Because not all features are available on every room air conditioner, review the features here and on the specification pages (6 8) then determine which will be most important to you as you select your new GE Room Air Conditioner from the pages that follow. Quick-Clean Filter Because cleaning your air conditioner filter regularly helps keep your unit running efficiently, GE offers the Quick-Clean Filter system on most units. Filters are easy to clean. Simply slide the filter out, wash, and replace. *All features available on Premium Models. Some features not available on all models. See specification pages 6, 7 and 8 for features on individual models. EZ Mount Adjustable EZ Mount side panels on most models expand to most windows. For easy removal of unit, EZ Mount panels retract easily. Some models feature a slideout chassis which allows the lightweight outer cabinet to be easily fixed in place while the heavy, working components simply slide into the installed case. Electronic Controls Innovative solid-state electronic controls on some models offer electronically-controlled comfort. Select the setting you prefer, and the dependable electronic control closely maintains the desired temperature, minimizing room temperature fluctuation. Electronic circuitry in all Electronic Control models helps maintain comfort conditions in the room by preventing excessive build-up of humidity. Electronic circuitry energizes the compressor every 8 minutes to draw moisture out of the air even when the room is at the desired temperature and cooling is not required. Hidden Controls Many GE Room Air Conditioners feature controls that are hidden from view to provide a clean, contemporary appearance. Circulaire 4-Way Air Distribution Electrically-driven louvers oscillate back and forth to circulate refreshing, cooled air throughout the surrounding area. Reset the control switch for continuous airflow in one direction. Position the horizontal louvers to direct air upward or downward. Energy Saver Switch A sought-after feature of GE Room Air Conditioners is the Energy Saver Switch. With the switch in the normal position, the fan runs continuously and provides a more uniform temperature in the room. In the save position, the fans turn on and off with the air conditioner s compressor to help reduce power consumption and operating costs. E.E.R. (Energy Efficient Ratio) An important factor in air conditioner design is the E.E.R. or Energy Efficiency Ratio. Shown on a tag of each new unit, the E.E.R. designation compares the air conditioner s cooling output with the electricity it requires for power. The E.E.R. figure is computed by dividing BTUH by the required wattage. The higher the E.E.R. number, the more efficient the unit, and the less costly to operate. Time-Controlled Cooling Set your air conditioner to turn On or Off automatically. An easyto-use timer control lets you set delay time from 1/2 hour to 12 hours before start or stop of operation. An ideal way to turn on your air conditioner just before you return home from work, or set it to turn off at night as the house cools.
