Thank you. Many thanks for your confidence in our Rointe products. Before you start to use the low-consumption Kyros water heater we recommend that you read this manual carefully in order to use the product correctly with the maximum guaranteed results.
English ATTENTION: If you are the owner of a model bought in the UK or Éire, please refer ONLY to its manual as the especifications of the water heaters are different. INDEX OF CONTENTS 1. INSTALLATION Accessories Placement Location Water System installation Electrical Installation Safety USE DESCRIPTION OF THE KYROS WATER HEATER Description of the front panel Switch On and Off (Stand By) Select Temperature Lock the Control Panel Adjust Date and Time Main Menu ADVANCED FUNCTIONALITY FUZZY LOGIC ENERGY CONTROL MAINTENANCE CONDITION OF THE GUARANTEE DIMENSIONS AND TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS
KYROS 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. Accessories The electric water heater, or boiler by accumulation under pressure, is provided with basic elements for its installation, such as: Insulating sockets. Safety valve. These accessories are included within the packaging Placement In order to fix the heater to the wall, you will have to use suitable rawlplugs, screws, or other fittings to support the weight of the heater when it is full Location It is essential that the heater is situated as near as possible to the place where hot water is required. In this way, water temperature loss in the pipework can be avoided. Leave a minimum space of 500 mm below where the pipes exit the heater to allow access for maintenance and repair and any necessary future maintenance operations 150 mm 100 mm 100 mm H 540 mm C 4
Do not install the heater horizontally with the wall supports horizontal or over the floor Water system installation WARNING TO THE INSTALLER: the insulating sockets provided with the heater must be placed on the entrance and exit pipes to eliminate the risk of galvanic pairs as teflon is used in the thread of the pipes. A- The heater MUST be installed with the security fitting that comes with it. No water system accessory may be placed between the security fitting and the cold water pipe (stop cock, anti-return, etc). The security fitting drainage outlet MUST be connected to a water drainage pipe that has to have a diameter that is at least equal to the diameter of the pipe connected to the boiler, with a continuous inclination, open to the atmosphere and with a minimum distance of 20 mm. During the warm-up time the water expands producing a drip (approximately 3% of its capacity during each heating cycle). This is not a cause for concern because it is a normal phenomenon. Please ensure that the water drainage conduct pipe is protected from frost. To drain the heater, lift the handle of the security fitting. It is also necessary for this handle to be periodically checked to avoid blockage by, for example: mud deposits, limescale deposits, etc. B- When the pressure of the network is higher than 5 bars, it is necessary to install a pressure reducer as near as possible to the meter. 5
KYROS 1.5. Electrical installation The appliance requires a single-phase 230 V supply. It is necessary to check carefully that the supply voltage agrees with the required voltage of the appliance. The heater does not need installation requirements outside the norm, therefore it is suitable for installation in accordance with the Electrotechnical Low Voltage Regulations. The power supply will have to be wired through a omnipolar interrupter, circuit breaker or contactor. The installation must be protected with fuses of a rating that corresponds with the intensity absorbed. The socket must be placed in such a way that when the heater is installed the plug is accessible. An earth connection must be included throughout the electrical installation. In order to ensure this connection the plug comes provided with the relevant contact. It is important that the style of any other plug used is the same type as the one provided with the appliance. The electrical system of the premises or house must be checked to ensure that it is equipped with an EARTH wire. This appliance complies with the regulations on radio-electric disturbances and interferences. NOTE: All maintenance and replacement of the fittings is prohibited (including the feed cable), unless it is authorised by the Technical Assistance Department. 6

KYROS 1.6. Safety This water heater can be used by children aged 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been given instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Children must be supervised at all times to ensure that they do not play with the product. 2. USE 2.1. Operation Filling. Once the heater has been installed, open the stop cock. Then open the hot water taps. When the water begins to come out of them the heater is full. Close the taps and check thoroughly that there are no leaks in the installation. Do not connect the heater to the mains supply before ensuring that it is full of water. Electrical connection. Plug in the heater, switch on and leave the appliance connected to the electricity supply. Once a certain amount of hot water has been used, the thermostat switches the heating element back on. Draining. In prolonged periods without use, and if there is risk of frosts in the premises where it is installed, the heater must be drained. It is possible to do this using the safety valve. In all cases: Cut the current 8
Close the tap where water enters the Installation. Drain through the safety group using the lever. 3. DESCRIPTION OF THE KYROS WATER HEATER 9

The electric water heater guarantee is 7 YEARS for the water tank and 2 YEARS for the electronics from the date of purchase. If the water heater breaks down during this guarantee period the entire appliance will be replaced. In the Canary Islands, the water tank is guaranteed for 3 YEARS. In order to guarantee the life of the water heater, it is a requirement that the user agrees to an annual inspection of the magnesium anode to check for erosion. Where erosion is excessive, it should be replaced. Our guarantee will be applied with the express condition that the electrical heater has been well installed by QUALIFIED FITTERS and with the PROTECTIVE SOCKETS which are provided with the appliance and that there has been an initial inspection of the anode. Excessive heating by a possible failure of the thermostat is protected by the safety limiter that cuts the two phases and leaves the heater without electrical supply. Should this occur, call the Technical Assistance Department to arrange repair. IMPORTANT - Never remove the connections cover without first unplugging the heater from the mains. Cleaning should not be carried out by children without supervision. Children must be supervised at all times to ensure that they do not play with the product.
