3 case study POPLAR PRIMARY SCHOOL CHOOSES FRANKE WASH AND PLAY TROUGHS The WASHINO wash and play trough The playful wave and pleasant warm surface of the MIRANIT troughs are a temptation for children to wash their hands. The larger outer radii of the mineral granite made basins reduce the risk of injury, while the generous inner radii and their seamless design make cleaning the washtroughs an easy task. Well known in the area due to its 231 year heritage, Franke Sissons were chosen to supply a mixture of products from their composite and stainless steel sanitary ranges. Premises Manager, Keith Pattinson explains We wanted to upgrade our washroom facilities with a robust but stylish washroom provision so we decided on a combination of a stainless steel and Miranit. The circular washtrough was delivered fully assembled which saved us time during installation and the Miranit composite trough looks fantastic in its surroundings. Miranit washtroughs are manufactured from a granite composite material in a single mould without seams or joints. 6 Water Free sanitaryware Water free urinals are becoming an increasingly attractive option in schools as they eliminate water usage altogether and are simple to install and maintain. How do they work? Glass Reinforced Plastic (GRP) Urinals The waterless GRP urinals from our partner, Uridan include a special odour trap. The odour trap works with the aid of urilock, a special blocking fluid which consists of plant-based substances and is biodegradable. The heavier urine flows directly down the drain, whilst the lighter urilock stays on the surface and blocks out odours. The system is both easy to maintain and clean; providing a sound alternative to traditional water fed sanitaryware. Cadet Due to the timeless design, the type Cadet has become a real classic. This material is even more resilient than ceramic. It is distinguished by an extremely long life cycle and provides a high level of security against vandalism. The 45m development, in the heart of the Central Cardiff Enterprise Zone, has been carefully designed to attract companies in the financial and professional services sector with interior design and specification of products reflecting its dual use. Working with both Willis Systems and local contractor CMB Engineering, the specification team designed and manufactured a bespoke washroom solution that will withstand the high traffic yet remain elegant and professional for the corporate sector visitors for years to come.
