Carrier duct-free systems are the ideal complement to your ducted system, when it is impractical or prohibitively expensive to use ductwork. A creative, economical solution. Carrier duct-free systems offer a matched combination of an outdoor condensing unit and several compact, decorative indoor fan coil units, connected only by refrigerant tubing and wires. One of the styles will fit any application you might encounter. Fan coils can be mounted high on a wall or at floor level, under the ceiling, or in a suspended ceiling, permitting inexpensive, creative solutions to numerous design problems including: Add-ons to current space (office or family room addition) Special space requirements (such as a computer room and kitchens) When adding air conditioning to spaces that are heated by hydronic or electric heat and have no ductwork Historical renovations or whenever it is essential to preserve the appearance of the original structure Any room where individual comfort control is desired (such as a home office) 2

The indoor unit installs like fluorescent lights in standard ceiling grids and requires less than 12 of vertical plenum space. Cassettes are operated by a single outdoor condensing unit, and offer whisper-quiet and economical comfort control. The in-ceiling cassette has four adjustable diffusers that distribute air evenly, without drafts and can be adjusted for two-way, three-way or four-way air distribution. In addition to traditional heat pump operation, cassettes can be matched to cooling only condensers to provide a straight electric heat option. With its built-in condensate pump, the in-ceiling cassette fan coil can be installed quickly and can be moved later to suit changing space requirements. The systems take up less than 10 and provide quiet, effective cooling and heating from 18,000 Btu/h to 60,000 Btu/h. These systems provide efficiencies as high as 12 SEER, and offer many flexible options such as fresh air intake, condensate pumps and low ambient operation down to 20 F. Cooling capacity is 24,000 btu. These systems operate in a variety of combinations for 40QK, 40QA fan coils. The 38HDS permits standard ducted fan coil operation in conjunction with duct-free systems. This unit can also be matched with heat pump indoor units to provide a straight electric heat option. 13 Hydronic In-Ceiling Cassette Fan Coils Cassette units are ideal for retrofits and modernizations with suspended ceilings. The indoor unit installs like fluorescent lights in standard ceiling grids and requires less than 12 of vertical plenum space. Hydronic in-ceiling cassette systems provide uniform comfort through improved air circulation and precise temperature control. Installs as easily as standard cassettes in 2 x 2 or 2 x 4 openings (12 vertical plenum space). These units can be supplied from a chiller, a water source heat pump or a boiler. Since water is accepted by all building codes, hydronic cassettes can be used anywhere to augment an existing central system,or operate on their own in new construction. Fresh air intake kit Includes fresh air intake mounting kit and power vent fan motor. Both components must be used together. The filter is mounted at the fan coil unit and provides filtering of outdoor air before it enters the unit. Condensate pump Mounts inside with quick connections. Standard on 40QK and 42WKN. Remote locking mount Keeps remote controller securely in place. Includes screw-out lock. Remote room sensor kit Designed to sense the air temperature at a remote location and send this information by digital communication to the thermostat.
