Most people start with sacks and a small store. Fill the store with a couple of sacks, and the wood pellets are then fed to the boiler and the pellet burner. The burner works like an oil burner and does not require any maintenance. Another option is a bulk store. A bulk store works like an ordinary oil tank, and is filled by a bulk vehicle. The advantages are that you do not need to handle sacks, and the price is even lower. On the other hand, the store takes up a lot of space. The cold forced up the price of electricity, so that heat pumps became more expensive to run making them about as efficient as an electric boiler.
