4 PLAY ZONE 1: CENTRAL PLAY HUB Potential age group: 0 to 12 Potential features: Multi-skill play equipment that is purchased off the shelf (supplied by a manufacturer) or a bespoke item (designed and constructed as a one off item). This piece should allow for a variety of play experiences and ages. Dry creek bed with pump/tap at one end to create water play. Bottom of creek bed could be lined with community art projects such as mosaics, crystals, fish tiles etc. The lower wall could act as a retaining wall or seating wall to protect other equipment on the upper level from flooding. Birds nest swing that allows for more than one child on the swing. Multi-use equipment that can be used in a variety of ways by the community such as low decks, stepping stones, climbing poles. Shade trees (could include more than 1) Seating nearby (set within concrete path) Near new public toilets PLAY ZONE 1: CENTRAL PLAY HUB SK03
5 PLAY ZONES 2 AND 3: MULTI-USE SPACES Potential age group: 6 to 12 Potential features: Lake side (zone 2): Multi-use equipment that can be used in a variety of ways by the community such as low decks, stepping stones, climbing poles. Picnic area, utilising low decks for seating Interpretive play through inclusion of an old row boat, ship steering wheel and telescope incorporated into one of the decks Public art opportunity through the creation of a community sculpture such as a large chair Enhanced beach area Under the trees (zone 3): A secondary space for carers to be close to children playing in zones 4, 5, and 6, also with views to the lake edge Seating provided Multi-use equipment that can be used in a variety of ways by the community such as low decks, stepping stones, climbing poles. Picnic area, utilising low decks for seating PLAY ZONE 2 AND 3: MULTI-USE SPACES SK04
