NAFA 25 JUNE 2013 Portable fridges have come a long way in a short time. The days of lugging heavy metal boxes with half a tonne of ice are over.

You will find units that run on 12 volt DC power off your car cigarette lighter; others that can be plugged into 100 or 240 volt mains power, or else run on gas.

If you happen to be in the market for a unit, then here is an easy way to compare the brands, and decide what best suits your needs.

Nowadays the fridge-freezer options available are all encompassing. You will find units that run on 12 volt DC power off your car cigarette lighter; others that can be plugged into 100 or 240 volt mains power, or else run on gas. In fact, you can have all three power options on a car fridge. Over the next few pages we invite readers to take a look at the car fridge/ ice-box options available.
