If wall mounted the fire would require a small plinth to support the ashpan which is not attached to the main fire. NB: Most of the fires installed with the requirement of a Plinth are primarily intended for ground level installation with a back panel and hearth. If raised some of the inner workings may become more visible than intended. Due to the sheer number of varying flue boxes and pre-cast flues it is not possible to advise on which fires are suitable until the existing fire has been removed. If the width at the rear of the pre-cast flue starter blocks is less than 300mm wide the minimum depth of the opening will be not less than 154mm. > Balanced flue fires can be installed inset/semi-inset into the wall cavity with the 3 spacer, or flat against the wall with the 5 spacer.
