5 COMED PROGRAM OVERVIEW An Overview of What s New for s PY6 Energy Incentive Program Different Approach to Incentives for LEDs The big news in lighting incentives is in LEDs. Incentives for all LEDs (except exit signs, channel signs and refrigerated display case lighting) are now calculated based on the reduction in wattage from the old/existing lighting system to the LED system. This is the way that incentives for new T8 or T5 fixtures and induction lighting are currently calculated. The incentive for new or retrofitted LEDs is now 50 cents per watt reduced. All LED light fixtures (except exit signs and channel signs) must be listed on the Design Lights Consortium Qualified Products List. The DLC Qualified Products List is expanding rapidly, and now includes fixture types like linear panels, flood and spot lights, stairwell lights and others. Higher Incentives for Lighting Controls Lighting controls reduce lighting costs by an average of 30 percent. Escalator motor efficiency controllers may qualify for an incentive of $20 per HP. Passive infrared, ultrasonic detectors and fixture-integrated sensors or sensors with a combination thereof are eligible $0.12 per Watt controlled Replacement of existing occupancy sensors is not eligible for this ncentive. 2. Daylighting Controls Installation of new daylighting controls on a new or existing lighting system in spaces with reasonable amounts of sunlight exposure and areas where task lighting is not critical. Controls can be on/off, stepped, or continuous (dimming). $0.12 per Watt controlled The on/off controller should turn off artificial lighting when the interior illuminance meets the desired indoor lighting level. 2. Daylight sensor controls are required to be calibrated. Refer to all specifications as listed on the application page shown above. Occupancy Sensors Plus Daylighting Controls Installation of both occupancy sensors and daylighting controls to control the same fixture. $0.18 per Watt controlled The on/off controller should turn off artificial lighting when the interior illuminance meets the desired indoor lighting level. 2. Daylight sensor controls are required to be calibrated. Refer to all specifications as listed on the application page shown above. Time Clocks for Lighting Installation of time clocks on interior and/or exterior lighting $0.03 per Watt controlled Clocks must control on/off schedule of lighting equipment and must have a three-hour back-up system to maintain the program schedule during power outages. 2.
