11 We purchased the property from a family who had lived in it for a long time, continues Ayke, but during that time it was only basically maintained. We took the opportunity to refurbish the house adding a two-storey extension to one side and extended out to the back.

13 We also brought it into the 21st century with a state of the art hidden Solar system which additionally generates income with electricity feeding back into the grid and a pressurised twin tank hot water system to adequately supply the 3 bath/shower rooms.

16 ENGLEFIELD GREEN is an absolutely charming village located in North Surrey on the edge of Windsor Great Park. It has featured several times in paintings by Paul Sandby, regarded as the father of English watercolour, in the 1700 s. There are two shopping areas and several restaurants and picturesque pubs, one of which is set on the green.

17 The nearest main-line train station is about 1 mile away in Egham, with Waterloo reached in about minutes. Egham also offers a good array of shops and lovely picnic areas on the banks of the River Thames, where the Magna Carta was signed in There are some lovely walks through Windsor Great Park, Savill Gardens and Smiths Lawn, where polo is played and the Long Walk from the Copper Horse to Windsor Castle is a joy.
