Make sure you do not discard the hardware. CAUTION Use care in assembling your new fireplace. Take your time and use the hardware provided and a quality Phillips head screwdriver. Never overtighten bolts. Do not sit on any part of the mantel. All panels are labeled left and right as viewed from the front of unit. 3

5 PREPARATION Before beginning assembly of product, make sure all parts are present. Compare parts with package contents list and diagram above. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install or operate the product. Contact customer service for replacement parts. Estimated Assembly Time: 60 Minutes Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Phillips head screwdriver, scissors and utility knife ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS 1. Locate the Center Front Panel (D), Right Front Panel (C) and Left Front Panel (B) and set out face down on a scratch-free surface. Insert one Wood Dowel () into each of the pre-drilled holes. Push the Right Front Panel and Left Front Panel snug to the Center Panel. Make sure the Wood Dowels are seated in the pre-drilled holes. Insert Bolts () and Washers () into the holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Fig. 1 D Hardware Used B Bolt x 4 C Washer x 4 Wood Dowel x 4 2. Locate Hearth/Base (A) and set out finished side up on the floor. Insert one Wood Dowel () into each of the pre- drilled holes. Attach the completed Front panel assembly from step 1 to the Hearth/Base (A). Make sure the dowels are seated into the pre-drilled holes in the Hearth/Base. Using Bolts () and Washers () attach panels through pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Hardware Used Fig. 2 Bolt x 2 Washer x 2 Wood Dowel x 4 A 4

6 3. Locate Left Side Panel (E) and Right Side Panel (F), insert one Wood Dowel () into each of the pre-drilled holes. Attach to the completed front panel assembly and Hearth/Base use Bolts () and Washers () through the pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Fig. 3 E Hardware Used Bolt Washer x 6 x 6 F Wood Dowel x 4 4. Insert one Wood Dowel () into each of the pre-drilled holes on the top edges of the Assembly from step 3. Then locate Mantel/Top (G) and lay finished side up on top of completed assembly. From the inside, attach Mantel/Top (G) using Bolts () and Washers () through the pre-drilled holes in the mounting blocks. HAND TIGHTEN ONLY. Using Phillips head screwdriver tighten all Bolts alternating top and bottom, left and right. Hardware Used Bolt Washer x 3 x 3 Fig. 4 G Wood Dowel x 4 5. Remove the two mounting brackets attached to the back of the Left and Right Front panels. Set aside with the wood screws. PLEASE READ ALL ELECTRIC FIREPLACE INSERT INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLING ELECTRIC INSERT IN YOUR COMPLETED FIREPLACE MANTEL. INSTALL THE INSERT IN YOUR FIREPLACE CLOSE TO ITS FINAL POSITION. Lift insert carefully into the back of the unit and center in the insert opening. Do not drag insert across Hearth/Base (A) as it may scratch your unit. Install the mounting brackets to hold insert flush against the inside of the mantel front panel. MOVE YOUR COMPLETED UNIT ONLY SHORT DISTANCES. MOVE COMPLETED UNIT WITH GREAT CARE. Asegúrese de no desechar los herrajes. PRECAUCIÓN Tenga cuidado al armar su nueva chimenea. Tómese su tiempo y use los elementos suministrados y un destornillador Phillips de calidad. No apriete demasiado los pernos. No se siente en ninguna parte de la repisa de la chimenea. Todos los paneles están etiquetados izquierda y derecha, vistos desde el frente de la unidad. 8

10 PREPARACIÓN Antes de empezar el montaje del producto, asegúrese de que todas las partes estén presentes. Compare las piezas con la lista de empaque del paquete y el diagrama de arriba. Tome el Panel Delantero Central (D), el Panel Delantero Derecho (C) y el Panel Delantero Izquierda (B) y colóquelos con la cara hacia abajo sobre la superficie sin marcas. Inserte una Espiga De Madera () en cada uno de los orifi cios previamente perforados. Ajuste correctamente el Panel Delantero Derecho y el Panel Delantero Izquierda al Panel Central. Compruebe que las Espigas De Madera estén bien colocadas en los orificios correspondientes. Inserte un Pernos () y una Arandelas () en los orifi cios de los bloques de montaje. AJUSTE SÓLO MANUALMENTE. Fig. 1 D B Herrajes utilizados C Perno x 4 Arandela x 4 Clavija De Madera x 4 2. Tome la Base Del Hogar (A) y colóquela sobre el piso con la parte terminada hacia arriba. Inserte una Espiga De Madera () en cada uno de los orificios previamente perforados. Ajuste el conjunto Delantero, que armó en el paso 1, a la Base Del Hogar (A). Compruebe que las espigas estén bien colocadas en los orificios correspondientes de la Base del Hogar. Para ajustar los paneles, pase un Pernos () y una Arandelas () por los orificios previamente perforados de los bloques de montaje. AJUSTE SÓLO MANUALMENTE. Localice el Panel Lateral Izquierda (E) y el Panel Lateral Derecho (F) e inserte una clavija De Madera () en cada uno de los orificios pretaladrados, que se encuentran en el reborde inferior de los paneles. Después, inserte un Pernos () y una Arandelas () a través de los orificios pretaladrados de los bloques para montaje. Fije los el paneles laterales a la Base (A). APRIETELOS SOLAMENTE A MANO Herrajes utilizados Fig. 3 E Perno x 6 F Arandela x 6 Clavija De Madera x 4 4. Inserte una Espiga De Madera () en cada uno de los orificios previamente perforados del borde superior del Conjunto que armó en el paso 3. Luego, tome la Repisa/Parte Superior (G) y colóquela, con el lado acabado hacia arrinba, sobre el conjunto armado. Desde el interior, ajuste la Repisa colocando un Pernos () y una Arandelas () en los orificios previamente perforados de los bloques de montaje. AJUSTE SÓLO MANUALMENTE. Utilizando un destornillador Phillips (cruciforme), apriete todos los pernos, alternando entre la parte superior e inferior, la izquierda y la derecha. Herrajes utilizados Fig. 4 G Perno x 3 Arandela x 3 Clavija De Madera x 4 5. Quite los dos soportes de montaje fijados en la parte trasera de los paneles Izquierda y derecho. Coloque a un lado los tornillos para madera. LEA ATENTAMENTE TODAS LAS INSTRUIONES DEL HOGAR ELÉCTRICO ANTES DE SU INSTALACIÓN EN LA CHIMENEA DECORATIVA. UBIQUE EL HOGAR ELÉCTRICO EN LA POSICIÓN DEFINITIVA DENTRO DE LA CHIMENEA. Levante el hogar cuidadosamente, colóquelo en la parte posterior de la unidad y céntrelo en la abertura de la chimenea. No empuje el hogar desde su Base dado que la unidad se puede dañar. Coloque los soportes de montaje de modo que el hogar se encuentre nivelado con respecto a la parte interior del panel frontal de la repisa. MUEVA LA UNIDAD COMPLETA SÓLO EN DISTANCIAS CORTAS. MUEVA LA UNIDAD COMPLETA CON MUCHO CUIDADO. Assurez-vous de ne pas jeter de matériel. MISE EN GARDE Faites preuve de prudence dans l assemblage de votre nouvelle cheminée. Prenez votre temps et utilisez le matériel fourni et un tournevis cruciforme de qualité. Ne serrez pas trop les boulons. Ne vous asseyez pas sur des pièces du manteau. Tous les panneaux sont étiquetés de gauche et de Droit quand on les regarde en se tenant face à la cheminée. 13

15 PRÉPARATION Avant de commencer l assemblage du produit, assurez-vous que toutes les pièces sont présentes. Comparez les pièces avec la liste du contenu de la boîte et le schéma ci-dessus. Si une pièce est manquante ou endommagée, n essayez pas d assembler, d installer ou de faire fonctionner le produit. Communiquez avec le service à la clientèle pour obtenir des pièces de rechange. Durée d assemblage estimée : 60 minutes Outils requis pour l assemblage (non inclus) : Tournevis cruciforme, ciseaux et couteau universel INSTRUCTIONS POUR L ASSEMBLAGE 1. Trouvez le Panneau Avant Central (D), le Panneau Avant De Droit (C) et le Panneau Avant De Gauche (B) et déposez-les, le côté fini vers le sol, sur une surface où ils ne pourront être égratignés. Insérez un Goujon En Bois () dans chacun des trous pré-percés. Poussez les panneaux avant de Droit et de gauche de chaque côté du panneau central. Assurez-vous que les goujons en bois soient bien assis dans les trous pré-percés. Insérez les Boulons () et les Rondelles () dans les trous des blocs de montage. SERRER À LA MAIN SEULEMENT. Fig. 1 D B Matériel utilisé C Boulon x 4 Rondelle x 4 Goujon en bois x 4 2. Retrouver la base (A) et placer cette pièce sur le plancher, en dirigeant le côté fini vers le haut. Insérer un goujon en bois () dans chacun des orifices préperforés. Fixer l assemblage de la façade déjà complétée à l étape 1 à la base (A). S assurer que les goujons en bois sont installés adéquatement dans les orifices préperforés de la base. À l aide d un boulons () et d une rondelles (), fixer les panneaux dans les orifices préperforés des blocs de montage. SERRER UNIQUEMENT À LA MAIN. 16 3. Retrouver le panneau latéral gauche (E) et le panneau latéral droit (F) et insérer un goujon en bois () dans chacun des orifices préperforés situés sur les rebords inférieurs des panneaux. Par la suite, insérer un boulons () et une rondelles () dans les orifices préperforés des blocs de montage. Fixer les panneaux latéraux à la base (A). SERRER UNIQUEMENT À LA MAIN. Matériel utilisé Fig. 3 E Boulon Rondelle x 6 x 6 F Goujon en bois x 4 4. Insérez un Goujon En Bois () dans chacun des trous pré-percés de la bordure supérieure du panneau assemblé à l étape 3. Trouvez ensuite le Manteau/Dessus (G). Déposez le côté fi ni du manteau sur le dessus du panneau entièrement monté. De l intérieur, fixez le manteau à l aide d un Boulons () et d une Rondelles (), en les insérant dans les trous pré-percés des blocs de montage. SERRER À LA MAIN SEULEMENT. Avec un tournevis cruciforme, serrez tous les goujons, en alternant entre le haut et le bas, la gauche et la Droit. Matériel utilisé Boulon Rondelle x 3 x 3 Fig. 4 G Goujon en bois x 4 5. Retirez les deux brides de montage fixées à l arrière des panneaux avant de gauche et de Droit. Mettez-les de côté, avec les vis à bois. VEUILLEZ LIRE TOUTES LES INSTRUCTIONS D INSTALLATION DU FOYER ÉLECTRIQUE ENCASTRABLE AVANT D INSTALLER LE FOYER DANS LE MANTEAU, UNE FOIS CELUI-CI ASSEMBLÉ. INSTALLEZ LE FOYER DANS L ESPACE PRÉVU, PRÈS DE SA POSITION FINALE. Soulevez doucement le foyer encastrable pour le déposer par l arrière du manteau, dans le centre de l ouverture de celui-ci. Ne pas tirer le foyer encastrable sur Âtre/Base (A) car cela pourrait égratigner la base du manteau. Installez les brides de montage pour ainsi garder le foyer encastrable à égalité avec l intérieur du manteau. NE DÉPLACEZ LE FOYER ENTIÈREMENT MONTÉ QUE SUR DE COURTES DISTANCES. DÉPLACEZ L UNITÉ MONTÉE AVEC SOIN. 18 IMPORTANT INSTRUCTION When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock, and injury to persons including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using this appliance. 2. This appliance is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. If provided, use handles when moving this appliance. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of this appliance and keep away from the sides and the rear. WARNING: In order to avoid overheating, do not cover the heater. It cannot be used in a wardrobe. 3. CAUTION: Whenever the heater is left operating and unattended, extreme caution is necessary if children or invalids are nearby. 4. The appliance is not to be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction. 5. Children being supervised not to play with the appliance. 6. Always unplug this appliance when not in use. 7. Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or if it has been dropped or damaged in any manner. 8. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. 9. Any repairs to this fireplace should be carried out by a qualified service person. 10. Under no circumstance should this fireplace be modified. Parts having to be removed for servicing must be replaced prior to operating this fireplace again. 11. Do not use outdoors. 12. This heater is not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations. Never locate this appliance where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container. 13. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or the like. Arrange cord away from traffic areas and where it will not be tripped over. 14. To disconnect this appliance, turn controls to the off position, then remove plug from outlet. 15. Connect to properly grounded outlets only. 16. This appliance, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the current CSA C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code or for U.S.A. installations, follow local codes and the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA NO There is a thermostat limiter inside the heater. When the inner temperature over heating or occurs abnormal heating, the thermostat protective device would cut off power supply to avoid the fireplace damaged or risk of fire. E The heaters must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet. 19. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the appliance. 20. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where opening may become blocked. 21. This appliance has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint or flammable liquids are used or stored. This fireplace should not be used as a drying rack for clothing. Christmas stockings or decorations should not be hung in the area of it. 22. Use this appliance only as described in the manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury to persons. 23. Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and cause risk of fire. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord must be No.14 AWG minimum size and rated not less than 1875 Watts (15A). The extension cord must be a three wire cord with grounding type plug and cord connection. The extension cord shall not be more than 20 feet (6 m) in length. 24. See directions in Figure 1. This heater is for use on 120 volts. The cord has a plug as shown in figure 1. See Figure 1 for grounding instruction. An adapter as shown at C is available for connecting three-blade grounding type plugs to two-slot receptacles. The green grounding plug extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box. The adapter should not be used if a three-slot grounded receptacle is available. 19 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Position your completed mantel close to its final location. Make sure you can access the back of the mantel as your Electric Fireplace Insert will be installed from the back. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws and the metal mounting brackets attached on either side of the fireplaces center opening. Next unpack the Electric Fireplace Insert carefully. Position the insert behind the fireplace with front facing the wood mantel. With the help of an adult assistant, lift the Insert and gently slide it into the opening in the mantel until the flange is flush against the inside of the mantel. Make sure insert is centered left and right in the opening. Be careful when placing insert and adjusting, bottom of insert could scratch the finish of the base/hearth of your fireplace. Re-attach the mounting brackets with the Phillips head screwdriver, and supplied screws. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN. With the help of an assistant, carefully lift completed unit and place it with the front facing out in the final location you have chosen for your fireplace. Make sure to secure the electrical cord before lifting or moving completed fireplace. When choosing a final location, make sure you will have clear access to a grounded electrical outlet. Read and follow all instructions in this manual before operating your new fireplace. 20 MANTEL LOCATION When choosing a location for your new fireplace, ensure that the general instructions are followed. Also, for best effect, install the fireplace out of direct sunlight. Cold climate installation recommendation: when installing this unit against a non-insulated exterior wall or chase, it is mandatory that the outer walls be insulated to conform to applicable insulation codes. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION A 15 AMP, 120 Volt, 60 Hz circuit with a properly grounded outlet is required. Preferably, the fireplace will be on a dedicated circuit as other appliances on the same circuit may cause the circuit breaker to trip or the fuse to blow when the heater is in operation. The unit comes standard with 6 feet (1.8 m) three wire cord, exiting from the rear of the fireplace. Plan the installation to avoid the use of an extension cord. If an extension cord must be used, it must be a minimum 14 AWG, three wires with grounding type plug connector and rated not less than 1875 Watts. The cord shall not be more than 20 feet (6 m) in length. CLEANING TRIM Clean the metal trim using a soft cloth, slightly dampened with citrus oil based product and buff with a clean soft cloth. DO NOT use brass polish or household cleaners as these products will damage the metal trim. Citrus oil based products can be obtained at supermarkets or hardware stores. MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE The motors used on the fan and the flame generator assembly are pre-lubricated for extended bearing life and require no further lubrication. However, periodic cleaning/vacuuming of the fan/heater unit is recommended. Make sure the unit is turned OFF and unplugged whenever you are cleaning the heater or fireplace. WARNING: Make sure the power is turned off before proceeding. Any electrical repairs or rewiring of this unit should be carried out by a licensed electrician in accordance with national and local codes. TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDE If repairing or replacing any electrical component or wiring, the original wire routing, color coding and securing locations must be followed. WARNING: Electrical outlet wiring must comply with local building codes and other applicable regulations to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock and injury to persons. WARNING: Do not use this fireplace if any part of it has been under water. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the fireplace and replace any part of the electrical system. Warning: Disconnect power before attempting any maintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk of fire, electrical shock or personal injury. Warning: During any service of this appliance, the power to the unit must be turned off. First turn the main power switch to the OFF position. Then remove the electrical plug from the wall outlet.

21 OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS CONTROL FUNCTIONS TO AESS CONTROL PANEL- Control panel can be accessed at upper-right corner of insert. - POWER The power button supplies power to all of the functions of the fireplace. The power button will put the insert in a standby mode. This will turn off all functions at once but will hold the settings in the memory. By pressing the Power button again the unit will turn on at the same settings. NOTE: Holding the POWER button on the control panel for 10 second will disable the heater function. Pressing and holding for another 10 seconds will re-enable. - FLAME Each time the flame button is pressed, the intensity of the flame decreases. There are 5 brightness levels and the OFF setting. - EMBERS Adjust undulating emberbed effect. There are 3 levels including the OFF setting. HI - LO and OFF are the three settings. - HEAT Your fireplace consists of a fan forced wire element type heater. There are 11 thermostat levels and the OFF or always ON settings. NOTE: This button on the remote control only turns ON and OFF the heater function. Use TEMP ( & ) on the remote control to adjust the thermostat. NOTE: To change between F and C press and hold the HEATER button on the control panel for 10 seconds. - TIMER Press the TIMER button will cycle through the 10 timer settings (30 minutes, 1 Hour, 2H, 3H, 4H, 5H, 6H, 7H, 8H and 9H) and the OFF setting. < < Figure 3 23EF025GRA 28/33EF025GRS - DOWNLIGHT (28EF025GRS and 33EF025GRS only) The downlight illuminates the inside of the firebox. There are two downlight settings on and undulating downlight. 22 Note: When a function is changed from the control panel or remote control there will be a corresponding indicator (see Figure 6) on the upper-right of the projection screen. The indicator shows the function changed and the level selected by the control panel or remote control. When the function is turned off, the corresponding indicator will flash several times and then fade off. REPLACING THE REMOTE CONTROL BATTERY Figure 6 on the upper-right of front projection screen When the remote control stops operating or its range seems reduced, it is time to replace the battery with a new one. 1. The battery compartment is located on the back end of the remote. 2. Press and slide the battery door open and remove the old battery. 3. Insert a CR2032 battery, checking that the + and - terminals of the battery matches the inside of the battery compartment. 4. Replace the battery compartment door. DISPOSAL OF USED BATTERIES Battery may contain hazardous substances which could endanger the environment and human health. This symbol marked on the battery and/ or packaging indicates that used battery shall not be treated as municipal waste. Batteries should be disposed of at an appropriate collection point for recycling. By ensuring the used batteries are disposed of correctly, you will help preventing potential negative consequences for the environment and human health. The recycling of materials will help to converse natural resources. For more information about recycling of used batteries, please contact your local municipality waste disposal service. NOTE: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the F Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. 23 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE MODELS: 23EF025GRA, 28EF025GRS & 33EF025GRS PROBLEM 1. No power, logs do not glow 2. Logs glow, but no flame effect. SOLUTION 1a. Check that unit is plugged into a standard powered 120V outlet. 1b. Press power button several times, make sure power is set at "ON" position. 2a. Press flame button several times. 3. Down lights (28EF025GRS & 33EF025GRS only) do not light up. 4. Heater does not blow warm air. 5. Heater doesn t work, but Power and Heater settings are "ON" and thermostat is set (see solution 4a.) 6. Flame effect works but heater function does not and the emberbed flashes when the heater button is pressed. 3a. Press downlight button several times to make sure downlight is "ON". 4a. Adjust the thermostat to ensure that the temperture is set higher than the current room temperature. 5a.Turn the POWER to "OFF" and unplug the unit from the wall outlet for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes plug the unit back into wall outlet, and operate as normal. 6a. Heater function is locked. Press and hold the POWER button for 10 seconds to unlock the heater function. E-7

24 TEN YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY (PLUG & PLAY ELECTRIC FIREPLACE) Twin-Star International, Inc. (the Company ) warrants to the original purchaser of a new ClassicFlame Plug & Play Electric Fireplace (the Fireplace ) is free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of original retail purchase from a qualified/authorized Twin-Star dealer, subject to the following terms, conditions and limitations. This warranty is for the USA and Canada only. I. What this limited warranty covers and for how long The Company warrants Fireplace components, other than fireplace surrounds (mantels) to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of ten (10) years from the date of the original retail purchase, as follows: (a) repair or replacement of defective products or parts (including in-home services) for the first one (1) year following the date of original retail purchase, as described in Part IV below; and (b) thereafter, replacement of defective products or parts (with no in-home services) for the remainder of the ten (10) year warranty term, as described in Part IV below. The Company warrants Fireplace surrounds (mantels) covered by this limited warranty to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase of such products, as follows: replacement of defective products or parts (with no in-home services) as further described in Part IV below. II. What this limited warranty does not cover This limited warranty does not apply to damages are covered by this limited warranty. This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the Fireplace from a qualified/authorized Twin-Star dealer in the USA or Canada, and is not transferable. (a) replacement of Fireplace light bulbs, (b) Fireplace components that have been repaired (except by the Company or its authorized service representatives) or otherwise altered or modified, (c) damage, malfunction or defects resulting from shipping or transit, misuse, abuse, accident, neglect, incorrect installation, improper maintenance or handling, or operation with an incorrect power source, (d) damage from fire, water, lightning, power surges, abnormal environmental conditions or other acts of nature, and (e) normal wear and tear. The Company reserves the right to assess all warranty claims and to determine if the claimed defects or damages are covered by this limited warranty. This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the Fireplace from a qualified/authorized Twin-Star dealer in the USA or Canada, and is not transferable. III. What you must do to get service under this limited warranty For warranty service, please contact the Company by phone at , or by mail at 1690 South Congress Ave., Suite 210 Delray Beach, FL 33445, USA. Please have proof of purchase, catalogue/model, manufacturer s date code and serial numbers available when calling. Proof of purchase showing the original purchase date and location is required to obtain warranty service. IV. What the Company will do in the event of a covered warranty claim In the event a Fireplace component covered by this limited warranty is proven to be defective in material or workmanship during the applicable warranty period, then the Company will provide warranty service in accordance with the following: For valid warranty claims on Fireplace components, other than fireplace surrounds (mantels), made prior to the first anniversary of the date of original retail purchase, the Company will elect in its sole discretion to either repair or replace the covered defective product or part without charge. If the Company is unable to repair or replace the covered defective product or part, or if repair or replacement is not commercially practicable or cannot be timely made, the Company may elect in its sole discretion, in lieu of repair or replacement, to refund the purchase price for the defective product or part. Warranty services under this paragraph include any applicable on-site or in-home warranty services, and the Company will be responsible for all labor and transportation costs associated with the repair or replacement of the defective product or part, except as follows: (i) you will be charged for reasonable transportation costs incurred for travel to and from the site where the defective product is located if the distance to such locations is more than thirty (30) miles (48 km) from the Company s closest authorized service agent or dealer; and (ii) you are solely responsible for providing clear access to all serviceable parts of the defective product, and you will be charged at the Company s customary rates for delays resulting from failure to provide such clear access and/or any additional services provided by the Company to provide such clear access. 25 For valid warranty claims on Fireplace components, other than fireplace surrounds (mantels), made between the first anniversary of the date of original retail purchase and prior to the tenth anniversary of the date of original retail purchase, the Company will elect in its sole discretion to either repair or replace the covered defective product or part without charge. If the Company is unable to repair or replace the covered defective product or part, or if repair or replacement is not commercially practicable or cannot be timely made, the Company may elect in its sole discretion, in lieu of replacement, to refund the purchase price for the defective product or part. Warranty services under this paragraph do not include on-site or in-home warranty services, and you will be solely responsible for all expenses incurred for the removal of the defective product or part and installation of the replacement product or part, including, without limitation, all labor costs and all shipping and transportation costs to and from the Company and/or its authorized dealer or service agent. For valid warranty claims on fireplace surrounds (mantels) made prior to the first anniversary of the date of original retail purchase, the Company will elect in its sole discretion to either repair or replace the covered defective product or part without charge. If the Company is unable to repair or replace the covered defective product or part, or if repair or replacement is not commercially practicable or cannot be timely made, the Company may elect in its sole discretion, in lieu of replacement, to refund the purchase price for the defective product or part. Warranty services under this paragraph do not include on-site or in-home warranty services, and you will be solely responsible for all expenses incurred for the removal of the defective product or part and installation of the replacement product or part, including, without limitation, all labor costs and all shipping and transportation costs to and from the Company and/or its authorized dealer or service agent. On-site or in-home services not covered by this limited warranty may be performed at your specific request and expense, at the Company s customary rates for such services. V.
