23 2 / USING YOUR APPLIANCE EN THE CLEANING FUNCTION This oven is equipped with a pyrolysis cleaning function and a descaling function: - Pyrolysis: - Pyrolysis is a cycle during which the oven cavity is heated to a very high temperature in order to eliminate soiling from splattering and spills. The smoke and odours released are destroyed as they move through a catalyser. - Pyrolysis is not necessary after each cooking cycle, but simply when the degree of dirt warrants it; your oven will inform you when cleaning is required via the control panel (1). As a safety measure, cleaning only occurs after the door locks automatically. Once the temperature inside the oven exceeds cooking temperatures, it is not possible to open the door. Descaling: Descaling is a cleaning cycle which eliminates limescale from the boiler.
