This manual uses a series of symbols and signal words intended to convey the level of importance of the safety messages. The progression of symbols is described below. Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, WILL result in death or serious injury. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, COULD result in death or serious injury. NOTICE Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, MAY result in minor or moderate injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe practices. This symbol is used to alert the user to useful information about proper operation of the machine.

5 Sanitizing Components of this meat grinder are NOT dishwasher safe! Also, do NOT use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners, as this will corrode steel and discolor plastic parts. Do not place motor housing in water doing so will damage it. Wipe up motor housing with damp cloth and use an appropriate surface cleaner to sanitize. Cleaning To clean the disassembled components: When applying sanitizers, always follow the recommendations on the manufacturer s label, and make sure that the product will do the job for which you intend. Never use a product that will cause exposed surfaces to render meat unsafe for human consumption. Failure to follow this warning may lead to sickness or death! 5. Always be as thorough as possible when cleaning. Any parts that have been exposed to raw meat may harbor or develop bacteria that may cause illness or death if left uncleaned. Bacteria from raw meat has been frequently linked to illness and even death! Describing proper meat handling techniques outside of cleaning the meat grinder is beyond the scope of these instructions. If you are unclear about sanitary meat handling practices, contact your local Board of Health or the USDA to research the proper methods.

7 Grinding Follow these tips for best results: 2. Tip: To avoid overheating the motor, let it cool for 10 minutes after every 10 minutes of continuous use. OFF Shredder/Slicer Assembly To assemble the shredder/slicer: Only use the included meat push stick when feeding food into the grinding head. Do NOT push food into the throat with your fingers they could easily be cut or severed! Also, never use metal utensils because these could damage the grinder Figure 11 To grind meat: 1. Figure 10 Note: The I/II switch only allows forward or reverse operation when "I" or ""II" is selected correctly. The "I" position is used when the ON/OFF/R switch is turned ON. 8 Shredding and Slicing Only use the included push stick when feeding food into the shredder/slicer. Do NOT push food into the throat with your fingers they could easily be cut or severed! Always disconnect grinder from power, then use a spatula or wooden spoon to remove food. 9. OFF Tip: A rule of thumb is to add an amount of water equal to 8% of the weight of the meat. Water will improve the flow of meat through the stuffing tube. 3.
