2 Ultrasonic Screening Technology Screening and processing can be achieved with either manual, semi-automatic or fullyautomatic technologies and over various screening stages. The most important aspect of screening, therefore, is the technology. The appropriate technology is instrumental in determining throughput, particle size and separation efficiency etc., with the finest mesh size and materials difficult to screen. This applies in particular to production facilities in the chemical, pharmaceutical, food, plastics, metallurgy and minerals industries. In such industries, there is a strong demand for an extremely high screening standard with minimum waste. SONOSCREEN - vibratory screening machine with ultrasonic screening system Conventional screening technologies are based essentially on a vibrating/tumbling motion of the screen responsible for throughput and separation of oversized particles. Ultrasonic Screening Technology superimposes an additional, even, oscillation motion in the µm range on the fabric of the screen. 3 SONOSCREEN Standard Screening System On the SONOSCREEN standard screening system, the screen fabric is excited from a central source. The homogenous sound distribution outside and inside of the resonator-ring causes a consistent increase in the screening performance over the entire surface of the screen. Even very large screen frames of diameters up to 2600 mm can be evenly excited using several ring resonators. The patented SONOSCREEN technology enables square, oval and circular screen frames to be retrofitted with ultrasound. This system is therefore suitable for upgrading all tumbling and vibratory screening machines.
