We have assembled a team of specialist like-minded contributors who will share their expertise in organic and sustainable horticulture, culinary skills and much more.

3 meet the team... Diane Norris is the new editor for Good Organic Gardening magazine. She has written for Burke s Backyard, Backyard & Garden Design Ideas, Gourmet Kitchen, Greenhouse Living and Organic WellBeing magazines. She was editor of Sustainable & Waterwise Gardens and Good Gardening Guide. Diane has lived the organic way for over 25 years and is committed to doing things the way Mother Nature intended. She was part of the Total Environment Centres Safer Solutions program, which promoted the implementation of Integrated Pest Management Systems to reduce and/or eliminate pesticide use in schools. Unashamedly earthy, she continues to promote sustainable and organic living solutions while advocating awareness of nature and wild places through her photography and writing. Kerry Boyne is managing editor of both Good Organic Gardening and WellBeing magazines and former editor of Cheap Eats in Sydney. Kerry has been passionate about good food and its relationship to natural health and living for as long as she can remember. She now lives in the NSW lower Hunter Valley with her family along with their cows, horses, chickens and house pets. Thanks to everything she has learnt and continues to learn through her publishing work, her vegie garden is flourishing. Contributors Melissa King is fast becoming one of Australia s most popular and respected garden experts. A horticulturalist, she spent four years as presenter on the ABC s prestigious Gardening Australia television show alongside Peter Cundall. She has also been a regular presenter on Channel Seven s Melbourne Weekender, Foxtel s Garden Angels, Channel Ten s The Circle and garden travel series Guru s Explore. These days you can catch her on Channel Nine s Garden Gurus. Her first book, Garden Feast, focuses on the delights of cooking and growing your own heirloom vegetables and she has written numerous articles for magazines and newspapers, including Gardening Australia, Burke s Backyard, The Age and The Herald Sun. She has launched her own range of hardy and beautiful plants under the banner King in the Garden. Jennifer Stackhouse is a horticulturist and garden writer who lives on a small property at Kurmond, NSW. Former editor of ABC Gardening Australia magazine, Jennifer is also the author and editor of many books on gardening, including co-authoring The Organic Guide to Edible Gardens, Planting Techniques and My Gardening Year. She is often heard on radio and at garden shows answering garden queries and has a popular blog GardenDrum

4 CONTRIBUTors Chloe Thomson grew up in a family that was passionate about organic gardening and cooking homegrown produce. She has created her own edible gardening blog Bean There Dug That which, on Facebook and Twitter, is a vehicle for people to share their gardening ideas, ask questions and find answers. Chloe has lived and gardened on a small farm, in tiny apartments, in crowded share houses and on your average suburban house block. She hopes to show that sustainable gardening and growing at least some of the food you eat is possible no matter where you live. Arthur and Rosemary Lathouris. Arthur is a well-known landscape designer and horticulturist who has helped create many beautiful gardens throughout the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and the greater Sydney area. He served as Director, Vice President and President on the Administrative Council of Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM) from 2003 to Rosemary is a respected environmentalist and educator who, along with Arthur, has established an inspiring sustainable garden, including a productive organic food garden, to complement their mudbrick home in Wentworth Falls, NSW. Both are committed to sustainable living and promoting environmental awareness through education. Simon Bryant is one of Australia s most acclaimed and favourite chefs. He called Hilton Adelaide home for around 10 years but is best known for his culinary prowess as the chef on the ABC s The Cook and the Chef alongside Maggie Beer. Simon has been cooking for over 20 years; Thai and Indian dishes are sentimental favourites on his menus. He makes conscious life choices and wants to use ethically sourced, local and fresh ingredients when he cooks. He modestly says, I reckon my job is just to get these onto a plate with the minimum of fuss and let the produce shine. Megg Miller is editor of Australasian Poultry and publisher of Grass Roots magazine. She is regarded as a leader in her field and writes regularly for Burke s Backyard, ABC Gardening Australia, Talking Birds and Heritage Sheep Australia magazines. Megg is the patron of numerous poultry clubs Australia-wide and at different times has owned cows, sheep, goats and, of course, all kinds of poultry. She conducts regular workshops and is guest speaker throughout the country at sustainable gardening events. what s inside...
