This saves energy and maximises the system's efficiency. This is illustrated in the two figures below comparing an electronic expansion valve with adaptive superheat control to one with a fixed superheat control and to a thermostatic expansion valve. In both comparisons, you gain the largest energy savings by the electronic expansion valve with adaptive superheat control. Adaptive suction pressure (P0 optimization) This feature optimizes the suction pressure within the complete refrigeration system and ensures that every single display cases operate at maximum efficiencies. Through the ADAP-KOOL control system the cases may also be individually selected to gain specific and critical operating data. In order to optimize the individual cases. Defrost optimization (adaptive defrost) Adaptive defrost is based upon the monitoring of individual evaporator performance. The energy balance between the refrigerant and air sides of the evaporator is compared and the defrost cycle is only initiated when actually required. Sensors within the display case also monitor ice build up and only when the ice reaches a defined threshold will defrost be initiated. This feature can provide savings of up to 17% compared to a defrost sequence based on a fixed schedule.
