Carrier s QuieTech noise reduction system makes the Comft 80 an incredibly quiet induced-draft gas furnace. The exclusive Carrier Media Cabinet provides an economic way to add high perfmance air filtration to homes. The gas furnace control system provides a dehumidification mode, a third mot speed selection f continuous fan operation selectable at the thermostat, and fault code stage in the event of power outages. Applications are easy with 4-way multipoise design, through-the-furnace downflow venting, 13 different venting options, and a do designed f easy service access. An inner blower do is provided f tighter sealing in sensitive applications. The furnaces are approved f use with natural propane gas, and the 58DLX is approved f use in NOx Air Quality Management Districts. 16 Guide Specifications Gas Furnace General SYSTEM DESCRIPTION Furnish a fixed capacity gas-fired furnace f use with natural gas propane (facty authized conversion kit required f propane); furnish cold air return plenum; furnish external medial cabinet f use with accessy media filter standard filter. QUALITY ASSURANCE Unit will be designed, tested and constructed to the current ANSI Z 21.47/CSA 2.3 design standard f gas-fired central furnaces. Unit will be 3rd party certified by CSA to the current ANSI Z 21.47/CSA 2.3 design standard f gas-fired central furnaces. Unit will carry the CSA Blue Star and Blue Flame labels. Unit efficiency testing will be perfmed per the current DOE test procedure as listed in the Federal Register. Unit will be certified f capacity and efficiency and listed in the latest GAMA Consumer s Directy of Certified Efficiency Ratings. Unit will carry the current Federal Trade Commission Energy Guide efficiency label. DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING Unit shall be shipped as single package only and is sted and handled per unit manufacturer s recommendations. Products EQUIPMENT Components shall include: slow-opening gas valve to reduce ignition noise, regulate gas flow, with electric switch gas shut-off; flame proving sens, hot surface igniter, pressure switch assembly; flame rollout switch, blower and inducer assembly, 40va transfmer; low-voltage (heating) (heating/ cooling) thermostat. Blower Wheel and Blower Mot Galvanized blower wheel shall be centrifugal type, statically and dynamically balanced. Heat Exchangers Heat exchangers shall be a 4-Pass 20 gage aluminized steel of fold-and-crimp sectional design when applied operating under negative pressure. Controls Control shall include a micro-process based integrated electronic control board with at least 11 service troubleshooting codes displayed via diagnostic flashing LED light on the control, a self-test feature that checks all maj functions of the furnace within one minute, and a replaceable automotive-type circuit protection fuse. Multiple operational settings available including, separate blower speeds f low heat, high heat, low cooling, high cooling and continuous fan. Continuous fan speed may be adjusted from the thermostat. Cooling airflow will be selectable between CFM per ton of air conditioning. Features will also include tempary reduced airflow in the cooling mode f improved dehumidification when an Infinity Control Thermidistat is selected as the thermostat.
