2 IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS Before use, please read and follow these instructions carefully, even if you feel you are familiar with the product. They contain important information concerning the operation, safety and maintenance when using the product. Please retain these instructions for future use and reference. When first installed you may experience a burning smell or a little smoke, this is normal and will fade within a few minutes. The surface temperature of this heater can be very hot, do not touch when the heater is turned on. Only connect the product if the voltage indicated on the product label(s) corresponds with the mains voltage. The heater must not be located immediately below a wall socket. Do not unplug the product by pulling on the cord. To unplug grasp the plug, not the cord. This product has an overheat protection safeguard that turns off the heater whenever it begins to overheat. If it does overheat switch off the heater, remove mains plug from wall socket and allow to cool down for 45 minutes. The heater will work again when cooled. Carefully check prior to using again that the reason for overheating was not curtains, clothing, furniture etc covering any of the heaters air vents. Turn off the appliance and unplug from socket when not in use. Allow to cool down prior to cleaning. Use a damp cloth for clean and a dry cloth to dry. Do not use cleaning chemicals. Do not use the product in areas where petrol, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored. If the power cord is damaged it must be replaced by a service agent or a equivalent qualified electrician. Do not continue to use until repaired, as it may cause a hazard. This appliance is not intended to be used by young children or disabled persons unless they have been adequately supervised by a responsible adult to ensure the appliance is used correctly and safely. Young children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product. To protect against fire, electrical shock and injury to persons, do not immerse the appliance power cord or plug in water or other liquid. This appliance is intended for use indoor only. Avoid overheating do not cover the heater with towels, curtains, clothing etc. Never use the heater to dry clothing or similar items, or handle the plug with wet hands. Ensure the heater is installed so that the switches and other controls cannot be touched by a person in the bath or shower. Must not be installed in a bathroom or in any area containing a bath, shower, washbasin or close to water or wet items. Ensure the appliance is securely fixed to the wall and is correctly positioned level. The appliance should be placed no less than 150mm from a barrier/wall on all sides - top, bottom, left and right. Always unplug, wait for appliance to cool down, and store when not in use. This product must not be disposed together with the domestic waste. This product has to be disposed of at an authorised site for recycling of electrical and electronic appliances. By collecting and recycling waste, you help save natural resources and ensure the product is disposed of in a safe and environmentally friendly way.
3 INSTALLATION GUIDE 1. When mounting the heater on to the wall ensure the heater is unplugged from the mains socket and all power switches are turned off. A suitable wall mounting area requires at least 150mm of empty clearance on ALL four sides. 2. Detach the mounting bracket from the back of the panel heater by pushing down on the top bracket and then pulling the top brackets out. The bottom section will then slide down and out, releasing the mounting bracket. 3. Position the bracket on the wall in the desired location and mark the holes on the wall for drilling, making sure the bracket is level. Drill holes to a suitable depth and secure the mounting bracket to the wall with the four mounting screws supplied. For masonry walls use the wall plugs with screws provided. 4. Hang up the heater on the brackets and secure; Firstly locate the heater onto the lower bracket and push back to locate and click the upper brackets into position. Check heater is secure and plug heater into mains socket. 2 1

5 1. The function module The function module is equipped with an accurate thermal cut-out. It has a built-in timer with 13 programs, of which 12 are factory set and one is available for user programming. 2. Setting the Day and Time When first installed, or whenever the panel heater has been disconnected from the mains supply, the Day and Time will need to be set. To make changes to the LCD module settings the cover has to be removed by unscrewing the single locking screw 1. Press the timer button 8 2. The current Day setting will flash 3. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the correct day 4. Press the timer button 8 5. The current Hour setting will flash 6. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the correct hour 7. Press the timer button 8 8. The current Minute setting will flash 9. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the correct minute 10. Press the timer button The timer setting program will terminate and the selected day and time will be saved. 3. Temperature Selection The panel heater works with 2 temperature settings: A level setting and a high level setting. Each of these has to be set when the panel heater is installed. The default settings are 17 o C for the low level and 22 o C for the high level. To alter the default settings: 1. Remove the LCD panel cover 2. Press the temperature button 5 3. The high level temperature setting will be displayed 4. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the required temperature. The high level temperature range is 9 o C to 30 o C. 5. Press the temperature button 5 6. The low level temperature setting will be displayed 7. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the required temperature. The low level temperature range is 5 o C to 26 o C. 8. Press the temperature button 5 9. The temperature setting program will terminate and the selected high and low temperatures will be saved.
6 4. Description of Programs There are 13 programs which switch the heating between Level and High Level at various times of the day and night. 12 of these are pre-set and cannot be altered. The UP program can be defined by the user. The table below shows the /High times for each of the programs. 7 4.2 Selecting a program To select any of the programs: 1. Press the program select button 6 2. The current selected program will be displayed 3. Use the Up 9 and Down 10 buttons to select the required program 4. Press the program select button 6 5. The program select option will terminate and the selected program will be saved and used to control the panel heater 4.3 Changing the settings for the user program (UP) To program the heating settings for the UP program: 1. Press the program select button 6 2. The current selected program will be displayed 3. Use the Up 9 or Down 10 buttons to select the UP program 4. Press the Prog button Monday s 24 hour programming screen will be displayed 6. The 24 hour program is divided into half hour time slots and each has to be programmed. There are 2 options for each half hour slot. These can be set to either high level using the UP button 9 or low level using the DOWN button When all the 24 hour time slots have been programmed the timer display will show 00:00 8. Press timer button 8 and the next 24 hour period will be displayed. 9. Repeat steps 6 to 8 until all 7 days have been programmed with the required heating settings. 10. After 5 seconds the programming screen will end and the user settings saved. The UP program will be run with the current day settings displayed. 4.4 Copying 24-hour program In the UP program a 24 hour period s settings can be copied from 1 day to the next to save having to program each day individually. 1. Repeat steps 1 to 7 above to program a 24 hour period 2. Press copy button 7 3. Press timer button 8 4. Press copy button 7 5. The 1 st days settings are now copied into the 2 nd day 6. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for all subsequent days that are to have the same settings. 4.5 Terminate the week s programs Press the Programming button (11) again to terminate the week s programs, when you finish the programming from Monday to Sunday. The control panel will now show the correct day, program type UP, the temperature corresponding red or green light, and the program sequence for the present day. The program is now active and running. The program is stored and will not be lost when a factory-set program is used. 5 Locking the control panel 5.1 Electronic locking Press button (9) and (10) at the same time until the padlock symbol appears on the display. All the control functions will now be locked and buttons will no longer operate. Do the same button sequence again to unlock the controls and the padlock symbol will disappear. 5.2 Mechanical locking The cover over the LCD display can be removed/locked in place with the screw located in the cover.
