4 HT300L Automated HPLC Sampling Works with any HPLC System! The HPLC autosampler HT300L is an automatic sampler designed to operate with virtually any HPLC system. The HT300L can perform full or partial loop injections into the 6-way vertical injection port valve with great precision because the injected quantity is handled by the syringe (and not only by the loop as is the case with pressurebased samplers). The unit uses a standard HPLC syringe and mimics manual injection but with greatly improved RSDs. The communication port of the sampler has a variety of input and output signals to ensure that it can interface with your system. Easy to Use The instrument can be programmed by the integrated keypad, or via a PC using HT-COMSoft-L or DataApex Clarity software. The HT300L HPLC autosampler offers a number of benefits. The sampler can pick up a reagent from one of the solvent positions, mix it with the sample via a set of mixing strokes then inject the sample into the HPLC system. This can be used to add chromophores or fluorescing agents to make the samples easier to detect. The HT300L has an HPLC valve with variable loop sizes depending on the application. Using up to 4 reagent vials, the system can move liquid from any vial in any position, to any other vial in any position, with no limit to the number of times, or the number of addition functions. 7 HT300LMEPS Automated MEPS & HPLC Sampling The HT300LMEPS is a proven HPLC autosampler that supports automated MEPS (Micro Extraction by Packed Sorbent) for HPLC in addition to the multiple features of the HT300LPlus HPLC autosampler. What is MEPS? MEPS is a new development in the fields of sample preparation and sample handling. MEPS is the miniaturisation of conventional SPE cartridges from millilitre to microlitre bed volumes. The MEPS approach to sample preparation is suitable for reversed phases, normal phases, mixed mode or ion exchange chemistries. MEPS is available in a variety of common SPE phases. Benefits of MEPS Historically, many sample preparation methods used liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) which required large volumes of sample, solvents and time. The advantages of SPE (Solid Phase Extraction) over LLE are that SPE takes much less time, can be developed into a fully automated technique, requires much less solvent and offers selectivity. MEPS performs the same functions as SPE the removal of interfering matrix components and the selective isolation and concentration of analytes. However, MEPS increases the advantages of conventional SPE in the following ways: MEPS works with much smaller samples than full scale SPE (as small as 10µl) MEPS can be fully automated the sample processing, extraction and injection steps are performed on-line using the same syringe MEPS is applicable for both GC and LC (see our other autosamplers) MEPS significantly reduces the time needed to prepare and inject samples MEPS considerably reduces the volume of solvents needed Syringe and Barrel Insert Needle (BIN) Assembly The MEPS product consists of two parts, the MEPS Syringe and the MEPS Barrel Insert and Needle Assembly (BIN). The BIN contains the SPE phase, and is built into the syringe needle. The BIN is used with a 100µl or 250µl gas tight MEPS syringe that allows fluid handling at normal SPE pressures. The BIN is easily changed when another phase is required or the current BIN is exhausted. MEPS Automation with the HT300LMEPS The HT300LMEPS offers the perfect platform for automated MEPS. The ability to prepare and inject samples on-line using a single device reduces sample processing time and the need for operator intervention. The HT300LMEPS works with all current MEPS syringes. 9 HT400E SPE Automated SPE & HPLC Sampling SPE Preparation and Injection The HT400E can reliably and accurately automate manual SPE (Solid Phase Extraction) procedures and automatically inject samples into an HPLC system. The HT400E can use up to 10 different solvents (4 as standard) to activate cartridges and wash and elute samples in different fractions. It has separate valves for syringe washing and can also add reagents to the eluent before injection. Washing and elution are performed at constant flow (no vacuum or gas pressure). This exceptionally high flow reproducibility and a zero dead volume plunger design ensure the best method for reproducibility and consistency. The HT400E uses standard 1ml or 3ml SPE cartridges and can process up to 20 separate samples sequentially. Each sample can have a multiple step methodology providing the flexibility required for complex processes.
