Proceed as described under Setting amount of rinse aid and set the value to :. The rinse aid refill indicator X is now switched off. slutsi - Utsils Not suitable Cutlery and utsils made of wood. Delicate decorative glasses, craft and antique utsils. These decors are not dishwasher-proof. Plastic parts not resistant to heat. Copper and tin utsils. Utsils which are soiled with ash, wax, lubricating grease or ink. Aluminium and silver parts have a tdcy to discolour and fade during the wash cycle. Ev some types of glass (e.g. crystal glass objects) may turn cloudy after many wash cycles. Glass and utsil damage Causes: Glass type and glass production process. Chemical composition of the detergt. Water temperature of the wash programme. Recommdation: Use only glasses and porcelain which the manufacturer designates as dishwasher-proof. Use a detergt which protects utsils. Take glass and cutlery out of the dishwasher as soon as possible after the programme ds. Loading the dishwasher 1. Remove large food remnants. It is not necessary to prerinse utsils under running water. 2. Place the utsils so that they are secure and cannot tip over. all utsils with their opings face down. parts with curves or indtations are at an angle, thereby allowing water to drain. the spray arm 1" can still rotate freely. Very small utsils should not be washed in the dishwasher, as they can easily fall out of the utsils basket 1B. Unloading the dishwasher Hot utsils are ssitive to shock! Therefore, wh the programme ds, leave the utsils to cool down in the dishwasher until they can be handled. Note Wh the programme ds, water droplets can still be se inside the appliance. This does not affect the drying of the utsils. 12

13 Detergt BasketBasket 1B Folding spikesfolding spikes * * depding on model The spikes can be folded down to improve arrangemt of pans, bowls and glasses. Cutlery basket You should always place cutlery unsorted with the points downwards. To prevt injuries, place long, pointed implemts and knives on the knife shelf. Height of utsils The maximum height of the utsils is 28 cm.. Detergt ergtdet You can use tablets as well as powder or liquid detergts for dishwashers, but never use washing-up liquid. The dosage can be individually adjusted with powder or a liquid detergt according to the degree of soiling. Tablets contain an adequately large amount of active ingredits for all cleaning tasks. Modern, powerful detergts predominantly use a low-alkaline formulation with zymes. Enzymes break down starch and remove protein. To remove coloured stains (e.g. tea, ketchup), oxyg-based bleaching agts are gerally used. 13

14 Detergt Note To sure a good washing result, always follow the instructions on the detergt packaging! If you have further questions, we recommd that you contact the detergt manufacturers helpline. 2. Close the cover on the detergt dispser by sliding it up until the lock gages without difficulty. m Warning Read and observe the safety information and instructions for use on the packaging for cleaning and rinsing agts. Adding detergt 1. If the detergt dispser 1R is still closed, press the lock 1Z to op the detergt dispser. Pour detergt into the dry detergt dispser 1R only (insert tablet flat, not on its edge). Dosage: see manufacturer s instructions on the packaging. The graduated detergt dispser 1R helps you add the correct amount of powder or liquid detergt. The detergt dispser ops automatically at the optimum time depding on the programme. The powder or liquid detergt is distributed in the appliance and is dissolved. The tablet falls into the appliance and dissolves. Tip If the utsils are only lightly soiled, slightly less than the indicated amount of detergt is usually adequate. Suitable detergts and care products can be purchased online via our website or via customer service (see back page). 14

15 Detergt Combination detergt Apart from convtional detergts (Solo), a number of products are offered with additional functions. These products contain not only the detergt but also rinse-aid and salt replacemt substances (3in1) and, depding on the combination (4in1, 5in1, etc.), additional componts such as glass protection or stainless steel cleaner. Combination detergts function only up to a specific degree of hardness (usually 26 Clarke). Over this limit salt and rinse-aid must be added. As soon as combined detergts are used, the rinse programme is adjusted automatically to sure the best possible rinsing and drying result. Notes You will obtain optimum rinsing and drying results by using solo detergts and applying salt and rinse aid separately. If programmes are short, tablets may not have full cleaning effect due to differt dissolving properties and there may ev be undissolved detergt residue. It is recommded to use washing powder for these programmes. Ev if the rinse-aid and/or salt refill indicator is lit, the rinse programme will run correctly with combined detergts. If using detergts in a water-soluble protective cover: Take hold of the cover with dry hands only and put the detergt into an absolutely dry detergt dispser only, otherwise the detergt may stick. If you switch from combined detergts to solo detergts, sure that the water softing system and amount of rinse aid have be set to the correct value. 15

Tea or lipstick residue on the utsils. Coloured (blue, yellow, brown), difficult to remove to non-removable coatings in the appliance or on stainless steel utsils. Detergt substances are deposited. These coatings cannot usually be removed with chemicals (appliance cleaner,...). If there is a white coating on the container floor, the water softing system has be set marginally. Salt dispser cover 12 not closed. Only for glasses: Initial glass corrosion can only appartly be wiped off. Detergt substances are deposited. These coatings cannot usually be removed with chemicals (appliance cleaner,...). Hardness range incorrectly set or water hardness greater than 6,2 mmol/l. 3 in 1 detergt or bio/eco detergt not effective ough. Underdosing of detergt. Too weak rinse programme selected. Too low rinsing temperature. Too little or unsuitable detergt. Utsils precleaned too intsely; ssors therefore decide on weak programme sequce. Stubborn soiling cannot be completely removed. Film formation consisting of ingredits from vegetables (e.g. cabbage, celery, potatoes, noodles,...) or the tap water (e.g. manganese). Film formation caused by metallic componts on silver or aluminium utsils. Change detergt brand. Clean appliance mechanically. Increase softing setting and change detergt if required. Close salt dispser cover correctly. See Glass and utsil damage. Change detergt brand. Clean appliance mechanically. Set water softing system according to instructions for use or top up salt. Plastic parts discoloured. Too low rinsing temperature. Select programme with higher washing temperature. Discolouration of the plastic parts inside the appliance. Removable streaks on glasses, glasses with metallic appearance and cutlery. Initial or existing, irreversible clouding of glass. Utsils precleaned too intsely; ssors therefore decide on weak programme sequce. Stubborn soiling cannot be completely removed. Plastic parts inside the appliance may become discoloured during the service life of the dishwasher. Too much rinse aid. No rinse aid added or setting too low. Detergt residue in the final rinse programme section. Detergt dispser cover blocked by utsils (cover does not op fully). Utsils precleaned too intsely; ssors therefore decide on weak programme sequce. Stubborn soiling cannot be completely removed. Glasses not dishwasher-proof, only suitable for dishwasher. Do not prerinse utsils. Remove only large food remnants. Recommded programme Eco 50 Discolouration is normal and will not impair the function of the dishwasher. Set rinse aid amount to lower setting. Add rinse aid and check dosage (recommded setting 4-5). Detergt dispser cover must not be obstructed by utsils. Do not prerinse utsils. Remove only large food remnants. Recommded programme Eco 50 Use dishwasher-proof glasses. Avoid long steam phase (standing time after wash cycle ds). Use wash cycle at lower temperature.
