10 Use of Product Initial Setup Place the air conditioner on a flat, even floor, somewhere close to the window that you plan on venting the exhaust air. Setup and installation 20in In order to maintain the best performance of the air conditioner, please leave a space of at least 20in all around the machine. 20in 20in Exhaust hose assembly Exhaust joint Exhaust hose Exhaust flat nozzle Window sealplate assembly Screw Window seal plate 1 Window seal plate 2 Window seal plate 3 8

11 Step 1: 1. Measure dimensions of window; 2. Adjust the length of the window seal plate so that it fits the dimensions of the window; 3. 13 Incorrect installation Correct installation of the exhaust hose is very important, and incorrect installation will affect normal operation of the air conditioner negatively. Make sure to keep the exhaust hose as straight as possible to allow for the smoothest air flow inside the hose. Warning: The exhaust hose that is included with this unit is specifically designed for this A/C model and should not be replaced by a non-compatible exhaust hose or extended in anyway as this can cause issues when operating the unit. Attention: The maximum length of the exhaust hose when fully extended is 59in. When installing the exhaust hose, try reducing the overall length of the exhaust hose by collapsing it as much as possible during operation in order to get the best overall performance. Remote control Before using the remote control, please install batteries correctly. 1. Slide the battery cover off the back of remote control. 2. Insert the 2 AAA batteries included in the correct position as shown in this diagram. 3. Close the battery cover once the batteries have been installed correctly. Attention: 4. The remote control should only be used with AAA batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries or lithium-ion batteries. 5. When replacing the batteries, please make sure to replace both batteries together. Do not only replace one of the batteries at a time as this can affect the overall performance and longevity of the batteries. 6. If the air conditioner will sit idly for a while without any use, please remove the batteries from the remote control prior to storage. 11

14 Warning: 1. Please do not use any battery if you notice any type of damage or any leakage. 2. Chemical substances inside a battery may cause burns or other health hazards. If any fluid contacts your skin or clothes, please wash thoroughly with water immediately. If any fluid is consumed or contacts your mouth, please wash out your mouth with water immediately, and go to the hospital right away for further inspection. 12

(There is a 3 minute time-delay protective function for the compressor.) In DRY mode, the fan will not be adjustable and will only run on low setting. Temperature cannot be set in this mode. (Usage tip: When using the DRY function, the exhaust hose assembly should be removed and the windows should be closed. Otherwise, the unit will run a lot less efficiently, and you may often get the alarm for the water bucket being full with display screen flashing FL, as well as an audible alarm, and the compressor will shut off automatically.) 13

16 AUTO mode When entering this mode, the current room temperature will determine the temperature setting on the air conditioner. You can press the mode button on the machine or the remote control to cycle through the different modes until you are in AUTO mode, and the indicator light will be on TIMER mode In standby state, pressing the TIMER button will set the timer startup time. 17 Cleaning and Maintenance Water Drainage This air conditioner includes an automati c water evaporation system by using the condensate circulation to cool the condenser. This helps improve cooling efficiency as well as save energy. When the bucket inside the machine is full of water, the display screen will flash FL with a n audible alarm and the compressor will shut off automatically. The alarm means the bucket should be drained, and here are the steps to do so: 1. Disconnect the power plug and remove the exhaust hose assembly. 2. Move the air conditioner to an appropriate location where you can drain out the water. 3. Pull out the water drain plug in the water outlet to drain all the water from inside the machine. 4. Plug the water drain plug back into the water outlet to prevent water from pouring out. 5. Re-install the exhaust hose assembly, plug in the unit, and restart the machine. Maintenance Attention: To prevent electric shock, please turn off the air conditioner and disconnect the power cord from the outlet before attempting any maintenance or repair. Cleaning the Exterior Body 1. Disconnect the power plug before cleaning. 2. Use a lightly damp cloth to wipe the machine down Do not use any chemical reagents, such as benzene, alcohol, gasoline, etc., as this can damage the surface of the air conditioner, as well as internal components. 3. Make sure not to get any water into the air conditioner. 15

18 Air Filter Please clean out the air filters regularly. Once every 2 weeks is recommended as dust buildup in the filter will reduce the efficiency of the air conditioner. Here are the steps to clean out the air filter: 1. As shown in the diagrams below; remove the upper and lower air-inlet grilles, and then remove the corresponding air filters; 2. Wash the air filters in warm water (approximate 104 ) and a few drops of neutral detergent to clean. 3. Place in a cool and dry area. 4. Re-install the air filter once it has dried. 5. Restart the machine to return to normal operation. Attention: 5. Please do not clean the air filter with hot water, (suitable temperature is approximate 104 ) or harsh detergents (such as alcohol, gasoline and benzene, etc.); 6. When drying the air filter, it should be kept far away from any heat sources and put in a cool dry place to prevent deformation. 7. Do not run the air conditioner without installing the air filters. 16

19 Seasonal maintenance If you do not need to use the machine for a while, and it will be sitting idly for a long time, here is how you can store the unit to maintain the unit in good condition for future use. 1. Remove the water drain plug in the back of the unit and drain any water that is in the drain bucket. 2. Keep the air conditioner running in fan mode for 2 hours to allow the inside to completely dry to reduce risk of mold. 3. Shut down the unit and disconnect the power plug. 4. Remove and clean the air filter and then re-install. 5. Dismantle all accessories, such as the exhaust hose and window vent kit, and prepare it for storage. 6. Take the batteries out of the remote control. 7. Place a plastic bag over the entire unit to keep dust from getting into the internals, and store in a cool and dry place. If the machine is being reused after being idle for a long time, or after it has been in storage, please make sure to check: 1. Check to make sure the water drain plug and air filters have been re-installed. 2. Check whether the power cord has been damaged before plugging the unit in, and make sure not to operate the unit if the cord has been damaged. 3. Re-install batteries into the remote control. 4. Re-install all installation parts per the installation instructions provided in this manual. 17

20 Diagnosis of Common Failures Error codes E1 E2 E4 Failure of coil temperature sensor Multifunction detection Failure of indoor temperature sensor Anti-freeze protection: if the coil temperature falls below 32, the unit will shut down. As the coil temperature rises again above 46.4, the unit should return back to normal operation. Troubleshooting The table below shows some basic troubleshooting issues and solutions to quickly diagnose and fix simple problems that you may experience when using this air conditioner. If you cannot find the issue in the table below or you cannot fix the problem even after troubleshooting, please contact a professional service tech as the issue may require a more thorough inspection of the unit. 18

Noise in the air conditioner is big Compressor does not operate Timer shutdown function starts. Exposure to direct sunlight The doors or windows are open, or there is a heat sources in the room. Air Filters are too dirty Air intake or exhaust vent is being partially or completely blocked The air conditioner may not be a flat surface Time-delay protection of compressor has been enabled. Shut down for 3 min and restart the A/C to go back to normal operation. Close the window shades Close any open doors or windows, or remove the heat source from the room Remove the Air filters and clean or replace them. Make sure to reinstall the Air Filter prior to operating the A/C. Remove whatever may be blocking or obstructing any of the air intake or exhaust vents. Place the A/C on a flat, smooth, solid surface, and try to be careful when handling the unit as rough handling can shake loose internal components which can cause additional noise during operation.
