It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death. Read and understand all instructions When using the Mini Photo Studios, safety precautions should always be followed including the following: Work Area Safety Close supervision is necessary when Mini Photo Studio is used by or near children. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles during service and use. Keep the work area well lit. Make sure there is adequate surrounding workspace. Keep the work area free of obstructions and other debris. WARNING indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. CAUTION, used with the safety alert symbol, indicates a hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor or moderate injury. Electrical Safety Do not operate the Mini Photo Studio with a damaged cord or plug. Do not use this product in a damp or wet location. Do not use bulbs greater than 20W. 3 Grounding To prevent electric shock and death from incorrect grounding wire connection: Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool. Never remove the grounding prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged, have it repaired by a service facility before use. If the plug will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician. Grounded Tools: Tools with Three Prong Plugs of electric shock. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.) The grounding prong in the plug is connected through the green wire inside the cord to the grounding system in the tool. The green wire in the cord must be the only wire connected to the tool s grounding system and must never be attached to an electrically live terminal. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.) The tool must be plugged into an appropriate outlet, properly installed and grounded in accordance with all codes and ordinances. The plug and outlet should look like those in the preceding illustration. (See 3-Prong Plug and Outlet.) Double Insulated Tools: Tools with Two Prong Plugs Tools marked with Grounding Required have a three wire cord and three prong grounding plug. The plug must be connected to a properly grounded outlet. If the tool should electrically malfunction or break down, grounding provides a low resistance path to carry electricity away from the user, reducing the risk Tools marked Double Insulated do not require grounding. They have a special double insulation system which satisfies OSHA requirements and complies with the applicable standards of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., the Canadian Standard Association, and the National Electrical Code. 4 Double insulated tools may be used in either of the 120 volt outlets shown in the preceding illustration. (See Outlets for 2-Prong Plug.) Extension Cords Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord. Double Insulated tools can use either a two or three wire extension cord. As the distance from the supply outlet increases, you must use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage. (See Table A.) The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the cord. For example, a 14 gauge cord can carry a higher current than a 16 gauge cord. (See Table A.) When using more than one extension cord to make up the total length, make sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required. (See Table A.) 8. dition. 5 Power Cord Safety A short power supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long extension cord is used, a. the marked electrical rating of the (detachable power supply cord or) extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the Mini Photo Studio, b. if the product is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord, and c. the longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. General Safety The use of accessory attachments not recommended may cause injuries. Do not use Mini Photo Studio for other than intended use To reduce the risk of fire: Use in a dry location. Do not use near flammable materials. Make certain bulbs are cool before changing. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of reach of children when children are not being closely supervised. WARNING: Handling the cord on this product will expose you to lead, a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash hands after handling. (California Health & Safety Code , et seq.) The warnings, precautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator. Save these instructions. Maintain labels and nameplates on the Mini Photo Studio. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. 6 Material Flood Lamp Light Cord Studio Lights Specifications Unpacking Light: Black thermoplastic retractable legs, bright zinc plated, formed sheet steel, glass lens. Camera Stand: Steel bars with black enamel finish. Shaft: aluminum with silver anodized finish, and black foam feet. Standard GU L, 2-Prong Polarized (2) included, GU10-C 110V, 20W bulbs. When unpacking, check to make sure that the item is intact and undamaged. If any parts are missing or broken, please call Harbor Freight Tools at the number shown on the cover of this manual as soon as possible. Light Box Follow the steps below to assemble the Light Box. Figure 1 Assembly Read the entire Important Safeguards section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. Pull out and unfold the Light Box as illustrated above in Figure NOTE: Decide whether you want a background that reflects light (WHITE) or a background that blocks or absorbs light (GREY). Light Assembly Make certain Light Lens is sufficiently cool before handling it. Grasp Light in middle of Stand. Extend Legs by pulling down until fully extended. Fold up into place.

Tripod Extend Camera Stand so that it almost forms a U shape-see Assembly Diagram. Set the Tube on top of the Stand so that flat portion with screw is on top. Place Knob under Stand, and thread into Tube until Tube is firmly in placesee Assembly Diagram. Operation Read the entire Important Safeguards section at the beginning of this manual including all text under subheadings therein before set up or use of this product. To prevent accidents, turn off the Lights and disconnect its power supply after use. Store the Photo Studio indoors out of children s reach. Work area safety a. Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Light Set Up Figure 2 The key to effective use of the Light Box is to have good, soft and even light coming from either the side or the top Position the lights so that they are outside of the Light Box you unfolded and set-up on page 6. Place the Lights on the side or both sides of the Light Box so that light shines in through the material-see Figure Caution: Make certain the Bulb does not touch the material. You may also wish to move the Light Box into different positions so that you can achieve lighting from the top. Make certain that Lights are always stable and well supported during setup and use. Plug Light into outlet. Angle of Light can be adjusted by loosening Knob on side of Light and making adjustment, then tightening Knob to hold desired angle. 9. Check for loose screws, misalignment or binding of moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other condition that may affect its safe operation.
