Don't put the appliance in direct sunlight. Don't put the appliance near stoves, fires or heaters. When correctly installed, your appliance should.... have adequate clearance to the back and sides for air circulation. be aligned to the surrounding cupboards. have doors that return to the closed position from a partially open position. (Manual push closing is still a requirement). Clearances Around Your Appliance Before you move your appliance into the place where it will operate, check that it will have adequate clearance. Clearance is required for air circulation and too little clearance may affect the performance of your appliance. We recommend minimum clearances of: 0mm on each side. mm above the refrigerator. 0mm minimum/ 7mm maximum clearance behind refrigerator. Top: mm Side: 0mm Side: 0mm Back: 0mm min. 7mm max.

Installing Your New Appliance: Installation The appliance should arrive with the front levelling feet wound up. The appliance may require to be tilted backward at the top by about 10-1mm from vertical. (See Diagram 1). This will allow the door to gravitate to the closed position. The complete closure of the door seal is reliant on manually pushing the door closed providing a consistent door seal. 1. Move the appliance to its final position.. If it is not tilting back as described above, minor adjustments can be made to the two front levelling legs by turning the feet in an anti-clockwise direction. (Diagram ). This will increase the height of the feet. If you have difficulty turning the foot, you could have someone tilt the appliance back so that you have better access. If it is not tilted back enough and the levelling legs are fully extended, additional packing might be required (see note 4 for appropriate materials).. Compare the alignment of the appliance to the surrounding cupboards. The top of the refrigerator / freezer should be level from side to side. (Diagram ). If you need to adjust the level, use the levelling feet as explained in step. 4. If the appliance now rocks from one corner to the opposite rear corner, this means the floor is uneven. You may need to put some packing under the ridge to the rear of the appliance. You could use thin pieces of solid material, such as thin board, vinyl floor tiles or laminate.. You may now need to fine-tune the installation by repeating steps, and Wipe off any dust that has accumulated during shipping and clean following the directions on page 18. Height adjustable front leveling legs Diagram 1 Diagram Parallel to cupboards 10-1mm Spirit level Diagram Adjust levelling leg or add packing if floor is uneven. 7. Plug the appliance into the power point. Don't use a double adaptor or extension cord. 8. It is recommended that you let the appliance operate for an hour or two (three hours for a freezer) before you put any food in it. This will confirm that it is operating correctly and make the conditions appropriate for food storage. Congratulations! You have successfully installed your refrigerator / freezer. Page 4

Refrigerator Operation This series of refrigerators has been fitted with a 'wet wall' evaporator, which is positioned behind the rear liner. The rear liner will, at times be wet or appear frosted. This is normal and demonstrates that the refrigerator is functioning correctly. Initial Start-up This product is designed to operate on a power supply of 0 / 40 volts 0 hertz. Connect to a separate power point with a correctly earthed three pin socket. Do not use double adaptors. Controlling The Temperature In Your Refrigerator The refrigerator transfers heat from food placed inside the refrigerator to the outside air. This process makes the rear, the sides and the area adjacent to the doors feel warm, particularly at the initial start up. This is normal. Make sure you fully close the refrigerator door after you load or remove food. If the door is left partly open, a heavy frost will coat the inside of the ice box. Ensure shelves are pushed completely back to prevent them holding the door open. If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait to minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the refrigerator will not start. When the thermostat is turned to its lowest setting and past the point of resistance, the appliance will not operate. WARNING! Power is still supplied to the appliance. To make the appliance operate, you must turn the knob clockwise. For all models value 'Less Cold corresponds to the warmest temperature and value 'Colder the coldest. The temperatures in the compartments of the refrigerator cannot be adjusted separately - This refers to models: RA110T, RA1T & RA1T. When the ambient room temperature is 16ºC, a setting of half way between Less- Cold and Mid would be appropriate. When the ambient room temperature is ºC, a setting of half way between Mid and Colder could be selected. Temperature Control Mid Mid Mid Colder Less Cold Less Cold Colder Models RA1T, RA1T, RP11T and RP41T Model RA110T WAIT 4 HOURS AFTER CHANGING SETTINGS: When you change temperature settings, make small adjustments and wait 4 hours before assessing whether you need to make any further changes. Page 10 Less Cold Colder

De-icing Refrigerator Operation The Ice Box - Models RA110T, RA1T & RA1T The ice-box compartment is not a deep freezer and is designed for cubes. It is not recommended for the storage of frozen food. Ice Making To make ice cubes, fill the ice tray with water and place it in the ice box. To remove ice cubes easily, run water on the tray before gently twisting the tray and inverting. making ice The de-icing system for the fridge compartment is automatic in models: RA1, RA1T, and vertical fridges RP11T and RP41T. The inside rear face of the fridge is covered with frost when the compressor operates and de-ices when it stops. When the ice melts, the water is evaporates automatically. RA110T achieves its cooling from the ice box. De-icing The Ice Box The ice-box compartment must always be de-iced when the layer of frost reaches a thickness of about 4mm(/"). In any case, this compartment should be de-iced at least once a year. Model RA110T has the added feature of a drip tray to collect the water. When de-icing, you can use a scraper or other plastic implement, but NEVER a metal instrument or electrical device. 1. Switch off and disconnect the appliance.. Remove the plug from the drain - Models RA1T / RA1T. (diagram on right).. For use in models RA1T / RA1T / RP11T / RP41T, an additional Drain Peg is supplied with this user manual. Use the drain peg to ensure that the drain hole is not blocked before defrosting. See diagram on lower right of the drain peg over a drain hole. Do not leave the drain peg in the drain hole. Models RA1T / RA1T 4. Place a container underneath to collect the water. To speed up the process, you can place a bowl of hot water inside the compartment and close the door. 6. When de-icing is complete, clean the appliance before restoring the power. Page 11 Drain peg over drain hole Models RP11T / RP41T RA1T / RA1T

Initial Start-Up Freezer Operation Your freezer was cleaned and polished before it left the factory. Before use, dust and wipe over inside and out, using a clean dry cloth. This product is designed to operate on a power supply of 0 / 40 volts 0 hertz. Connect to a separate power point with a correctly earthed three pin socket. Do not use double adaptors. General Information The freezer transfers heat from food placed inside to the outside air. This process makes the rear and sides of the outer cabinet, particularly at the initial start-up, feel warm to touch. This is normal. Make sure you fully close the freezer door after you load or remove food. If the door is left partly open, a heavy frost will coat the inside of the freezer. Ensure the baskets or bins are pushed all the way in to prevent the door being held open. If the unit is unplugged, power lost, or turned off, you must wait minutes before restarting the unit. If you attempt to restart before this time delay, the freezer will not start. Features And General Hints Try not to leave the door open for too long, especially in warm and humid climates. It is recommend that you wrap all foods in freezer bags. Corned or pickled products (containing salts) must NOT be stored in the freezer unless thoroughly sealed in several freezer bags. Salts cause metal oxidation. In some circumstances (particularly after recent opening and closing of the door), you may experience a heavier than normal resistance when opening the door. Should this occur, it is only necessary to wait a minute or so between openings to stabilise the air within the cabinet. If going away for an extended period, turn your freezer off, remove all foods and dry interior throughly. Disconnect the electrical cord and leave the door open. If there's a power failure, do not open the door. Frozen foods will stay frozen for up to 4 hours depending on temperature and load conditions if the door is kept closed. Controlling Temperature It is recommended that to ensure safe food storage, the freezer operates for hours with the door closed before being stocked with food. It is also recommended that you wait until the following day before you purchase additional food, either frozen or unfrozen, to stock your freezer. WARNING! Do not touch freezer shelf surfaces, particularly when hands are damp or wet. Extremely low temperatures may cause your hands to stick. Page 1

Controls Freezer Operation The temperature control is located on the top front right hand side of the cabinet on Models FR91T / FR181T. On Model FR81T, the control knob is on the back of the cabinet in the lower left corner. Leave the control knob in the mid position for a trial period. The control setting can be adjusted if required by rotating the knob. Turn clockwise for colder temperature. When the thermostat is turned to its lowest setting and past the point of resistance, the appliance will not operate. WARNING! Power is still supplied to the appliance. Models:FR91T / FR181T Defrosting Model: FR81T Your freezer should be defrosted when frost is approximately 6mm thick (1/4"), otherwise it will interfere with efficient operation and storage capacity. To ensure hygiene and efficiency, complete defrosting is recommended at least twice a year, preferably when food supply is low. Switch off power to freezer at power outlet and remove power supply plug. Remove frozen food, wrap in newspaper and place in a cardboard box or esky. Leave the door open and wait for the frost to soften; pans of hot water may be placed inside the freezer to speed up the defrosting. Place towels and a container to catch the water on the bottom of the freezer. WARNING! On no account use an electric heater or hair dryer for defrosting the freezer. Do not use a knife, metal scraper or sharp pointed tool or instrument to remove ice as they cause damage to the liner surface. Scrape the softened frost off the walls, using a plastic scraper. After defrosting is complete and all of the water has drained, wipe the freezer out with a damp cloth and dry. Reconnect the power cord to the power outlet and switch on. Replace frozen food. Page 1

Cleaning / Important Warnings Safety This product is not intended for young children and infirm persons unless adequately supervised by a responsible person. Please Follow These Tips Below DO Check the power point is properly grounded - if you are not sure, get an electrician to check it. Switch off the appliance at the power point before you clean or move it. If the supply cord is damaged you should have it replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified person. This will prevent a safety hazard. DON'T Never let children play with the appliance. Never store spray cans, explosive liquids or flammable liquids in the refrigerator. Never store fizzy drinks in the freezer compartment. Never lick icy foods when they first come out of the freezer. This can burn your lips and mouth. Never try to repair the appliance yourself. Never use electric heaters or dryers to defrost a freezer because you could receive an electric shock. Never use electrical appliances inside the food storage areas. This appliance contains insulation formed with flammable blowing gases. For safety reasons, take care when you dispose of it. Do not damage the refrigeration circuit. WARNING! WHEN YOU DISPOSE OF YOUR OLD REFRIGERATOR / FREEZER, REMOVE ANY DOORS. CHILDREN CAN SUFFOCATE IF THEY GET TRAPPED INSIDE. Cleaning The Appliance Before Cleaning: REMOVE THE POWER CABLE FROM THE WALL SOCKET. THIS WILL ENSURE THERE IS NO R I S K O F G E T T I N G A N ELECTRIC SHOCK. External Cabinet It is a good idea to polish the cabinet at least once a year using a high grade wax like the one you use on your car. After that, an occasional wipe over with a clean, damp cloth will help remove finger marks. NOTE: Do not wax plastic parts or decorative trim. Wash these in warm (not hot) water using unscented detergent. Interior The freezer can be cleaned following a defrost. The interior of the refrigerator should be regularly cleaned. It will be easiest to clean when the food supply is low. Wash the interior with a soft cloth and use an unscented mild detergent with luke warm water. Thoroughly dry all surfaces and removable parts. Avoid getting water on the controls. If you have taken out any removable parts, replace them and switch the power on before re-stocking the appliance with food. Keep The Door Seals Clean Take care to keep the door seals clean. Sticky food and drink can cause seals to stick to the cabinet and tear when you open the door. Wash the seal with mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. WARNING! Never use hot water, solvents, commercial kitchen cleaners, aerosol cleaners, metal polishes, caustic or abrasive cleaners, or scourers to clean this appliance, as they will damage it. Many commercially available cleaning products and detergents contain solvents that will damage your appliance. When cleaning, use only a soft cloth with an unscented mild soap and luke warm water. Page 18

What To Do Before Calling For Service If you think something may be wrong with your appliance, you can carry out some easy checks before calling for service. You may locate the problem, sparing yourself from inconvenience and saving time and money. Problem The appliance does not operate. When there is refrigerator or freezer noise... If there are odours inside the refrigerator... When the motor seems to run more than expected... If the temperature in the appliance is too warm... Solution Check that it is properly plugged in, that the fuse has not blown or that the circuit-breaker has not been tripped. Try another appliance or lamp to see if the outlet has electric current. Turn the temperature control clockwise to the colder temperature range. Normal operational sounds include: The refrigerant gas can create a gurgling sound as it circulates through the system. Air flow noise - Model RP41T - a small fan circulates air inside the refrigerator. The compressor can rumble. This can be more intense when the compressor starts. A clicking noise is the automatic switching action of the temperature control, turning the compressor on or off. Sharp cracking sounds produced by expansion and contraction of the cabinet construction materials. the interior may need cleaning. some foods produce odours. some containers and wrapping can cause odours. ask yourself if the odour started about the same time you started storing something unusual. It is normal for the motor to operate frequently. However, to keep operation to a minimum, check the following: Are doors kept open too long or too often? Are the controls set too cold? Refer to 'Controlling the Temperature' on pages 10 & 1. Has warm food just been stored? If the weather is hot or the room is warm, the appliance will have to work harder. The appliance will run more than normal just after installation or when power is restored after the appliance has been turned off for a while. Check that the appliance has enough clearance at the sides, back and top. Refer to 'recommended clearances' on page. Refer to 'Controlling the Temperature' on pages 10 & 1. The door may have been opened too frequently. Food containers or packaging may be holding a door open. Page 19

What To Do Before Calling For Service Problem If heavy frosting occurs in the ice box... If the temperature in the appliance is too cold... Rear liner of the refrigerator is wet... Leaking water... Solution Make sure you fully close the ice box and refrigerator doors after you load or remove food from these compartments. If the doors are left ajar a heavy frost will coat the inside of the ice box. If a frost develops, remove it. Take care to properly close the doors and ice build up will be less prevalent. Refer to 'Controlling the Temperature' on pages 10 & 1. Increase the temperature to avoid high energy consumption. This series of refrigerators has been fitted with a 'wet wall' evaporator, which is positioned behind the rear liner. The rear liner will, at times be wet or appear frosted. This is normal and demonstrates that the refrigerator is functioning correctly. Check to ensure the drain hole, in the inside back left hand corner of the refrigerator, is not blocked. Use the drain peg or a pipe cleaner to clear it. If Your Appliance Requires Service If your appliance is not operating correctly and the problem persists after you have made the checks listed above, contact your nearest service centre or the dealer you bought the appliance from. Be ready to quote the model number, which is stated on the label on the wall inside the appliance.
