NOTE: To avoid injury from unexpected starting or electrical shock, do not plug the power cord into a source of power during unpacking and assembly. The cord must remain unplugged whenever you are adjusting/assembling the fireplace. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to use or plug in the power cord until the missing or damaged part is correctly replaced. 4 Warranty 1 Year Limited Warranty: The manufacturer warrants this product to be free from manufacturing and material defects for a period of one year from date of purchase, subject to the following conditions and limitations: 1. Install and operate this Electric Fireplace in accordance with the installation and operating instructions furnished with the product at all times. Any unauthorized repair, alteration, willful abuse, accident, or misuse of the product shall nullify this warranty. 2. This warranty is non-transferable and is made to the original owner, provided that the purchase was made through an authorized supplier of the product. 3. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of part(s) found to be defective in material or workmanship, provided that such part(s) have been subjected to normal conditions of use and service, after said defect is confirmed by the manufacturer s inspection. 4. The manufacturer may, at its discretion, fully discharge all obligations with respect to this warranty by refunding the wholesale price of the defective part(s). 5. Any installation, labor, construction, transportation, or other related costs/expenses arising from defective part(s), repair, replacement, or otherwise of same, will not be covered by this warranty, nor shall the manufacturer assume responsibility for same. 6. 7 Assembly 1 Side panel installation 2 Locate the Left Side Panel (E), Center Left Shelf (B), Center Panel (D), Center Right Shelf (C), Right Side Panel (F), and set out face down on a scratch-free surface. Insert one Wood Dowel (CC) into each of the pre-drilled holes. Push the Left Side Panel (E) and Center Panel (D) snug to the Center Left Shelf (B). Make sure the Wood Dowels are seated in the pre-drilled holes. Using Bolts (AA) and Washers (BB) attach panels through pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Push the Center Right Shelf (C) and Right Side Panel (F) snug to the Center Panel (D). Make sure the Wood Dowels are seated in the pre-drilled holes. Using Bolts (AA) and Washers (BB) attach panels through pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Base installations Locate Hearth/Base (A) and set out finished side up on the floor. Insert one Wood Dowel (CC) into each of the pre-drilled holes. Attach the Completed assembly from step 1 to the Hearth/Base (A). Make sure that dowels are seated into the pre-drilled holes in the Hearth/Base. 8 Assembly (continued) 3 Center front molding installation Insert wood dowel (CC) into the holes in the Left/Right Side Panel (E/F). Push Center Front Molding (L) snug to the Left/Right Side Panel (E/F). Using Bolts (AA) and Washers (BB) attach panels through pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. 4 Top installation Insert one Wood Dowel (CC) into each of the pre-drilled holes on the top edges of the Assembly from step 3. Then locate Mantel/Top (G) and lay finished side up on top of completed assembly. From the inside, attach Mantel/Top (G) using Bolts (AA) and Washers (BB) through the pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Using Phillips head screwdriver tighten all Bolts alternating top and bottom, left and right. G L 5 Center Back installation Attach Center Back Panel (I) to the back of the completed assembly from step 4. Use a Phillips Head Screw Driver, tighten Wood Screws (DD) through the pre-drilled holes in the Center Back Panel (I). I 8

9 Assembly (continued) 6 Handle installation 7 Door installation Attach the Handle (HH) to the Front Door (J), use the bolts attached through the pre-drilled holes in the door. Then use a Phillips Head Screwdriver to tighten the bolts. Connect the Front Door (J) to the Right Side Panel (F) with the hinge pre-installed on the door, then use a Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the Screws (EE) through the pre-drilled holes. There are levelers located under the mantel which the height can be increased by twisting counter-clockwise. J J 8 Cooler installation PLEASE READ ALL WINE COOLER AND ELECTRIC FIREPLACE INSERT INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLING IN YOUR COMPLETED FIREPLACE MANTEL. INSTALL THE INSERT IN YOUR FIREPLACE CLOSE TO ITS FINAL POSITION. Insert the wine cooler feet into the holes of the Positioning Panel (M). 10 Assembly (continued) 9 Open the Front Door (J) and cooler door, connect the Front Door (J) to the cooler door with Screws (EE) and Door Clip (GG), Use a Phillips Head Screw Driver to tighten Screws (EE) through the pre-drilled holes in the Door Clip (GG). Close door and adjust the wine cooler forwards or backwards to insure a smooth operation of the door with a tight seal. Note: Installing the clip with the door open at a 45 degree angle will help insure a smooth operation through the full motion of the door. 10 Cooler installation Cooler installation Insert Stabilizer Frame (K) once the cooler is in the correct position. Fasten the positioning panel with wood screws (FF). Wedge the Stabilizer Frame (K) between the top of the cooler and mantel. Fasten with wood screws (FF). 11 Assembly (continued) 11 Insert installation Lift insert carefully into the back of the unit and center in the insert opening. Do not drag insert across hearth/base as it may scratch the unit. Connect the Insert Support Bar (H) to the inside left and right panels, using the bolt (AA) and washer (BB) through pre-drilled holes. MOVE YOUR COMPLETED UNIT ONLY SHORT DISTANCES. MOVE COMPLETED UNIT WITH GREAT CARE. IT TAKES TWO PEOPLE TO MOVE COMPLETED UNIT INTO ITS FINAL POSITION. Install Insert From Back Electric Fireplace Insert H 14 Inserting the fireplace into the mantel assembly Install the mounting brackets to hold insert flush against the inside of the mantel front panel. NOTE: Please read all electric fireplace insert instructions prior to installing electric insert in your completed fireplace mantel. Install the insert in your fireplace close to its final position. NOTE: Use great care to move your completed unit. Move it only short distances, and use two people to move it into its final position. II CAUTION: Cold climate installation recommendation: When installing this unit against a non-insulated exterior wall or chase, it is mandatory that the outer walls be insulated to conform to applicable insulation codes. CAUTION: A 15-Amp, 120-V, 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the fireplace will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation. The unit comes standard with 6-ft. three-wire cord, exiting from the rear of the fireplace. Avoid using an extension cord. If an extension cord must be used, it must be a minimum 14 AWG, three wire with grounding type plug connector and rated not less than 1875 watts. 12 Operation NOTE: The control panel can be accessed at the upper-right corner of the insert. When a function is changed from the control panel or remote control there will be a corresponding indicator (see Figure 1) on the upper-right of the projection screen. The indicator shows the function changed and the level selected by the control panel or remote control. When the function is turned off, the corresponding indicator will flash several times and then fade off. Fig. 1 C F 1 Powering the fireplace 2 Adjusting the flame Push the Power button to supply power to all functions of the fireplace and put the insert in a standby mode. Push the Power button again to turn off all functions. Press the Flame button to increase and decrease the flame intensity. There are 6 brightness levels you can cycle through as well as the OFF setting. NOTE: All previous settings are held in memory, so the next time you power up the fireplace, the unit will turn on with the same settings. NOTE: Holding the Power button on the control panel for 10 second will disable the heater function. 3 Adjusting the heater 4 Setting the timer Press the Heater button to set the thermostat. Your fireplace consists of a fan-forced wire-element-type heater. The thermostat setting range is 62 F - 82 F or 17 C - 27 C or always ON. This button on the remote control only turns ON and OFF the heater function. Press the Timer button to cycle through the 10 timer settings (30 minutes, 1 Hour, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H and 9H) and the OFF setting. NOTE: To change between F and C press and hold the Heater button on the control panel for 10 seconds. 12

13 Operation (continued) 5 Replacing the remote control battery 6 When the remote control stops operating or its range seems reduced, it is time to replace the battery with new ones. On the back end of the remote, press and slide the battery door open and remove the old battery. Insert 2 AAA batteries, checking that the + and - sides of the battery match inside the battery com partment. Replace the battery compartment door. NOTE: Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbonzinc), or rechargeable (nicad, nimh, etc) batteries. NOTE: Please operate the remote transmitter at a slow measured pace. Press the remote control buttons with an even motion and gentle pressure. Repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid succession may cause the transmitter to malfunction. Disposing of used batteries The battery may contain hazardous substances that could endanger the enviroment and human health. This symbol marked on the battery and/or packaging indicates that used battery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Instead it shall be left at the appropriate collection point for recycling. By correctly disposing used batteries, you prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. Recycling used materials also conserves natural resources. For more information about collecting and recycling used batteries, please contact your local municipality, your waste disposal service or the point of sale where you purchased this product. NOTE: Note: Batteries should be removed if the product is to be left unused for a long time. 7 Power cord information This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in the figure. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. Do not use a 2 prong adapters. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/ power strip). 13

14 FCC/ICC Information This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on. The user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. Increase the separation between the equipment and the receiver. Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. Care and Cleaning Dust your fireplace regularly with a soft non-lint-producing cloth or household dusting product. Clean your fireplace with a gentle non-abrasive household cleaner. Dry your fireplace immediately with a soft cloth or towel. Tips for using touch-up pen (KK): For scratches, stroke in direction of scratch. For worn areas, stroke in direction of wood grain. Rub excess colorant promptly with a soft cloth. The motors used on the fan and the flame generator assembly are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life and require no further lubrication. However, we recommend periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater. Make sure the unit is turned OFF and unplugged whenever you are cleaning the heater or fireplace. WARNING: Make sure the power is turned off before proceeding with repairs. Any electrical repairs or rewiring of this unit should be carried out by a licensed electrician in accordance with national and local codes. If repairing or replacing any electrical component or wiring, the original wire routing, color coding and securing locations must be followed. During any service of this appliance, the power to the unit must be turned off. First turn the main power switch to the OFF position. Then remove the electrical plug from the wall outlet. WARNING: Electrical outlet wiring must comply with local building codes and other applicable regulations to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons. WARNING: Do not use this fireplace if any part of it has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the fireplace and replace any part of the electrical system. WARNING: Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury. 14

15 Troubleshooting PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION There is no power and the logs do not glow. The logs glow but there is no flame effect. There is no power to the unit. The flame effect turned off. Check that the unit is plugged into a standard 120V outlet. Press the Power button several times, make sure power is set to the ON position. Press the Flame button several times. The power cord gets warm. This is normal operation. Check your heater cord and plug connections. Faulty wall outlet connections or loose plugs can cause the outlet or plug to overheat. Be sure the plug fits tight in the outlet. Heaters draw more current than small appliances, overheating of the outlet may occur even if it has not occurred with the use of other appliances. During use check frequently to determine if your plug outlet or faceplate is HOT! If so, discontinue use of the heater and have a qualified electrician check and/or replace the faulty outlet(s). The heater does not blow warm air. The thermostat setting is preventing the heater from turning on. Adjust the temperature settings to ensure that the thermostat is set higher than the current room temperature. The heater does not work, but Power and Heater settings are ON and the thermostat is set. The flame effect works but the heater function does not and the ember bed flashes when the Heater button is pressed. The remote control is not working. Manual reset overheat protection triggered. The heater is disabled. There are no batteries or the signal is poor. Turn the Power to OFF and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes plug the unit back into the wall outlet, and operate as normal. If the problem persists contact customer service. With the power on press and hold the Power button on the control panel for 10 seconds. Once re-enabled the ember bed lights will flash multiple times. Change the remote batteries. Operate the remote control at a slow measured pace. Press the remote control buttons with an even motion and gentle pressure. Repeatedly pressing buttons in rapid succession may cause the transmitter to malfunction. 15

Read all of the instructions before using this appliance. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot outlet that will accept the plug. The marked rating of the extension cord must be equal or greater that the electrical rating of the appliance. 7. Never unplug the unit by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the plug firmly and pull straight out from the socket. 8. Repair or replace immediately, all electric cords that have become frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length, the plug or the connector end. 9. 19 Installation And Operation Instructions 1. Unpacking: a. Unpack the unit at close proximity of it s final location to avoid damage while moving the unit. b. Insure that all packaging and printed materials are disposed before operation of the unit. i. There is protective Styrofoam packaging located inside the back of the wood cabinet which must be removed before operating the unit to insure proper ventilation of the coolers. ii. There is packaging located inside the cooler holding the racks which must be removed. 2. Selecting a Location: a. This unit is for Interior Home-Use only. To minimize the risk of rusting, leakage and insulation damage, avoid placing the unit in a place where heavy moisture is present. Under no circumstances spill or directly apply water onto or into the unit. b. Do not install this unit in any location not properly insulated or heated (such as a garage) c. Select a suitable location for the unit on a hard even surface away from direct sunlight or heat source (ie. radiators, baseboard heaters, cooking appliances, etc.) and avoid placing the unit where there may be electrical interference. 3. Installation : a. Simply plug the unit into a suitable power outlet (115V ~60Hz 15A) with proper grounding. Then gently push the wood cabinet against the selected wall. b. Avoid the use of three plug adaptors and do not alter the plug under any circumstance. c. Avoid the use of an extension cord because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions. If it is necessary to use an extension cord, use only a 3-wire extension cord that has a 3-blade grounding plug and a 3-slot outlet that will accept the plug. The marked rating of the extension cord must be equal or greater that the electrical rating of the appliance. 4. Venting: a. The cooler is rated for built-in use. However, proper ventilation must still be maintained in order to insure the proper function and reliability of the unit. b. There are vents and openings strategically located on the wood cabinet in order to insure air flow. Neither block-off these areas nor modify the cabinet under any circumstance. c. Do not overfill your Cooler for proper internal air circulation. 5. Operating the Unit: a. General Features (fig. 1) i. Your Cooler will automatically maintain the temperature level you select. The thermostat is divided into 7 level swith a temperature setting in between each one. At first, set the dial to MAX for 3 hours before adjusting the temperature to your needs. ii. The actual cabinet temperature in a thermal electric unit is dependant on the ambient room temperature. When the ambient temperature is below the set temperature the Cooler will not operate until the ambient temperature increases to higher than the set temperature. b. Cooler Interior Shelf (fig. 2) To adjust, remove or replace a full-width slide-out shelf: i. Gently tilt the shelf up and slide forward until the shelf has been completely removed. ii. To replace the shelf, gently slide the shelf back. fig. 2 19

Any unauthorized repair, alteration, willful abuse, accident, or misuse of the product shall nullify this warranty. 2. This warranty is non-transferable and is made to the original owner, provided that the purchase was made through an authorized supplier of the product. 3. The warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of part(s) found to be defective in material or workmanship, provided that such part(s) have been subjected to normal conditions of use and service, after said defect is confirmed by the manufacturer s inspection. 4. The manufacturer may, at its discretion, fully discharge all obligations with respect to this warranty by refunding the wholesale price of the defective part(s). 5.
