3 Product Features The of units are unique in that they can be applied as close coupled or split with the evaporator remote from the condensing section. They are available as aircooled, water-cooled or heat pump configurations. The units can be ceiling or slab mounted. Additionally the units can be tailored for a specific application as a made to order unit. Individual sections can be used with other product series. 12 Electrical Data The following sections provide the formulas and the data to calculate the Minimum Circuit Ampacity (MCA) and the Maximum Overcurrent Protection (MOP) for your specific unit configuration. There are a variety of unit configurations. Please make sure to use the correct formulas per your configuration. Examples have also been provided for each configuration. RLA = Compressor Rated Load Amps FLA = Full Load Amps (Used for Blower Motors and Electric Heaters) MCA = Minimum Circuit Ampacity (Calculated value) MOP = Maximum Fuse Size (Calculated value) Cooling Only: Close Coupled Unit (Can be single or dual compressor) NOTE: Largest motor amps may not always be the compressor. MCA = (1.25 x largest motor amps) + the sum of the remaining motors MOP = (2.25 x largest motor amps) + the sum of remaining motors Evaporator Only Section MCA = (1.25 x Evap. Blower Motor Amps) MOP = (2.25 x Evap. Blower Motor Amps) Examples Cooling Only: It must be noted that the formulas refer to the largest motor amps. This typically is the compressor (RLA), but it can also be one of the blower motors (FLA). The data provided will cover the majority of available unit configurations. However, it should be noted that additional combinations may be available and the factory can be contacted for this data. (2) Run a 1/2" water line to within 1 foot of the unit before reducing to 1/4" OD for the connector. Water Quality: (a) Inlet water pressure must be between 15 and 150 psi. If higher than 150 psi, install a regulator. (b) Use only potable water. (c) Water conductivity should be between 125 and 1,250 Micromhos (optimum is 150 to 350 Micromhos). (d) If water conductivity is over 250 Micromhos, do not use softened water. (e) De-mineralized water cannot be used, as there are no minerals to conduct the electricity. (f) Water ph range of 6.5 to 7.5. Cylinder Life: The normal life expectancy of a steam cylinder ranges from 500 to 4,000 hours, dependent upon the water quality and the use profile.
