Servicing, modification, testing and maintenance of electrical appliances should only be carried out in accordance with all appropriate legal requirements, accident prevention regulations and valid standards. Unless absolutely essential, e.g., fault finding with supply voltage, working on a machine connected to the power supply should always be avoided. If working on a machine with an applied voltage at a potentially dangerous level is unavoidable, special safety measures must be taken into consideration and complied with. Warning! Even with the machine switched off, power may be applied to some components. Before starting any service work, the machine must be disconnected from the power supply. Suitable measurements must be made to ensure that this is the case. A general visual check should always be carried out.
5 A-2 DTD no Risk of Injury due to Sharp Edges and Protruding Parts Danger! There may be a risk of injury due to protruding parts. Protective goggles should be worn. 35 DTD no Technical Service Bulletins 4 Service Inch Warming Drawers; Closing Behavior; Rep. Kit, Part # A ESW 4 warming drawers How to remedy drawer-closing issues. A The ESW 4 warming drawers have a closing device on the end of each telescopic runner. This Stop Control can become dislodged or damaged during handling, installation, or rough use. There is a repair kit that contains a pair of these drawer closure devices. A If indicated, please order part # , Rep. Kit Pull-Out Spring Mechanism. The kit comes with an instruction sheet; you can download these instructions online. A Note that these closing devices have a left and right orientation; the springloaded hooks should be facing each other across the drawer. Remember also that these hooks need to be slid back and etended before installing and before closing the drawer. 4.2 ESW Warming Drawers; Fan Behavior A The newest models of warming drawers (ESW 4XX2) are electronically controlled. This allows for more precise temperature control and etended multi-function features. The timer function is one of these enhanced features. By selecting a timed cycle (1-4 hours), the unit will heat only for that amount of time. Once the timer has epired, the fan will continue to run. This is by design. Some customers may think that the timer is not working properly, but this is not the case. Reference page 13 of the owners manual. A There is no need to set up service for fan run-on. Eplain to the customer that the fan continues to run to prevent ecess heat buildup and to keep the warmth in the drawer even at all levels.
36 030-2 DTD no ESW 4XX2 Warming Drawers A The timer feature on these electronically-controlled warming drawers does not function as described in the use and care manual. A new electronic is available that will remedy the situation. A 60cm drawers use this part number: (ESW 4082; ESW 4088) A 70cm & 30 drawers use this part number: (ESW 47X2; ESW 48X2) A All warehouse stock will soon be updated. A list of those serial numbers should be available once this update is complete. A The serial number breaks for the new electronics are as follows: A ESW > A ESW 4702 > A ESW 4712 > A ESW 4722 > A ESW 4802 > A ESW 4812 > A ESW 4822 > A ESW 4822 > A Reminder: The units are safe. A We are only replacing electronics for customers who complain about the timer feature. Do not tell the customer that this is a known issue. Just set up service and include the electronic as a required part. This information should not be duplicated or passed on without Miele approval. All rights reserved , US_am
