The cut out you need on your bench top to fit the Heatlie Island Gourmet Elite is 1104mm x 538mm. Bench Top 538 mm 1104 mm Diag 1. 2 Outdoor Cooking Area This BBQ shall only be used in an above ground open air situation with natural ventilation, without stagnant areas, where gas leakage and products of combustion are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural convection. 3.1 Installation Location Requirements The Island Gourmet barbecue is not for use indoors. Please refer to AS/NZS5601 for specific installation and venting regulations. Any enclosure in which the appliance is used shall comply with one of the following (also see diagrams): 2. An enclosure with walls on all sides, but at least one permanent opening at ground level and no overhead cover (Figure F1). 3. Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and no more than two walls (Figures F2 and F3). 4. Within a partial enclosure that includes an overhead cover and more than two walls, the following shall apply (Figures F4 and F5): (i) At least 25% of the total wall area is completely open and unrestricted. (ii) At least 30% of the remaining wall area is open and unrestricted. 5. In the case of balconies, at least 20% of the total of the side, back and front wall areas shall be and remain open and unrestricted.

4 Ventilation Requirements Ventilation The Island Gourmet Elite can be installed into a bench and bench top which are made from combustible and/or noncombustible materials, and can also be installed with zero clearance between the BBQ body and the cabinet panels. (see definitions). A minimum area of 400cm2 of ventilation is required in the cabinet, for both LPG and Natural Gas applications. The cabinet design will determine where this ventilation needs to be situated. The ventilation opening can be in the front, back, and/or sides of the cabinet, but the total area of all ventilation holes needs to add up to a minimum of 400cm2. For example if the back of the cabinet is against a brick wall and there is no opportunity for ventilation in the back, the 400cm2 will need to be spread over the front and sides of the cabinet. For another example, if the cabinet is not able to have openings on the back and two sides, then the 400cm2 will need to be located in the front of the cabinet. If the BBQ is installed in a zero clearance, the 400mm2 of ventilation then needs to be located at the base of the bbq, at the same height as the base plate of the Island Gourmet. Refer to Diags 6,7 & 8 below. Definitions Combustible Construction Materials The Island Gourmet Elite has been designed to allow installation into benches and bench tops manufactured from combustible materials. The following are examples of combustible materials that can be used when installing the Island Gourmet Elite: Timber, Laminate or MDF. Non-combustible Construction Materials Examples are: steel, stainless steel, Caesar Stone, stone or brick Zero Clearance The Island Gourmet can be installed with zero clearance between the BBQ body and the cabinet panels, which means you can have a panel directly under the base of the BBQ providing the appropriate ventilation requirements are met. Non-Zero Clearance This is where the Island Gourmet is not in direct contact with the cabinet panels or structure, with the exception of the bench surface supporting the appliance. The underside may be completely open to the BBQ body. Note be cautious of accidental touch of hot surfaces when the underside is completely open in this installation configuration. This is an example of Heatlie s cabinet. This cabinet does not have a panel under the BBQ therefore the ventilation is located on the sides of the cabinet but still totalling 400cm Ventilation examples

6 Gas Cylinder (LPG) Compartment When the Island Gourmet is on LPG, the gas cylinder needs to be located in a ventilated compartment that is separated from the barbecue burner. A hole not exceeding diameter 20mm must be installed to enable the hose fitting to pass through the cylinder compartment to the barbecue. Diag 10. The upper edge of the bottom opening must not be more than 120mm above the base of the cabinet. NATURAL GAS When the Island Gourmet is on Natural Gas, not a cylinder, there is no need for a cylinder compartment. A diameter 40mm hole is required on the right hand (control knob) side of the BBQ at the rear of the cabinet, no more than 40cm up from the base of the cabinet (so as not to get too close to the burners), to gain access for natural gas connection to be connected to the barbecue. Refer to AS5601 for pipe sizing details. Daig 12. The hose connection is located 380mm from front edge and 130mm from the back edge of the BBQ.
