2 CESA Program Product List The following document provides a list of product categories and specific products captured by the CESA small appliance recycling program. The program began with categories 1-11 on October 1, 2011 and expanded to include categories on July 1, For details on the CESA program, please refer to Environmentally Handling Fees (EHFs) for each product category can be found in the summary table below, as well as throughout the product list. Program products also include those used for measuring and for nailing, riveting, screwing or removing nails, rivets or screws. Tools that meet any of the definitions above are included in the program regardless of whether they are marketed for household, industrial or commercial purposes. Program products include, but are not limited to, those used for bending, cutting, drilling, folding, grinding, milling, polishing, punching, sanding, sawing, shearing, soldering, turning, welding, or otherwise processing wood, metal or other materials, including battery powered hand tools. Program products also include those used for measuring and for nailing, riveting, screwing or removing nails, rivets or screws. Tools that meet any of the definitions above are included in the program regardless of whether they are marketed for household, industrial or commercial purposes. Schedule 3, 2 (1): (d) electronic or electrical tools, other than large-scale stationary industrial tools, including, without limitation, (iv) sewing machines, knitting machines and other appliances for weaving or processing textiles, Punching Machine Quilting Machine Serger Sewing Machine - Machines not powered by conventional electricity or batteries (e.g. USB-powered, solar-powered) - Large stationary machines, used for any of the above purposes, which are not designed to be moved, including long arm quilting machines 16. Exercise Machines Fee rate: $2.60 CESA BC Recycling Regulation Cross Trainers Cycling Machines Elliptical Machines Exercise machines that use any kind of power mechanism (plug, cord or battery) to power the product and/or to assist in adjusting the resistance mechanism in the product, i.e. exercise machines with a primary purpose that requires electricity and/or battery power. Units that are purely mechanical and do not require any kind of power assistance to adjust the product s resistance system should NOT be included. Units that require power ONLY to display information that is not critical to the functioning of the product or adjustment of the product s resistance system should NOT be included. Designated Very Small Items [previously Part 1 & 2 Designated Very Small Items categories] Fee rate: $0.20 CESA The following items have an average weight that is significantly lower than the products included in CESA's other categories. Therefore, applicable fees reflect the smaller nature of these items. Though they are exempt from their natural categories, they are not exempt from the CESA program. Note: Only these items listed below have been approved by the CESA program as Designated Very Small Items. No other exceptions can be made unless approved by CESA.
