As soon as the preset vacuum level is being reached, the vacuum generation and thus the consumption of compressed air is stopped. This process is called regulation. The diagram shows the regulation system of the ejector EKP-LSE. As soon as the optimum preset vacuum level (value 1) has been reached, the ejector keeps the vacuum level until the bottom value of the hysteresis has been reached due to leakage after a time period t. The automatic regulation system enables to maintain an optimum vacuum level and reduces energy consumption and the soun level along the full gripping cycle. Gripping of the item The vacuum-solenoid valve b starts the cycle Venturi tubes c are supplied with compressed air and generate the vacuum to grip the item quickly with the suction gripper -> short-term energy consumption. 2. Operations on the suctioned item The vacuum level is continually monitored by the vacuum switch f. When the vacuum threshold limit V1 (65%) is reached the signal Item suctioned is triggered. This gives a green light for the scheduled operation (transfer, processing etc.). If the vacuum reaches the threshold limit V2 (75%), the compressed air supply to the Venturi tubes via the solenoid valve e is interrupted. Energy consumption falls to nil. The item remains suctioned because of the vacuum that remains because of the closed non-return valve. Tiny leakages often lead to a slow release of the vacuum. If the vacuum falls to the threshold limit of 65%, a new vacuum is briefly generated, i.e. until the threshold limit V2 (75%) is reached. 3. Depositing of the workpiece At the end of the procedures blow-off is triggered. The blow-off valve h generates an air jet that closes the blocking valve. This blows off the item using the air pressure regulator i so that it can be deposited more quickly.

Cycle 2: The porous product generates leaks that provoke repeated intermittent vacuum regeneration. The anomaly is automatically detected, and the cycle goes on but without LSA. A LSA missing signal is then emitted and displayed, and production goes on. Cycle 3: Illustrates the automatic return to the LSA cycle as soon as leaks are eliminated: air tight products, vacuum circuit maintenance.
