2 HIGH-EFFICIENCY TOILETS $100 REBATE The City of Yuba City is offering a rebate of up to $ when you upgrade your old toilet using 3.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or higher to a new, high-efficiency model. A toilet using 3.5 gpf or more accounts for roughly 26% of a home s indoor water use. One of the easiest ways to lower your toilet s water use by approximately 62% is to install a high-efficiency toilet (HET), which uses on average 1.3 gpf or less. Although HETs use less water, they remove waste effectively and perform well. Applies to HET toilet purchases made after July 15, 2014 Two HET toilet rebates per residence, business or multi-family dwelling unit Toilet installation and rebate postmark must be within 90 days of purchase ELIGIBLE TOILET REPLACEMENT Must replace a working toilet flushing 3.5 gpf or higher. See Determining Your Existing Toilet s Flush Volume on page 6 The exact tank and bowl model number of the toilet you purchase must be on the WaterSense HETs list or the Flushometer Valve/Bowl Combination HET list Toilet installation must be within the Yuba City water service area and served by an active Yuba City potable water service account Purchase and install any qualifying model(s) Complete and submit an application with copies of purchase receipts. If you choose to use a contractor, the receipt must include applicant s name and/or installation address. If requested, schedule a post-installation site inspection Rebates will be issued as a check payable to the person indicated on the application. 3 SMART IRRIGATION TIMERS $75 REBATE The City of Yuba City is offering a rebate of up to 50% or $75.00 (whichever is less) toward the purchase and installation of a Smart Irrigation Timer. Typically, more than 50% of the water we use daily goes on lawns and outdoor landscaping. Traditional sprinkler timers usually apply twice the amount of water needed by plants. Smart Irrigation Timers self-adjust in response to local weather data and soil moisture. Your system is adjusted daily even while you re on vacation. Applies to Smart Irrigation Timer purchases made after July 15, 2014 One Smart Irrigation Timer rebate per residence, business or multi-family dwelling unit Must replace one or more existing conventional controllers Timer installation and rebate postmark must be within 90 days of purchase ELIGIBLE SMART TIMER INSTALLATION Must be weather-based, soil-moisture-based replacement panel or device Purchases must be on Yuba City s list of qualified Smart Irrigation Timers Install and program per manufacturer s directions and fine tune settings to eliminate wet and dry zones Timer installation must be within the Yuba City water service area and served by an active Yuba City potable water service account 1. Purchase and install any qualifying product. 2. Complete and submit an application with copies of purchase receipts. If you choose to use a contractor, the receipt must include applicant s name and/or installation address. 3. If requested, schedule a post-installation site inspection. 4 PRE-RINSE SPRAY NOZZLES $50 REBATE The City of Yuba City is offering rebates of up to $50.00 to commercial water customers for the purchase and installation of Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzles with a flow rate of 1.28 gpm or less. Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzles, which are used to remove food and grease as the initial step in dishwashing lines, account for nearly 1/3 of all water use in commercial kitchens. Some existing nozzles/valves have flow rates as high as 5 gallons per minute, but national standards now require improved efficiency and flow rates of 1.6 gpm or less. Applies to Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzle purchases made after July 15, 2014 Two Pre-Rinse Spray Nozzle rebates per location Rebate postmark must be within 90 days of purchase ELIGIBLE SPRAY NOZZLES Must replace a working nozzle using 2.5 gpm or higher Nozzle must be EPA WaterSense Certified with 1.28 gpm or less Nozzle installation must be within the Yuba City water service area and be served by an active Yuba City potable water service account 1. 5 HIGH-EFFICIENCY WASHING MACHINES $50 REBATE The City of Yuba City is offering a rebate of up to $50.00 when you upgrade your old washing machine to a new, high-efficiency model. Washing machines account for 19% of residential indoor water use. Old style washers can use up to 40 gallons of water per load. High-efficiency washing machines use 50% less energy and 40% less water. The average family can easily save more than 6,000 gallons of water every year by upgrading to a highefficiency machine. Applies to High Efficiency Washing Machine purchases made between October 1, 2015 and January 31, 2017 One HE Washing Machine Rebate per residence, business or multi-family dwelling unit Washing Machine installation and rebate postmark must be within 90 days of purchase ELIGIBLE WASHING MACHINE INSTALLATION Must replace an existing (traditional) washing machine at your Yuba City water service address The model must be on the Energy Star Most Efficient 2016 List Washing Machine installation must be within the Yuba City water service area and served by an active Yuba City potable water service account 1. Purchase and install any qualifying model. 2. Complete and submit an application with copies of purchase receipts. 3. If requested, schedule a post-installation site inspection. 7 DETERMINING YOUR TOILET S FLUSH VOLUME Remove tank lid 1 With masking tape, mark the water levels of tank and bowl REBATE APPLICATION CHECKLIST Shut off water supply valve 2 Flush the toilet normally some water may remain in the tank Did you check that your product meets eligibility rules? Did you enclose a copy of your receipts? Is the product model number printed and legible on the receipt? (UPC and SKU #s accepted) 3 With 1 gallon jug, manually refill tank and bowl to the markings you made the number of jugs used equals the flush volume of your toilet. The flush volume must be 3.5 Gallons or higher to qualify for a rebate. Have you completely filled out and signed the application form?
