Apricus solar hot water systems are available in a wide range of sizes and boosting options to suit any household, in any climate with natural gas, LPG and electric tank bottom and middle element options. 7 How an evacuated tube works Apricus solar collectors use high efficiency twin-glass evacuated tubes to absorb solar energy and convert it into usable heat. 1 Evacuated tube absorber layer receives incoming solar radiation. 2 The absorber moves energy to the copper heat pipe where energy is stored by the working fluid The working fluid boils at approx 30 C, turns to vapour and rises to the heat bulb at the top. 1 4 The heat bulb transfers energy into the water as it passes by through the manifold. 2 5 The vapour cools, condenses and returns to the base of the heat pipe where the process is then repeated. 5

12 HOME PRODUCTS INSTALLATION WARRANTY REBATES SUPPORT Rebates Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) Applicable Australia wide. F inancial incentives created to encourage the investment in renewable energy sources such as an Apricus solar hot water system. STCs are rebates that can offset the initial cost of the solar hot water system. Each STC represents a megawatt hour (MWh) per year of electricity displaced by an eligible system. Australia is divided into different climate zones and these determine the STCs available for a given system. W hen you switch to solar and install an Apricus solar water heating system registered with either Clean Energy Regulator (CER) or Essential Services Commission (ESC), homeowners may be eligible for a rebate. Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) I n Victoria, in addition to STC s, there are VEECs available as rebates, where each VEEC represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent abated by the eligible system carrying out a specified energy saving activity. Every other state only has STC s available To be eligible for an STC (and in VIC the VEEC rebate), customers must have a complete new solar water heater system listed in the CER Register of Solar Water Heaters and the complete system must be installed within 60 days. Customers need to make their claims directly with the governing bodies highlighted.
