The heating elements of these zones are connected directly to STARBOX FO. The heating programs The programs consist of alternations of comfort and reduced temperatures according to the periods when you use the various rooms. You can customise one program for each day of the week. TYPHONE 76 Rév. Zone The outside temperature STARBOX FO (in automatic mode) continuously displays the temperature measured by the outdoor sensor, at the top-right of the screen. The water heater (DHW) STARBOX FO enables or disables water heater operation. You simply choose the periods during which you allow the water heater to be switched on, according to the off-peak and peak periods. You can switch the water heater on manually. Power management (load shedding) STARBOX FO monitors loads exceeding your contracted power. It prevents the tripping of your entire electrical system. STARBOX F0 acts intelligently, giving priority to your comfort. Consumption indication The consumption indication functions tells you what the heating, the domestic hot water or the entire system is costing you over a given period. There are types: - indication in French francs or euros for each type of consumption - indication in kwh by tariff period for each type of consumption STARBOX F0 saves money The tariff programming (in the tempo option), STARBOX F0 adopts a specific temperature lower than the programmed temperature (Comfort) in periods when electricity is most expensive (e.g.: peak periods, WHITE or RED day) Smart cards On simple request to DELTA DORE, a customised program can be recorded on a PERFOPUCE smart card. When inserted into the energy manager, the card enables it to operate immediately according to the recorded parameters. By acquiring several cards, you can compile a library covering various lifestyles (working day, weekend, vacation, etc.), applied by simply changing from one card to another. You can also order a kwh price update smart card ("TARIF"). It can also be used to change the display unit (French francs or euros). Automatic operation can be suspended at any time
4 Putting your energy manager into service To put STARBOX F0 into service, you must: Summary Setting the time and the day STARBOX F0 must know the exact time and day in order to operate according to your programming. Press the clock button The hour figures start blinking Hour Minutes Consult the programming To check that the heating programs applied curently by your STARBOX F0 meet your needs. If these programs do not suit you, you can: Modify the programs yourself (refer to the "Modifying a program" section), Press the and buttons to adjust the hour figures The minute figures start blinking LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM Day Use a smart card on which your customised programming is recorded (refer to the smart card request form). 5 Consulting the programs To find out whether the parameters applied when your energy manager is put into service are suitable for you. Use the buttons located behind the door Press button, or depending on which zone you want to consult The program for Monday (LUN) is displayed as many times as necessary to display the programs assigned to the following days If the heating programs applied to the zones are not suitable for you, you can : Modify these programs yourself, referring to the "Modifying a program" section, Obtain customised heating programs rapidly by requesting a smart card (refer to the smart card request form). E.g.: Zone Zone h LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM Modifying a program To customise the programs to meet your needs, you can : - either use a smart card (refer to the "Using a smart card" section) - or program the energy manager directly (you might find it helpful to use the charts on page 0!) Use the buttons located behind the door, or, depending which zone you want to program (e.g. zone ) The program for Monday is displayed as many times as necessary to display the program of the day you want to modify (example: Wednesday (MER)) To program : ( h of reduced temperature) or the button (h of comfort) The display moves to the next time slot Repeat for each time slot. Press the "CORRECT." button to go back to the previous time slot. to cancel your changes. a second time to exit from the programming mode. to confirm your program The next day is displayed Zone h LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM h LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM To exit rapidly from the consultation mode, press the button. Fast programming Example : You have customised a program for Monday and you want to apply it to Tuesday as well. Confirm your program for Monday by pressing the button. Press the "COPY" button. The program of the previous day is displayed. to confirm The "COPY" button applies the previous day's program to the selected day
6 Tempo option, Choosing the comfort levels for white and red days AND To adopt a lower temperature than the programmed temperature (comfort setting) in periods when the tariff is least economical. Choosing the water heater operating mode If you want, STARBOX F0 can start up or shut down your water heater. You can choose from three off-peak and peak period combinations. Press the "tempo" button The setback temperature applied to zone on WHITE days is displayed Aujourd'hui Demain BLEU BLANC ROUGE Zone Days (P ) (P ) Press the or buttons to select the temperature to apply If you have -order pilot wire heating You can choose between temperatures : (P ) After deciding your comfort levels on white and red days (refer to the previous page), you can define the periods when hot water tank operation is allowed. Reduced If you have 6-order pilot wire heating You can choose between temperatures : Reduced Comfort (no setback) Comfort- C 6 Press the or buttons to select the operating mode (refer to the table above) Eau Chaude Marche Comfort- C to confirm your choice The setback temperature applied to zone on RED days is displayed. Then proceed in the same way as in Comfort (no setback) Aujourd'hui BLEU BLANC ROUGE Zone Demain 7 to confirm your choice Return to the initial display. Repeat operations and for each heating zone. Display obtained after step on the previous page. 5 5 When you have finished programming, press the button to confirm The water heater programming mode is displayed (see next page) Press the "CORRECT." button to go back to the previous setting. to cancel your changes
7 Using a smart card To apply a customised program to your energy manager immediately, without programming. Slide the door downwards to reveal the programming buttons. Suspending automatic management (or override) To suspend automatic management of the heating or the hot water tank temporarily. To do this, use the buttons on the upper keypad located to the right of the screen. Pull the door down and towards you Hold the card in one hand, with the chip facing you and towards the top, and insert it into the slot as far as it will go The card symbol appears, along with a scrolling display. Your customised program is stored immediately in the memory. Hot water tank A hand is displayed on the screen next to the hot water symbol eg.: Switching on The hot water tank is switched off : - either when you press the button again - or at the next tariff period change (peak period, off-peak period) Eau Chaude Marche Withdraw the card. Engage the door on the case rails and push it closed, without forcing. Heating Press button, or depending on the zone you want to modify. eg.: zone ) A hand is displayed on the screen Zone Proceed in the same way when using a "TARIF" card (kwh price update). Press the same button as many times as necessary to choose the temperature that you want To order your smart card, use the smart card request form enclosed with your energy manager. If you have -order pilot wire heating You can choose between temperatures: Frost Protection Reduced Comfort
8 If you have 6-order pilot wire heating You can choose between 5 temperatures: Frost protection Comfort - C Comfort - - Reduced Comfort - C You can cancel the override by pressing the, or button, depending on the zone, as many times as necessary to return to the initial temperature. The hand disappears OR The override is cancelled automatically at the next temperature change in the program IMPORTANT : An override in Frost Protection is not cancelled by a temperature change in the program Shutting down and restarting the heating To shut down and restart the heating without switching off the hot water tank The message 'SHUTDOWN" is displayed. The heating is shut down again or the "AUTO" button to restart the heating IMPORTANT : In the "Heating shutdown" mode, overrides are permitted (refer to the "Suspending automatic management" section), except for the Frost Protection temperature. In the tempo option, overrides are cancelled by a day colour change. Heures Pleines Aujourd'hui BLEU BLANC ROUGE Demain ARRET Eau Chaude Marche LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM Long-duration absence To specify Frost Protection heating for a programmed duration from to 99 days or an indefinite duration. The message "ABSENCE" is displayed. The heating is in Frost Protection mode for an indefinite duration If you want to program a number of days of absence : Press the or button Example : leaving on 0 January, returning on 9 January, indicate 9 days. Automatic operation will resume on 9 January at 0:00 a.m. There are several ways to cancel an absence : or the "AUTO" button. Return to automatic operation Press the button. Heating shutdown Remote absence setting (option) Using a telephone remote control (such as TYPHONE ), you can confirm or cancel the absence mode. Before leaving the dwelling, confirm the absence on the telephone remote control. The message "tele" is displayed on the screen. Return to normal operation Order the termination of absence mode either remotely or locally (on the telephone remote control). - - Heures Pleines Aujourd'hui BLEU BLANC ROUGE Demain ABSENCE Eau Chaude Marche LUN MAR MER JEU VEN SAM DIM
9 Consulting your consumption To know how much your heating, your domestic hot water or your entire system is costing you over a given period. The displayed consumption is the estimated consumption since the last reset. There are types of consumption indication: - by consumption type (overall, heating, hot water) - by tariff period for each consumption type (in kwh) The consumption value that you can read on the digital screen is a non contractual indication and cannot be substituted with the consumption value mentioned on your electricity bill. How to read the display? Estimated consumption (e.g. in French francs) Representation of the instantaneous power consumption as a percentage of the contracted power (00%) % Indication by consumption type. It is expressed in French francs (incl. VAT) or EUROS (incl. VAT) Press and release the button The overall consumption is displayed Indication : all (tout) Press and release the button The heating consumption is displayed Indication : HEAT (CHAU) Press and release the button The hor water consumption is displayed Indication : DHW (ECS) Press and release the the mode button to exit from Indication by tariff period for each consumption type It is expressed in kwh. Press and hold the button (about 5 sec) until the display shown on the right is obtained as many times as necessary to scroll through the consumption values for each tariff period and each consumption type. If you have contracted the Off Peak option (double tariff) The values scroll in the order Off-Peak then Peak for each consumption type (overall, heating, DHW) If you have contracted the tempo option (BLUE, WHITE, RED) The values scroll in the order Off-Peak then Peak for BLUE, WHITE then RED days and for each consumption type (overall, then heating, then DHW). How to read the display? Consumption Aujourd'hui BLEU BLANC ROUGE Demain Tariff period Consumption type consulted Heures Creuses Consumption type consulted IMPORTANT : If you have a three-phase system, STARBOX F0 does not display the domestic hot water consumption value. To change the display unit (French francs or euros), you must order a "TARIF" card, specifying the unit that you want
10 Replacing battery At the end of the consultation, STARBOX F0 displays the maximum power reached by the heating consumption. It is expressed in kw to exit from the consultation mode Zone Zone Zone In the case of a mains power cut, your STARBOX F0 retains all the information necessary for automatic management (programs, comfort levels). The clock is backed up by a battery located in the unit. Battery replacement is described below. If the battery is low, the time display blinks. Procure a type 6LR6 9-volt battery The battery must be replaced while the energy manager is energised. Slide the door downward until you can remove it completely. Display reset in French Franc or in Euro Press and release the button to display a consumption value (e.g. 7 French francs) The consumption value starts blinking 5 Remove the flat battery and insert the new battery in its housing, making sure it is the right way round. Fit the door All the consumption displays in French francs or euros are reset to zero Tip : Record the zero reset date and the various display values on this date, so that you can compare your consumption between one measurement period and another. Display reset in kwh Press and hold the button to display a consumption value in kwh. Repeat operations and to set all the displays in kwh to zero
11 Glossary Smart card Time slot Override DHW Pilot wire Card on which the management parameters adapted to your needs are recorded. Time unit used in programming mode, equivalent to one hour. Each time slot has a temperature, Reduced or Comfort. Refer to "Suspending automatic management" Domestic hot water. This means the hot water tank The pilot wire principle enables the selection, from the STARBOX F0 control unit, on the convectors of a given zone, the reference temperature with respect to which they must control their heating (room-by-room control). Example: a convector receiving the Comfort order controls its heating according to its comfort setting (knob on the convector). If it receives the Reduced order, it controls its heating according to its Reduced setting.? Nothing is displayed on the STARBOX F0 screen The time display is blinking The red indicator lamps on STARBOX F0 are blinking STARBOX F0 does not take your changes into account There is a mains power cut Check your circuit breaker or contact your installer The battery is low Replace the battery (page 6) There is a communication problem with the electronic meter or the technical unit Contact your electricity supplier or your installer You are not confirming your programming Press the Diagnosis / Solutions button to confirm your changes Tariff period Consumption type Reset The double tariff or tempo tariff options are divided into periods corresponding to different electricity costs : Double tariff = off-peak period and peak period tempo = day colours: BLUE, WHITE, RED Each day is divided into off-peak and peak periods Element consuming electrical energy (heating, hot water tank, etc.) Zero reset Your heating comes on before the programmed time A red indicator lamp is on next to the "zone" or "hot water tank" button The consumption display is expressed in French francs and you want to display it in euros Heating anticipation must have been programmed by the installer when the energy manager was put into service Contact your installer or refer to the installation guide You have switched on heating or hot water on a red day and thus increased your energy consumption (refer to the "Suspending automatic management" section, page 9) You must update the display unit Order a "TARIF" smart card, specifying the unit that you want, using the smart card request form Suspending automatic operation Temporary interruption of automatic operation of the heating or the hot water tank Reduction temperature Lower temperature than the programmed temperature, used in periods when the price is least economical.. Heating zone Set of rooms in the dwelling where the convectors are controlled in the same way by STARBOX F0 Important : If you cannot find a solution to your problem, contact your installer directly
12 Recording the consumption Important : the consumption value that you can read on the digital screen is a non contractual indication and cannot be substituted with the consumption value mentioned on your electricity bill. Programming reminder Use the charts below to define your programming or keep a trace of it. Fill in the boxes where you want the comfort temperature. You can use the table below to record the consumption values expressed in French francs or euros for each consumption type and compare them between measurement periods.
