Protect your eyes with safety glasses when cutting or soldering water supply lines. Cover the sink drain to avoid losing parts. Things You May Need Installations may vary depending on how the previous faucet was installed. Supplies necessary for the installation of your faucet are not all included; however, they are available wherever plumbing supplies are sold. Maintenance Your new tub and shower kit is designed for years of trouble-free performance. Keep it looking new by cleaning it periodically with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, steel wool, and harsh chemicals as these will dull the finish and void your warranty. Important Points Prior to beginning installation, turn off the hot and cold water lines, then turn on the old faucet to release built-up pressure. Wrap all threaded connections with PTFE pipe tape available at your local hardware or plumbing supply store. Always wrap in a clock-wise direction. 2 Instructions Preparation and Assembly 1 2A 2B Locate water supply inlet and shut off water supply valve. These are usually found under the sink or near the water heater. Remove old faucet. Clean and dry sink surface area where new faucet will be mounted. Recommended component locations (Fig. 2A-2B): The dimension for the valve center line to the finished wall is 1-7/8" min. to 2-7/8" max. Recommended dimension is 2-3/8". 1A: Shower and/or spout outlet hole, 1-1/4" diameter. 1B: Cut or leave a 1-3/8" to 2" diameter hole (recommended 1-3/4") for the cold water inlet side (the right side) and for the hot water inlet side (the left side). The center to center distance between the cold water inlet and hot is 8" (see Fig. 2B). CAUTION: Allow at least 2" between tub outlet and tub rim When attaching threaded fittings, use thread sealant or PTFE pipe tape. Thread iron supply pipe (3A) into tailpieces (3B). Assemble tailpieces into valve body (3C). Tighten with a wrench. Connect shower and tub outlet pipes (4B) to valve body (4D), not included, to the ends of both pipes. Securely fasten to wall framing or other solid support. Turn on water supply inlet valves to check for leaks. Effective/Rev Date: April 9,

3 Instructions Preparation and Assembly cont Pressure testing: Install a 1/2" iron pipe plug (6A), not included, on both shower (6B) and tub outlets (6C). Turn hot and cold valve stem to full position, then turn the diverter stem to the tub and shower position. Check all connections for leaks. NOTE: To close COLD valve turn clockwise. To open turn counter-clockwise. To close HOT valve turn clockwise. To open turn counter-clockwise. For tub and shower combinations: To flush foreign material from the lines, slowly remove pipe plugs and turn on hot and cold water supply lines and allow water to flow from shower and tub outlets. Insert the long end of the shower arm (8A) through the flange (8B) then apply PTFE pipe tape or thread sealant to both ends of shower arm. Screw the long end of the shower arm into the pipe elbow (8C) inside the wall. Slide the flange tight against the finished wall surface. Thread the shower head (8C) onto the shower arm (8A) Put PTFE pipe tape or thread sealant on both threaded ends of the pipe nipple (9A). Use a pipe nipple that will project 3-7/8" to 4" from the finished wall. Screw the pipe nipple into the elbow (9B) inside the wall and tighten with a pipe wrench. Screw the tub spout (9C) on until it is positioned and flush to the finished wall. A. After finishing the wall surface, slide flanges (10A) onto valves and fit flush against the finished wall. B.
