15 Plug-in cabinets The number of sold plug-in display cabinets is increasing. This type is especially installed in discounters and indicates a trend. In Lidl discounter stores new display cases nowadays will be equipped with the refrigerant R290 (propane). These display cases are delivered by AHT. The AHT company has brought about 40,000 units with R290 as refrigerant (40 % of the total amount) onto the market. 15
16 Centralized systems Most of the overall installed refrigeration plants are centralized direct systems with R134a or R404A/R507. Refrigerant cycles are designed as simply as possible for installing and using Heat recovery is not realized in most cases 16
17 Centralized systems The number of indirect and hybrid systems which are established is low. These systems can be considered as pilot-plants or experimental set-ups. Currently there is no trend to these designs, not even in Scandinavia, Luxembourg and Switzerland. In these countries the number of installed pilot systems is higher than in other countries. 17
