THE DOHENY FOUNTAIN GATEWAY Doheny Drive to Oakhurst Drive. Where Beverly Hills meets West Hollywood, along Doheny Drive, this stretch of the park serves as the City s eastern gateway. Set amidst lawn, trees and a flowering planting bed along Carmelita Avenue, the Doheny Fountain is the visual focal piece - a nod, like the street it graces, to a family that figures notably in Beverly Hills history. This block also features the renowned Beverly Hills shield, announcing arrival at one of the world s leading cities and serving as a photo opportunity for the tourists that have come to see it. The City is currently working on a gateway project at the center meridian of this block (see photo below) to make this city entrance even more prominent. MERIDIAN GATEWAY PROJECT ADOPT THE DOHENY FOUNTAIN GATEWAY $265,000

THE OAKHURST SIERRA GARDEN Oakhurst Drive to Sierra Drive. This garden is a serene passageway from the busy Doheny intersection to the east. Planting beds with a formal clipped boxwood hedge define the block as organizing elements for this stretch of the park. The clean edges provide a sense of order and serenity. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE OAKHURST SIERRA GARDEN $600,000

THE SIERRA ALTA GARDEN Sierra Drive to Alta Drive. Large freeform shaped beds at the corners of this garden are planted with a Southern California base plant palette of low shrubs and groundcovers. Two resting areas with metal benches provide a peaceful draw to this garden. ADOPT THE SIERRA ALTA GARDEN $485,000

THE ALTA ARDEN PERGOLA GARDEN Alta Drive to Arden Drive. A large pergola structure draws attention to this garden where white columns support brown wood trellis beams to provide shade for passersby. The structure also helps to visibly conceal gated access to the alley. Layering of Camellia and hedges provide an appealing backdrop to the residential border, while corner plantings add balance. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE ALTA ARDEN PERGOLA GARDEN $590,000

THE ARDEN HILLCREST GARDEN Arden Drive to Hillcrest Road. Brightly colored flowering perennials anchor the corners of this garden. A mix of Mediterranean plants such as Sea Lavender, Rhapheolepis and Daylilies liven the large stance of green lawn, while smaller planting beds towards the center are covered with Gazanias. Hedges at the Hillcrest edge could continue for a uniform residential backdrop. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE ARDEN HILLCREST GARDEN $560,000

THE HILLCREST PALM GARDEN Hillcrest Road to Palm Drive. This specialty palm garden presents a diverse collection of palm trees from around the world. An iconic symbol of the Southern California lifestyle, palms conjure visions of sunny weather and active everyday life. The current collection represents palms that are readily available in the region as well as more unusual species such as the Pindo Palm, Triangle Palm, and Parlor Palm. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE HILLCREST PALM GARDEN $580,000

THE PALM MAPLE GARDEN Palm Drive to Maple Drive. This garden features a selection of tropical and Mediterranean plantings, with flowering shrubs in the accent planting beds. This low grouping of plants allows for increased visibility from the decomposed granite pathway. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE PALM MAPLE GARDEN $590,000

THE MAPLE ELM ROSE GARDEN Maple Drive to Elm Drive. This formal garden of boxwood hedges creates planting beds for an assortment of white iceberg and other popular rose varieties. Multiple rectilinear and pentagonal beds accent the decomposed granite pathways throughout this stretch of the park. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE MAPLE ELM ROSE GARDEN $580,000

THE ELM FOOTHILL GARDEN Elm Drive to Foothill Road. Groupings of primarily long leaved Mediterranean shrubs are planted at the corners of this garden. A cluster of New Zealand Flax helps to anchor the planting areas in the lawn, while additional long bladed leaf shrubs in gray-greens, yellow-greens, and reddish-greens make an attractive corner focal point. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE ELM FOOTHILL GARDEN $565,000

THE FOOTHILL ALPINE ROSE GARDEN Foothill Road to Alpine Drive. The specialty rose garden is one of the park s most popular attractions. The popularity of roses dates back to the mid-1950 s when the resurgence of rose breeders raised exciting new varieties through adored older lines. This collection of roses is enhanced by several park structures including a curvilinear pergola, decorative benches, two dome metal trellises and an ornate water feature. Lighted bollards are located throughout the rose planter beds for better night viewing. ADOPT THE FOOTHILL ALPINE ROSE GARDEN $700,000

THE ALPINE REXFORD GARDEN Alpine Drive to Rexford Drive. This stretch of the park is a garden in transition. Large planting beds are being prepared for new shrubs and groundcovers. A plant palette of Mediterranean shrubs will enliven the park. Magenta flowering New Zealand Tea Tree shrubs provide a refreshing backdrop to the residential border along the north. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE ALPINE REXFORD GARDEN $450,000

THE REXFORD CRESCENT GARDEN Rexford Drive to Crescent Drive. Facing Beverly Hills beautiful City Hall, this stretch of the park is very lively with local transit. Plantings set the backdrop for two bold sculptures set in the lawn and planting beds. The first, Erratic, is a stainless steel boulder by internationally-acclaimed artist Roxy Paine, part of a larger series focused on geology. The second, Magdalena Abakanowicz s bronze Sitting Figure on a Short Bench, was originally located near the entrance to the Beverly Hills public library and relocated to Beverly Gardens Park in The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE REXFORD CRESCENT GARDEN $480,000

THE HUNTER AND HOUNDS GARDEN Crescent Drive to Canon Drive. Framing the north entrance to the city s official Civic Center this is the furthest east of the central program blocks within the park. This garden figures prominently in the city s bi-annual Art Show, and is home to two very distinct sculptures. The first, a modern bronze by Tony Smith, is aptly named Playground. The other, also a bronze, hearkens from a very different period. Jacquemart s war-riddled Hunter and Hounds was originally transported to Beverly Hills to commemorate local resident Longyear s son, killed in battle during WWI. Flowering Kangaroo Paws fill the oval planting bed, while the decomposed granite paths criss-cross to the four corners for easy access from all directions. A heavily used public restroom, soon to be expanded, is the only restroom facility along this linear park. The seating area in this garden features three metal benches. ADOPT THE HUNTER AND HOUNDS GARDEN $1,050,000

THE MONUMENT SIGN / LILY POND GARDEN Canon Drive to Beverly Drive. Visitors flock from around the world to take photos with the Beverly Hills monument sign. This sign was one of the earliest and most prominent focal points of the park, and was removed long ago due to lack of maintenance. It was recently recreated in a community-backed project led and funded by resident and author Robert S. Anderson in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Beverly Hills. A low and tranquil water feature is currently located in front of the sign. Like the sign, the lily pond originally in front of it disappeared, filled where a raised lawn now resides. This central block features additional key elements including a nearly century-old fig tree and The Drummer bronze, part of the hare series by celebrated Irish sculptor Barry Flanagan., bring back the lily pond ADOPT THE MONUMENT SIGN / LILY POND GARDEN $2,175,000

THE KUSAMA TULIPS GARDEN Beverly Drive to Rodeo Drive. Framing the north entrance to world famous Rodeo Drive, this is the furthest west of the central program blocks within the park. This garden is home to celebrated Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama s Hymn of Life: Tulips sculpture, and figures prominently in the city s Affaire in the Gardens bi-annual art show. Low growing perennials and tulips fill the multiple planting beds here while the decomposed granite paths criss-cross to the four corners for easy access from all directions. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE KUSAMA TULIPS GARDEN $320,000

THE CACTUS GARDEN Camden Drive to Bedford Drive. A once pristine collection of cactus and succulents is a popular stopping point along this two mile linear park. Visitors can walk along the decomposed granite pathways for close-up vantages of the many varieties of cacti and succulents. Mature aloes, agaves, opuntias and dracos provide structure to the garden. New specimens will transform the collection as a demonstration garden of sustainability and beauty. ADOPT THE CACTUS GARDEN $1,200,000

THE BEDFORD ROXBURY PERGOLA GARDEN Bedford Drive to Roxbury Drive. This garden is adjacent to the Church of the Good Shepherd. A curvilinear pergola graces the north edge of the garden, set against a clipped hedge, with an open view toward the street. Bench seating is arranged beneath the trellis. The decomposed granite pathway and bus stop are located along the boulevard edge with a lawn parkway. ADOPT THE BEDFORD ROXBURY PERGOLA GARDEN $350,000

THE ROXBURY LINDEN GARDEN Roxbury Drive to Linden Drive. Two large coral trees, set amidst a bed of lushly planted Lilly of the Nile shrubs, are the main attraction of this garden. Planting beds of Gazanias blend into the park lawn. A twenty foot wide alleyway bisects the garden and the decomposed granite pathway. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE ROXBURY LINDEN GARDEN $460,000

THE LINDEN WALDEN GARDEN Linden Drive to Walden Drive. Mature Grevillea trees are planted in simple beds of yellow flowering Gazanias, Heavenly Bamboo, and Lilly of the Nile shrubs. This planting pallette represents the early California Modern garden era. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE LINDEN WALDEN GARDEN $440,000

THE ELECTRIC FOUNTAIN GARDEN Walden Drive to Carmelita Avenue. A gift to the City of Beverly Hills from Harold Lloyd s mother, with installation funding from the Women s Club of Beverly Hills, the Electric Fountain stands in recognition of long-standing community philanthropy. It also serves as the centerpiece of one of the region s most conspicuous intersections, at Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards. Highly innovative for its time in 1931, it featured an 8-minute water show with jets timed to colored lights. Homage is paid to the local Tongva Native American tribe with the Robert Merrell Gage sculpture crowning the fountain. The fountain is complemented by a Mediterranean and early Modern California planting palette along this stretch of the park. The seating area in this garden features three metal benches. ADOPT THE ELECTRIC FOUNTAIN GARDEN $1,250,000

THE CARMELITA TRENTON PERGOLA GARDEN Carmelita Avenue to Trenton Drive. The focal piece of this garden is a restful space near Trenton. A vine covered pergola structure sets off a lovely stone paved area, decorated with turquoise and clay colored ceramic tiles reminiscent of early modern California pottery days. The pergola is often overlooked due to its vintage appearance and sparse furnishings. Large groupings of King Palms are planted in flowering beds of Gazanias marking the corners of the garden. The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE CARMELITA TRENTON PERGOLA GARDEN $640,000

THE WHITTIER GATEWAY GARDEN Trenton Drive to Whittier Drive. The intersection of Whittier and Wilshire serves as Beverly Hills western gateway, and the west entrance to the Beverly Gardens Park. This stretch of the park features classic plantings in monochromatic hues of green, as was often featured in gardens of the 1950 s. Lilly of the Nile, Azaleas, and Algerian Ivy are the principle shrubs and groundcover gracing this garden, which neighbors El Rodeo Elementary School. The City is currently working on a gateway project at the center meridian of this block to make this city entrance even more prominent (see photo below). The seating area in this garden features two metal benches. ADOPT THE WHITTIER GATEWAY GARDEN $700,000
