2 The Equipment Decontamination System P19200 contains the necessary components to clean the response equipment at an oil spill site. The Equipment Decon Van contains a cleaning pool, a steam cleaner or saltwater pressure washer, a storage/shipping container, and the ancillary equipment to support the system while operating in the field. Oil spill response equipment requires extensive cleaning prior to demobilization and return to the warehouses. Without proper cleaning equipment, this task is difficult, time consuming, and costly. The Equipment Decon Van provides the full array of cleanup tools and materials necessary for efficient cleaning and demobilization of equipment. A major spill response operation may require several Equipment Decon Vans to expedite the time-consuming and costly cleaning process. 16 ESSM - HC0001 HOSE CLEANING MANIFOLD PALLET, 43" X 42" X 22" Hose Cleaning Manifold Pallet HC0001 The Hose Cleaning Manifold Pallet HC0001 is connected in-line with oil contaminated hoses, a cleaning tank filled with approved cleaning solvent, and a pump (used to circulate cleaning fluid). The manifold comes with a 4-inch and a 6-inch adapter manifold for the cleaning of either 4- or 6-inch hoses. Either of these adapter manifolds can be fitted with other adapters of different sizes to clean other hoses of different sizes. Once connected, the circulation pump is started and circulates the cleaning fluids through the hose until the hoses are clean. Diesel fuel is circulated through the hose first to break down the crude oil. After the hoses are flushed with diesel fuel they are then flushed with an approved cleaning solvent such as Citrikleen until the desired state of cleanliness is achieved.
