IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUTIONS WARNING R600a GAS This unit contains a certain amount of refrigerant gas, ISOBUTANE (R600a), a natural gas compatible with the environment but also combustible and explosive. Precautions should be taken during transport and installation to prevent the deterioration of the cooling circuit because this gas, if leaking, may ignite or cause damage. If you detect a leak, avoid any flame or other sources of heat and ventilate the room where the refrigerator is located for several minutes. Never turn on a device that shows signs of damages. If in doubt, consult the retailer where you made your purchase. Any use that is not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury. To reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or injury, follow these basic precautions when using your refrigerator. 1. WARNING Do keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure, clear of obstruction. 2. WARNING- Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process. 3. WARNING- Do not damage the refrigerant tubing. The risk of a leak increases when the unit is handled and moved. 4. WARNING- Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliances. 5. DANGER: Never allow children to play with, operate, or crawl inside the refrigerator. Risk of child entrapment. 6. The appliance has to be unplugged before carrying out any type of maintenance. 7. Children should not play with the appliance. 14

4 8. Before you throw away your old refrigerator or freezer: Take off the doors Leave the shelves in place so that children may not easily climb inside. 9. Follow local regulations regarding disposal of the appliance due to flammable refrigerant and blowing gas. All refrigeration products contain refrigerants, which under the guidelines of federal law must be removed before disposal. It is the consumer's responsibility to comply with federal and local regulations when disposing of this product. 10. This appliance is intended for domestic use in a household environment only; all other environment will void the warranty. 11. Do not store or use gasoline or any inflammable liquors (alcoholic beverages) and/or liquids inside or in the vicinity of refrigerator. Do not store inflammable materials such as ether, benzene, LP gas and glue etc. in or in the vicinity the refrigerator. 12. Do not use an extension cord with this appliance. If the power cord is too short, have a qualified electrician install an outlet near the appliance or change the unit s cord. The use of an extension can negatively affect the unit s performance. 2. BEFORE USING YOUR APPLIANCE KEEP THESE INSTRCUTIONS 1. Dispose of packaging material according to local environment laws and regulations. If the unit is damaged, do not plug it in and immediately contact the store/retailer where it was purchased. 2. Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, let it stand for about 3-4 hours, which will reduce a possibility of malfunctions in the cooling system due to transport handling. 3. Clean the appliance, and be thorough, especially in the interior (See MAINTENANCE section ). 4. In case the interior accessories are not correctly placed, rearrange them as described in the COMPONENTS section. This user guide is intended for the user. It describes the hardware and its correct and safe use. This guide has been prepared for various types and models of refrigerators, so you may find the description of certain functions and accessories which are not suitable to your device. 15

Select a space with a strong and levelled floor. 2. Clean the refrigerator thoroughly. Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth, the interior with a clean moist cloth. 3. The appliance must be correctly connected to the power supply. Connect the refrigerator into a properly grounded 3-prong outlet that will be used only for this unit. Do not use extension cords. 4. Do not use the refrigerator if the electrical cord is damaged. 5. We recommend that you wait 3 to 4 hours for the appliance to cool before storing food in the refrigerator. 16

6 6. Allow 2 inches (5cm) of space between the refrigerator s side and back wall, and 12 inches (30 cm) on top. Insufficient space will cause vibration noises, weaken the refrigeration process and waste electricity. 7. Allow sufficient clearance between the refrigerator and side wall so the door will open without obstruction. THIS UNIT IS NOT DESIGNED FOR RECESSED INSTALLATION. 8. Install the refrigerator in a convenient location away from extreme heat and cold. 9. The unit should be installed in a room where the temperature range will vary from 16 C to 32 C. 10. Make sure the adjustable legs adhere tightly to the floor. To adjust slightly slope the appliance backwards while keeping the doors tightly closed. 17

5. OPERATING YOUR APPLIANCE TEMPERATURE CONTROL The temperature of refrigerator is controlled manually by the knob. To control the internal temperature, simply adjust the thermostat.

The larger the number is, the cooler the interior temperature will be. 0 stands for off. Turn the knob to level 4 for a normal setting, adjust it to levels 5-7 for a cooler interior temperature and from 4-1, when a warmer interior temperature is needed. BULB REPLACING Switch off the refrigerator and pull out power cord from wall outlet. Wait a few minutes until the bulb becomes cold. Remove the lamp cover, unscrew the old bulb and replace it with a new one (Max. 10W). Finally, reinstall the lamp cover and properly fix it. 1. Slide out the lamp cover according to the arrow direction. 2. Remove the lamp cover. 2. Unscrew the old bulb by rotating it counterclockwise and replace it with a new one (Max. 10W). Finally, reinstall the lamp cover and properly fix it. DEFROST You should defrost the refrigerator when the frost accumulated on the evaporator is about 5 mm (1/8 ) thick. Set the thermostat dial to 0, remove all contents from the compartments and unplug the unit. Leave the freezer door open to allow accumulated ice/frost to melt. Remove large pieces of ice as needed. Do not use hot water or an electric heating devices to melt the accumulated ice. After defrosting, remove accumulated ice/water and wipe with a soft cloth. Restart the unit as per preliminary instructions. Never use a knife or other sharp instruments to scrape ice/frost from the inside of the unit. Note: Wait 5 minutes before restarting the unit if you unplug the refrigerator. The unit may not work properly if it is restarted too quickly. 18

8 POWER FAILURE During a power failure, even during summer, the refrigerator can store your food normally for several hours. After a power failure, do not store additional food in the refrigerator and reduce the frequency of door openings. 19

9 6. CARE AND MAINTENANCE Cleaners: Never use harsh, abrasive cleaners, heavy-duty cleaners, or solvents on any surface. Exterior: Wipe with damp, soapy cloth, rinse and dry. For stubborn stains and for periodic waxing, use silicon wax. Interior: Wash shelves and other removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Wash interior with baking soda solution (3 tablespoons to one liter of water) or warm soapy water, rinse and dry. Magnetic Door Seals: Wash with warm soapy water. Finally, replace all parts and return thermostat dial to desired setting. TIPS FOR ENERGY SAVINGS Try not to open the door too often, especially when the weather is hot/humid. Once you open the door, close it as soon as possible. Make sure that the door is properly closed when the appliance is in operation. Every now and then check if the appliance is sufficiently ventilated (adequate air circulation around the appliance). The unit should be installed in a cool, dry place, away from heat sources and direct sunlight. Before loading the appliance with fresh foods, make sure they are cooled to ambient temperature. HOLIDAY Short periods: let the appliance run during if the period is less than three weeks. Long periods: If the unit will not be used for several months, remove all the contents and unplug. Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. To prevent the possible formation of condensation, mold, or odors leave the door slightly open. TO MOVE THE UNIT Turn the unit off and then disconnect it from the wall outlet, then remove all movable parts and contents. Screw the legs to the base to avoid damage and close the door securely using tape. During transport only carry the refrigerator in an upright position. Any other position may damage the compressor. Do not lift or pull the door or the door handle during transportation. Ultimately, protect the exterior of the appliance with a blanket, or similar item. 20

10 7. WARANTY Your appliance is covered by a one year limited warranty. For one year from your original date of delivery, AVG will repair or replace any parts of this appliance that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship when such appliance is installed, used, and maintained in accordance with the provided instructions. Furthermore, the sealed refrigeration system (compressor, condensor,etc.) of your appliance is covered by a (1) one year limited warranty. THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE FOLLOWING: Product with original serial numbers that have been removed, altered or cannot be readily determined. Product that has been removed outside of Canada. Rust on the interior or exterior of the unit. Food loss due to freezer failure. Products used commercially. Service calls which do not involve malfunction or defects in materials or workmanship, or for appliances not in ordinary household use or used other than in accordance with the provided instructions. Expenses for making the appliance accessible for servicing, such as removal of trim, cupboards, shelves, etc., which are not a part of the appliance. Service calls to repair or replace appliance consumables, or knobs, handles, or other cosmetic parts. Pickup and delivery costs; your appliance will be repaired at home. Damages to the finish of appliance or home incurred during transportation or installation, including but not limited to floors, cabinets, walls, etc. Damages caused by: services performed by unauthorized Service Centers ; use of parts other than genuine parts or parts obtained from persons other than authorized Service Centers; or external causes such as abuse, misuse, inadequate power supply, accidents, fires, or acts of God. 21

11 DISCLAIMER OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES; LIMITATION OF REMEDIES THE CUSTOMER S SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY SHALL BE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENTS AS PROVIDED HERE. CLAIMS BASED ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED TO ONE YEAR OR THE SHORTEST PERIOD ALLOWED BY LAW, EXCEPT THOSE LESS THAN ONE YEAR. AVG SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES SUCH AS PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INCIDENTAL EXPENSES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF THIS WRITTEN LIMITED WARRANTY OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY. SOME PROVINCES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR LIMITATIONS ON THE DURATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. THIS WRITTEN WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS. YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM PROVINCE TO PROVINCE. 22

12 8.TROUBLESHOOTING Often you can solve common appliance problems easily, saving you the cost of a possible service call. Try the below suggestions to see if you can solve the problem before calling the servicer. WHAT TO DO If the refrigerator seems too warm inside: The door may have been opened too frequently or for too long. The interior circulation may be obstructed by having too many goods stored. (The refrigerator may be overloaded) Did you store anything hot, without first cooling it to room temperature? Is there sufficient clearance around, on all sides and above the unit? If the refrigerator starts making any unusual noises: Is it wobbling? Re-level it and check if it now operates normally. Have any objects fallen behind the refrigerator? If so, remove them and test if the process is now normal. Are any containers inside the refrigerator vibrating or resonating? If so, rearrange them and then check to see if operation has returned to normal. If the compressor keeps working for a long period of time: The ambient temperature may be too high. The doors may have been opened too frequently or even have been left open. Adjustment of the temperature control knob setting may increase the working time of compressor. If water leaks from the bottom of the refrigerator: The drain tube may be blocked. Should this be the case please use a suitable tool to fix the problem while making sure not to damage the unit. 23

13 If heavy frost forms on the rear of the appliance: Placing hot food into the appliance may cause this problem. Or it may be caused by the heavy/too humid ambient temperature The following cases are not malfunctions: Moisture may form on the outer surface of the product during the summer season. The flow of refrigerant through the tubes can create noises. The cooling system, being located on the sides of the unit, may cause the unit flanks to get warm The cabinet may get warm during the defrosting process.
