Explanation of the set values / functions Explanation of the set values / functions In order to modify the standard settings, refer to the chapter "System diagrams", select the relevant system according to the types of system and define these settings first of all [P22]. The chapter "Explanation of set values / functions" describes the various set values according to their dependence on the selected/realised system (1-11). If the controller, e.g. for System 1 is used, only refer to the function descriptions related to this system. User set values 01 Set time Set the current time. 02 Weekday Set the current weekday (1-7, 1=Monday) (Display only) Resetting the production indicators 03 Day's production indicator [kwh] Reset the value to "0000" by pressing the key OK (for at least 2 seconds). The value is reset to "0000 at 24:00 and the day's production is added to the total production. Starting up 04 Total production indicator [kwh] This value is updated at 24:00. To determine the current total value accurately, the day's production value must be added to the "indicated" total production value. Reset the value to "0000" by pressing the key OK (for at least 2 seconds). Pump kick function System 2,9: No function System 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: The pump kick function can be executed during the time period of the day in which solar production is expected [P05-P06]. This function should ensure that the actual collector temperature can be measured by the collector sensor even when the collector pumps are not operating. The function is deactivated if no switching time (P05=P06= ----") or no kick duration (P60=0) was selected. Each time the kick pause [P61] has ended, the corresponding collector pump is switched on for the period of the kick duration [P60] (heat transport to the sensor). If a temperature increase of 0.5K is detected on the respective collector sensor during the measuring period [P62], the collector pump is activated for one minute. Finally, the switch-on conditions for the collector pump are checked. 14
Starting up Explanation of the set values / functions 05 Pump kick function switch-on time Temperature verification starts from this time. 06 Pump kick function switch-off time Temperature verification stops from this time. Reheating function For most systems, this can be selected as an additional function. (see P54 and section "Special Functions A set temperature [P47] can be entered for the selected storage tank when the reheating function is active. During the enable time [P07-P08], this temperature is set by activating an additional heat generator. The additional heat generator is activated when the set temperature P47 of P34 (in case of solar production by P52+ P34) drops below. It is deactivated when the set temperature P47 is reached (in case of solar production P47-P52). 07 Reheating function ON The set temperature [P47] starts from this time. 08 Reheating function OFF Set temperature [P47] stops from this time. Circulation pump For many systems, this can be selected as an additional function. (see P54 and section "Special Functions P54=1: The circulation pump is continuously switched on during the enable time P09-P10. P54=2: The circulation pump is switched on during the enable time P09-P10 when triggered by a pulse. P54=3: Circulation pump and the hot water short time heating function, 09 Switch-on time circulation pump ON Starts enabling the circulation pump. 10 Switch-off time circulation pump OFF The circulation pump is disabled. 15
Explanation of the set values / functions Fitter set values 20 Enter code no. After entering the code number, the set values assigned to the fitter level can be modified. Standard value: Valid code no. The code number currently valid can be modified with this setting. (Value only visible after entering the currently valid code no.) 22 System selection (see appended diagrams) On selecting the system, the function of the device is redefined. Set the system number according to the connection descriptions (System 1 System 11).! After changing the System Selection parameter, all the set values are reset to the default factory values (including the code no.). The fitter level is closed. Speed control for A1 23 Speed level Actual Value Displays the actual speed value for A1 in %. Starting up 24 Operating mode Speed control (AUTO, MANUAL) Select the operating mode for speed control 0 = Automatic mode (Controller detects speed) 1 = Manual operation (set speed value has an effect on A1) 25 Set value of speed level Only in manual operating mode [P24=1]! Specifies the speed for A1. 26 Min. speed level Only in automatic operating mode [P24=0]! (P26 < P27) regulates the setting of the minimum speed to that of the controller. The value must be selected in such a way that the pump must run safely with this control. 27 Max. speed level Only in automatic operating mode [P24=0]! (P27 > P26) regulates the setting of the maximum speed to that of the controller 28 Difference temperature for 100% control Only in automatic operating mode [P24=0]! The pump is started at full speed [100%] for the temperature difference between collector 1 and the active storage tank that is set here. The pump is slowed down if the temperature difference is lower. 16
Starting up Explanation of the set values / functions Switch-On/Off difference 30 One switching difference for difference 1 The feeding function for storage tank 1 via pump A1 is enabled when the temperature difference between sensor F1 (collector/solid fuel) and sensor F4 (lower storage tank) exceeds the switch-on threshold. 31 Off switching difference for difference 1 The feeding function for storage tank 1 is deactivated when the difference drops below the set switching threshold. 32 One switching difference for difference 2 33 Off switching difference for difference 2 System 1,7,9: No function Systems 2, 5: The feeding function for storage tank 2 via pump A1 is enabled when the temperature difference between sensor F1 (collector/solid fuel) and sensor F2 (storage tank 2) exceeds the switch-on threshold. The feeding function for storage tank 2 is deactivated when the difference drops below the set switch-off threshold. The valve A2 is switched in the direction of storage tank 2 when the feeding function for storage tank 2 is enabled and storage tank 1 cannot be fed. System 3,4: The feeding via pump A1 is enabled when the temperature difference between sensor F2 (solid fuel/ collector 2) and sensor F4 (lower storage tank) exceeds the switch-on threshold. System 6: The feeding function for storage tank 2 via pump A2 is enabled when the temperature difference between sensor F1 (collector) and sensor F2 (storage tank 2) exceeds the switch-on threshold. The feeding function for storage tank 2 is deactivated when the difference drops below the set switch-off threshold. System 8: see Special Functions return flow temperature increase System 10: The refeeding function via pump A2 is enabled when the temperature at sensor F3 (upper storage tank 1) exceeds the temperature at sensor F2 (lower storage tank 2) by the switch-on threshold. The refeeding function is deactivated when the difference falls below the set swtich-off threshold. 17
Explanation of the set values / functions System 11: Valve A2 switches on when the temperature at sensor F1 (collector) exceeds the temperature at sensor F3 (upper storage tank) by the value P32 ( feeding into the upper storage tank section). A2 switches off when the difference drops below the Off switching difference ( feeding into the upper storage tank section). System 12: Valve A3 switches on when the temperature at sensor F1 (collector) exceeds the temperature at sensor F3 (upper storage tank) by the One switching difference ( feeding into the upper storage tank section). A3 switches off when the difference drops below the Off switching difference ( feeding into the middle storage tank section). Valve A2 switches on when the temperature at sensor F1 (collector) exceeds the temperature at sensor F5 (middle storage tank) by the One switching difference ( feeding into the middle or upper storage tank section). A2 switches off when the difference drops below the Off switching difference ( feeding into the lower storage tank section). Starting up 34 Switching hysteresis for reheating Reheating is activated, if the target temperature is fallen below around hysteresis stopped here. Reheating becomes again closed with the exceeding of the target temperature Special functions 40 Temperature activation collector(s) 41 Deactivation temperature collector(s) System 2,9: No function System 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: The collector pump is enabled when the associated collector temperature exceeds the enable temperature. It is disabled when the collector temperature drops below the disable temperature. This function prevents pump operation without relevant heat production. 42 Maximum collector temperature System 2,9: No function System 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: The collector pumps are deactivated when the 18
Starting up Explanation of the set values / functions related collector temperatures exceed the safety limits set here. -> System protection The pumps are reactivated when the temperature falls below the temperature [maximum collector temperature 10K]. 43 Enable temperature of 2nd heat generator (solid fuel) System 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: No function Systems 2, 3, 9: The relevant pumps are activated when the temperature of the 2nd heat generator (System 2,9 = F1, System 3 = F2) exceeds the limit value set here by 5K. It is stopped when the temperature of the heat generator drops below the enable temperature. This function ensures that the heat generator can reach its operating temperature. 44 Maximum solid fuel boiler temperature System 1,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: No function System 2,3,9: The feeding pump of the solid fuel boiler is deactivated when the temperature of the boiler exceeds the limit temperature set here. -> System protection. The pump is reactivated when the, temperature falls 10 K below the limit value. Collector protection function 45 Collector protection temperature System 2,9: No function System 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: The collector protection temperature protects the collector against overheating. It gets activated when the set maximum collector temperature P42 is greater than the collector protection temperature P45 set here. If the collector temperature F1 or F2 exceeds the set collector protection temperature P45 and the storage tank temperature is less than 92 C, then the storage tank is fed beyond its maximum temperature to 95 C to cool the collector. The function is interrupted when the collector exceeds its maximum temperature P42. The function is activated again when the collector temperature drops below the temperature P42-3K. 46 Switching threshold for storage tank recooling P46 = 0 No storage tank recooling P46 > 0 Storage tank cooling active If the collector protection function has fed the storage tanks during the day to temperatures in excess of the set maximum storage tank temperatures P50, P51, then the storage tank can automatically be cooled at night between 19
Explanation of the set values / functions 1.00 and 6.00 hours by activating this function by switching on the feeding pumps to the set maximum temperature of the storage tank P50/51. The storage tank cannot be fed during this period. This function is meant to protect the storage tank. Recooling can take place only when the temperature of the storage tank exceeds the collector temperature at least by the value of switching threshold P46 (+3K hysteresis). 47 Set temperature for reheating Only when special function "Reheating is selected The additional heat generator (A2/A3) is enabled when the storage tank temperature at the upper storage tank sensor (F3/F5) drops below the limit set here by P34. It is stopped when the temperature of the storage tank exceeds the enable temperature. If there is solar production, the switching threshold is moved down by the parameter P52: Enabling occurs at an upper storage tank temperature below P47-(P52+ P Maximum storage tank temperature, tank 1 E If a top of tank sensor (F3) is mounted, it is used to monitor the maximum temperature. If this sensor is not installed, the maximum storage tank temperature is monitored by F4. In this case, the layering of the tank must be taken into account. Starting up System 1,3,4,7,8,9,10,11,12: The feeding pumps are disabled when the temperature of storage heater 1 exceed the safety limit temperature set here. System protection The pumps are reactivated when the temperature falls below the temperature [maximum storage tank temperature 5K]. System 2,5,6: For these systems it is also possible to additionally keep feeding storage tank Maximum storage tank temperature, tank 2 System 1,3,4,7,8,9,11,12: No function System 2,5: Feeding pump A1 is stopped when the temperature of storage heater 2 exceeds the safety limits set here and storage tank 1 cannot be fed 2 1 (A2 set towards storage tank 2). System protection The pump is reactivated when the temperature drops below the temperature [maximum storage tank temperature 5K]. System 6,10: Feeding pump A2 is disabled when the temperature of the 20
Starting up Explanation of the set values / functions storage heater 2 exceeds the safety limit set here system protection The pump is reactivated when the temperature drops below the temperature [maximum storage tank temperature 5K]. 52 Tolerance with solar production System 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11 (only for P54=3 recharging): If the storage tank temperature is fed from the collector/ solid fuel boiler, the additional heat generator is only activated when the storage tank temperature drops below the set temperature P47 by the value [tolerance value + P34]. It is deactivated again when the storage tank temperature has reached the value [set temperature P47- tolerance value]. Hot water short time heating function Only when special function "Reheating is selected Every Saturday at hours the storage tank is heated once to the temperature of 65 C (= increase in set temperature). This function is only performed when the storage tank temperature of 65 C was not reached during the previous week. The temperature is monitored by sensor F4 "bottom of storage heater". The hot water short time heating function is stopped when the set temperature cannot be reached within 3 hours or when the programmed maximum storage temperature (at least 65 C) is detected at sensor F3 (only when installed). E The hot water short time heating function can only be successfully performed when the external heat generator (reheating function) is capable of generating the corresponding temperatures. 53 Hot water short time heating function 0 = Function not active (standard) 1 = Function active Functions additional relay A2 / A3 As soon as the outlets A2 and A3 are not specifically assigned by system scheme, it becomes possible to assign a freely selectable special function to these outlets. 54 Function A2 / A3 0 = outlet not active 1 = Circulation pump, outlet is continuously ON within the enable time [P09-P10] 2 = Circulation pump in case of impulse, outlet is ON only during impulse within the enable time [P09-P10] 3 = Circulation in case of hot water short time heating, outlet is ON during hot water short time heating function 21
Explanation of the set values / functions 4 = Reheating storage tank 1, reference sensor F3 5 = Reheating storage tank 2, reference sensor F5 6 = Return flow temperature increase, storage tank 1 7 = Return flow temperature increase, storage tank 2 Circulation in case of impulse If there is a short-circuit at the impulse inlet, the circulation pump gets switched on for the set switching duration P55. The pump can be switched on again only after the set reclose blocking period P56 has elapsed. The set circulation program has highest priority Activation occurs only during the enable time [P09-P10]. Reheating The reheating function is active only during the enable time [P07-P08]. If the set temperature for storage tank drops by at least 5K (in case of solar production by P52+5K) during this period, then the selected outlet switches on ( reheating) till the set temperature has been reached ( reheating OFF). If there is heat input into the storage tank via solid fuel/ solar, then the reheating function gets activated only when the temperature drops below the tolerance value (refer P52). 55 Circulation pump on-period Switching duration of circulation pump in minutes after occurrence of an impulse (water drawn from tap) Starting up 56 Circulation pump reclose blocking If the circulation pump has been switched on, then it can be started again only after the period of reclose blocking has elapsed. Return flow temperature increase Also refer to special function "Return flow temperature increase : System 9: The built-in mixer motor (A2=OPEN, A3=CLOSE) regulates the return flow temperature of the heat generator to the set minimum return flow temperature P57. If this temperature is not reached in the heat generator, then the mixer is closed completely. If the return flow temperature increases beyond this value, the mixer opens. 57 Minimum return flow temperature System 9: The built-in mixer motor regulates the temperature to this value. 58 Mixer dynamic OPEN System 9: Speed setting at which the mixer motor opens when a control difference occurs. The control difference at which the mixer motor opens without interruption is entered in Kelvin. 22
Starting up Explanation of the set values / functions 59 Mixer dynamics CLOSE System 9: Speed setting at which the mixer motor closed when a control difference occurs. The control difference at which the mixer motor closes without interruption is entered in Kelvin.! Small values cause the mixer motor to adjust quickly and can lead to oscillation. Pump kick function (temperature test function) System 2 and 9: No function System 1,3,4,5,6,7,8,10,11,12: The heated heat generation medium of the collector is transported to the sensor when the collector pump gets switched on for a short period so that the collector temperature can be measured. 60 Kick duration [sec] Collector pump runtime following pump kick. 61 Kick pause [min] If the collector pump has not run for the duration set here, the pump is activated for the kick duration period [P 60]. 62 Measuring time for 0.5 K increase [min] The course of the collector temperature is controlled during this period following a pump kick. If an increase of 0.5K is detected, the pump is started for a further minute. Production estimate / Volume flow counter While the feeding pump is running, the pulses of an optionally connectable flow rate counter can be evaluated (see Connection Plan: Pulse). The controller can calculate the heat production from the volume flow determined (input of the counter pulse rate in P70) and the temperature difference between collector and storage tank.! If sensor F2 is available and installed as return flow sensor for the collector, the temperature difference between heat generator and F2 is calculated. Otherwise the feeder point of the charged storage tank is used for the calculation! System 4: The heat production for both the collectors is ascertained here respectively [F1-F4 and F2-F4]. If both collector pumps are in operation, the heat flows are calculated according to the ratio of the volume flows [P72]. For the calculation, the heat transport medium used in the system (glucol type = P79) and the mixture ratio with water [P78] must be set. 23
Explanation of the set values / functions The day's production and total production are displayed in [kwh]; in the case of values in excess of 10 MW, the display of the total production changes to [MWh]. The change is indicated in the display by means of three arrows. The day's production is reset to zero at midnight. Both values can be reset to zero at user level by means of the key OK.! The circulation pump must not be on via parameter 54 = 2 while measuring the production via the connected pulse generator.! If no pulse counter is connected, a production estimate can be executed. To do this, enter the average volume flow through the respective collector when the feeding pump is in operation [P75+P76]. The volume flow can be established by installing a counter for a short time or by calculation (installation technician).! The production estimate does not give the correct production value for the speed regulated pump A1 because the volume flow can only be estimated for the reduced pump speed. Guideline for volume flow quantity: Approx. 0.8 [l / min] sq. meter of collector surface. E Caution! This value does not apply to low flow systems. Starting up 70 pulse rate [millilitre/pulse] [litre/pulse] (Only with volume flow counter) Refer to the flow rate counter documents for the pulse rate of the counter connected (option). 71 Set pulse rate unit (Only with volume flow counter) Switching between [ml/pulse] and [l/pulse]. 72 Volume flow distribution with 2 collector system System 4: Enter the ratio of the volume flows through the two collectors in case both feeding pumps are in operation. 75 Volume flow fix for collector 1 [litre/min] (Only without volume flow counter - see "Production estimate") 76 Volume flow fix for collector 2 [litre/min] (Only without volume flow counter - see "Production estimate") 78 Mixture ratio Refer to the documents supplied for information on the mixture ratio of the heat transport medium (filling of the solar energy system) or ask the installation technician. 24
Starting up Other functions 79 Glycol type (Solar-electricity system documents / installation technician) 0 = Propylene glycol 1 = Ethylene glycol 98 Bus terminating resistor 1 => With enterprise with remote indication/operation without boiler automatic controllers on the BUS 0 => With enterprise with boiler automatic controller/manager on the BUS 99 Software number with index (ss.ii; Display only) Other functions Pump blocking protection The controller effectively prevents the pumps blocking following longer periods out of operation. The integrated protection function activates all the pumps which have not operated within the last 24 hours each day for approx. 5 seconds between 12:00 and 12:01. Stop pumps (temperature control) System 2,5,6: Filling of the secondary storage tank (sensor F3) is interrupted for 60 sec. every 30 minutes. After the interruption period, the start conditions for filling the primary storage tank (sensor F4) are checked. This function is only executed when the highest priority storage tank has not reached its maximum storage tank temperature [F4 < (P50-5K)]. 25
Assembly / Dismantling Starting up Assembly / Dismantling Mounting material, e.g.: Version 1 => Through the hole at the side A: Mounting holes B: Mounting holes, for assembly on switch box C: Breakthrough for leading cable through Version 2 => From the front Dimensions 26
For the fitter Electrical connection For the fitter Electrical connection! Sensor: The KLF 1000 must be used (silicone cable) as the collector sensor. E Attention: For the connection (230 V) fixed or flexible lines with the factory-standard lead end sleeves are to be installed. E Attention: Bus lines and sensor lines are to be installed separately from supply lines! 27
Special functions Special functions Depending on the system selected, the outlets A2 and A3 can be assigned to special functions. The parameter P54 is used to set the desired function separately for A2 and A3. Reheating The special functions can be used to activate a reheating function, for example via an electric submersion heater: [P54=4 (storage tank 1), P54=5 (storage tank 2)] The additional heat generator is activated when the storage tank temperature at F3 at storage tank 1 (F5 at storage tank 2) drops below set temperature [P47] by [P34] (set temperature in case of solar production = [P47]-[P52]). It is stopped when the temperature of the storage tank exceeds the set temperature This function takes effect during the enable time [P07- P08]. For the fitter Circulation pump The special functions can be used to activate the circulation pump: [P54=1, P54=2, P54=3] P54=1 => The circulation pump is continuously switched on during the enable time [P09-P10]. P54=2 => If there is a short-circuit at the pulse inlet, the circulation pump is switched on for the set switching duration P55 in minutes. The pump can be switched on again only after the set reclose blocking period P56 in minutes has elapsed. Switching on takes place only during the enable time [P09-P10]. P54=3 => Activation when hot water short time heating function is active P54=1, P54=2, P54=3 P54=3 28
For the fitter Remote controls Return flow temperature increase The special functions can be used to activate the return flow temperature increase: [P54=6 (storage tank 1; F4), P54=7 (storage tank 2; F2)] The return flow of the heating system is passed through the storage tank and is heated by it. The system is switched on via A2 when the temperature in the storage tank has exceeded the temperature of the return flow (F5) by the One switching difference 2 [P32]. The return flow temperature increase is stopped when the temperature of the storage tank drops below the temperature of return flow + One switching difference 2 [P33]. Superposed protection functions With respect to the following diagrams, please note that the respective control functions may be superposed by protection functions. An active collector protection function (see P45) or storage tank recooling (see P46) can therefore also trigger collector pump operation. Remote controls Remote indication for solar values Lago FB T-SD Indicate the following values over BUS in the dwelling: T- Solar collector 1 T- Charging zone storage tank 1 T- Storage tank 1 upper T- Solar collector 2 T- Charging zone storage tank 2 T- Storage tank 2 upper Solar production (current, day and entire) Status (pump 1 und 2, Switchover valve, ext. heating) Connecting CAN BUS Connection H, L, -, + 29
