When do I need to use primary/secondary piping with the Greenstar Boiler? ntroducing the Buderus SB line stainless steel commercial condensing boilers. Our newest commercial boiler is being introduced under the Bosch brand, but will maintain a strong identity with the Buderus name as the product category. The Buderus SB series high mass design is perfect for large applications, it can be used with multiple fuels and is available with inputs from 563 to 5,443 MBH. Primary secondary piping is used when more than one zone of heating is being installed or when you are doing a single zone of radiant through a manifold. When is not needed. If an indirect water heater is used in conjunction with a space heating zone you should also use primary secondary piping. The reason for this is, in a multi zone the primary/secondary would put the boiler pump in series with zoning pumps. This could cause velocity noise and pipe erosion. If the gauge shows a pressure different then what the screen shows, it could be a dirty pressure sensor, or a broken connection back to the UBA module. Try to clean the pressure sensor out, you can use our Technical Service Bulletin TBG-8 to clean the pressure sensor. Check the connection to the pressure sensor to ensure there is no rust on the female harness plug, and that the male pins are intact. If you still have issues, then you can replace the pressure sensor. Make up Air Make sure you do the math when sizing and installing any heating apparatus oil or gas if you are using inside air for combustion. The national code book references 50 cubic ft. of air. This makes it imperative that the caller is in possession of a working digital multimeter (and knows how to use it) and is trained in the skills required to work on live electricity safely.
