Keep this instruction manual in a safe place for future reference. Also keep the sales receipt and, if possible, the gift box with the inner packaging. 3. Failure to follow all the instructions listed may result in electric shock, fire or serious personal injury. 4. Before plugging the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill into the mains electrical supply, check that the voltage and power supply comply with the specifications indicated on the rating plate of the appliance. 5. The Gourmet Panini Press and Grill is not intended for use for by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. 6. Always place the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill on a stable, flat, heat-resistant surface. Also ensure that the surface can take the weight of the unit during use. 7. The Gourmet Panini Press and Grill is intended for DOMESTIC USE ONLY and should not be used for commercial purposes. The Gourmet Panini Press and Grill should only be used for its intended purpose. 8. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use the handle. 9. Always keep the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill out of reach of children. Close adult supervision is necessary when Gourmet Panini Press and Grill is used by or near children. 10. Do not leave the unit unattended when not in use. 11. Do not move or lift the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill while it is operating or while it is connected to an electrical socket. 12. The use of attachments, not specifically recommended by the manufacturer, must not be used as they may cause personal injury or damage to the appliance. 13. Do not operate the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill if the plug or power cord has been damaged, is not working properly, has been dropped or has been exposed to water or other liquid. 14. Check the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill power cord carefully regularly for damage. If the power cord is damaged in any way, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid an electrical hazard. 15. Do not allow the power cord to hang over sharp table edges or come into contact with hot surfaces. 16. Make sure that the Gourmet Panini Press and Grill is switched off and remove the plug from the mains electrical supply when it is not in use, before it is cleaned and while it is being repaired. Ensure that the appliance is cool before cleaning. 17. To prevent the risk of electrical shock, do not immerse power cord, plug, or any non removable parts of this Gourmet Panini Press and Grill in water or any other liquid. 2

BeforeusingtheGourmetPaniniPressandGrillforthefirsttime,wipetheoutsideofthe appliancewithadrycottoncloth. 2. WashthegrillingplatesandtheDripTraythoroughlybyhandorinthedishwasher. 3. Drythegrillingplatesthoroughlybeforere-insertingintotheappliance. 4. MakesuretoreplacetheDripTray. 5. OpentheunitbyliftingtheHandleup. 6. Youmaygreasetheplateswithbutter,margarineorcookingfat.Sincetheappliancehasanonstickcoatedsurface,theuseofbutteroroilisoptional. 7. ClosethePlatesandswitchtheunitonbypluggingitintoastandardelectricaloutlet.Verify thattheredpowerindicatorlightilluminates. WARNING:TheGrillingPlatesandmetalsurfacesoftheunitwillbecomeextremelyhotwhenin use.toavoidaburnhazard,wearheat-resistantmittsorglovesandtouchonlythecool-touch Handle. 8. Aftertheunitpreheatsforapproximately5minutes,theGREENReadyIndicatorLightwill illuminate,indicatingthatthegourmetpaninipressandgrillisreadyforuse. 9. UsetheHandletolifttheUpperGrillingPlate. 10. PlacefoodontheLowerGrillingPlateusingwoodenorplasticheat-resistantutensils. CAUTION:Donotusemetalutensilsonthisproduct,astheywillscratchanddamagethenonstickcoatingontheGrillingPlates. 11. Theunitisfittedwithafloatinghingesystemwhichallowsittoadjustautomaticallytothe thicknessofthefoodplacedonthelowergrillingplate. 12. UsetheHandletolowerandresttheUpperGrillingPlateontopofthefoodwithoutusing pressure. NOTES: Foodmustbecompletelydefrostedbeforecooking/grilling. Thecooking/grillingtimefordifferentfooddependsonthetype,thicknessandvolumeof thefood,aswellaspersonalpreference. UsetheThermostatControlKnobtoselectcooking/grillingtemperaturefromthelowest temperaturesetting(min)tothehighesttemperaturesetting(max). TheGREENReadyIndicatorLightwillturnonandoffthroughoutthecooking/grillingcycle tomaintaintheselectedcookingtemperature. 5
7 13. When the food is cooked/grilled as desired, lift the Handle to open the Grilling Plates, then remove the food using heat-resistant utensils. If further cooking is required to be done at this time, close the Grilling Plates to conserve heat. 14. Repeat Steps 7-12 until all cooking/grilling is complete, reapplying cooking oil as necessary. 15. Press button no.2 to open the unit into a 180 degree position to allow for double plate grilling/cooking. 16. Switch off the Gourmet Panini Pres and Grill by unplugging the Power Cord from the mains electrical supply. 17. Allow the unit to cool down completely before cleaning. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE 1. Before cleaning, unplug the unit and wait for the appliance and the Grilling Plates to cool down completely. 2. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth, ensuring that no moisture, oil or grease enters the cooling slots. 3. Remove the Drip Tray carefully and empty it. Wash with warm soapy water and then slide it back into the unit. 4. The Grilling Plates can be cleaned by wiping them with a damp cloth. 5. Press the Plate Release Button (no.8) near the Handle to release the Grilling Plates for washing under running water. Dry them thoroughly before re-inserting into the unit. 6. Do not clean the inside or outside of the unit with any abrasive scouring pads or steel wool as this will damage the finish of the unit. 7. Do not immerse in water or any other liquid. ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY DISPOSAL This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed of with other household waste. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable re-use of material resources. To dispose of your appliance correctly, please contact or take it to your local refuse / recycling centre. Alternatively, contact your local council for information on your local re-use centre. Please make this product environmentally safe for recycling. 6
