2 CERTIFICATION AND RATINGS All exhaust fans and range hoods manufactured by Broan-NuTone Canada Inc. are cul or CSA certified (C22-2 No.113) for continuous use and HVI 2100 certified for air movement and sound ratings. The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) uses the following units of measure to rate the certified performance of ventilating equipment. CFM: Cubic Feet per Minute. Used for measuring the volume or quantity of air flow at a specific point. Litres per second: CFM.472 SP: Static pressure is the height in inches to which the pressure will lift a column of water used for measuring duct resistance at a specific point. Pascals: 249 inches of water. Sones: One (1) sone is approximately the sound of a quiet refrigerator in a quiet kitchen.
