Spout size refers to the horizontal length (the part that rests on the container) rather than the height. Since the spout should be placed on the edge of the container, the base does not need to fit across the center of the pot. You can easily adjust the support arms to raise or lower the height of the fountain. The 7 and 12 sizes adjust by inserting a wedge to secure the support piece. For the 18 and 24 sizes, slide the black string outward, adjust the position, then slide the strings toward the center.

Lastly, you can change the contact surface where the water lands by adding stones or other materials. This spout is based on the kakehi fountain design, long-revered as a beautiful work of art and found in many of Japan s public parks and gardens. The fountain comes in two pieces - the long spout and the criss-cross support. Place the spout either horizontally or at an angle to flow into a basin or reservoir. The bamboo supports are adjustable to attain the ideal height. Be sure to google for kakehi fountain images in order to see the range of possibilities for designs! 11 Installation Hints for 12 &20 Rocking Fountain Both the 12 and 20 Rocking Fountains come mounted to a base, making installation a breeze. Some customers remove the rear upright piece by unscrewing it from the bottom and replacing it with a large stone to replicate the thud of a classic shishi odoshi. Be sure to keep enough water in the container to prevent the pump from running dry. If the pump makes noise or doesn t pump water, first try tapping it gently on the bottom of the pot or unplugging and replugging the electrical cord. If the pump starts to make a different sound, remove the front grill and use a toothbrush to gently clean the impeller.
