3 T ucked inside the Garden are a variety of unique and special places just right for your private event - from the Redwoods to the blooming Meadow to our the new Pritzlaff Conservation Center with its Island View Deck, Patio, and Garden. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, planning an intimate luncheon, a corporate meeting, team retreat, conference, or perhaps a small afternoon wedding, there are indoor and outdoor spaces available in a range of prices and sizes to fit your needs. Although we specialize in gatherings for groups of up to 80, the Garden also offers spaces for larger groups depending on the season. Garden facilities are available for rent by organizations, individuals, and businesses within the limits set by our Conditional Use Permit, when the garden is closed to the public and/or when there is no conflicting Garden activity. All decisions regarding use of the facilities are made by the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden, which reserves the sole right to determine appropriate use. 5 Additional Services Add-ons are subject to the facility being rented. Not all add-ons are available for all facilities. VENUE ADD-ONS Amplified voice outdoors or acoustic music outdoors (for sound monitoring equipment as required by our Conditional Use Permit) PRICE $100 Set up of facility tables/chairs $25 - $100 Clean up of facility $150 Garden staff present (as determined by SBBG; when alcohol is present) $30/hour Use of Garden tables/chairs (when not present) $75 Audio/visual (when not present) $100 Private use of the Pritzlaff Conservation Center upper deck (added on to use of one of the Pritzlaff Conference Rooms during the week) $250 EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES* (20 people maximum unless otherwise noted) Children s Pollinator Craft (1 hour) This craft activity teaches kids about some of the many characteristics flowers possess in order to lure pollinators. Children will design and assemble their own flower using a wide array of craft materials. Indoor venue recommended. Potting Workshop (1.5 hours) Work as partners or individually to create native plant container gardens. Lead by expert Garden staff. All materials included. Adult Nature Journaling (1.5 hour) See the Garden through an artist s eye. Garden staff will teach you the fundamentals of nature journaling. Colored pencils, paper and a copy of Spring Meadow: A Field Journal included. Kids Nature Journaling (1 hour) Garden staff will introduce children to the art of nature journaling through coloring and sketching. Colored pencils, paper, and coloring pages will be provided. Virtual Indoor Tour (1 hour) Wreath Making (1 hour, winter only) Boutonniere Making Workshop (1 hour) $100 instructor fee + $10/child materials fee + $30/person materials fee + $30/person materials fee + $15/child materials fee $300 for 2 instructors + $20/person materials fee + $20/person materials fee Docent-led tour (1 hour)** $250 Education display (staffed for 1 hour) $250 *Educational experiences require a minimum of one month advance notice unless otherwise noted. **Two months advance notice required. Additional programs are subject to availability. 5
6 Additional Information Event Start & End Time Hour limits begin when the group arrives to set up and end when the entire group has left. Event Time Restrictions The Garden cannot accommodate events that go past sunset. Music Music at the Garden cannot be amplified. Acoustic music is allowed for an additional sound monitoring charge. Voice announcements may be amplified but will also require the sound monitoring charge. Event Rentals Additional event add-ons including education tables, docents, site set up, site clean-up, furniture removal, and additional staff are available for an extra fee upon request with adequate advance notice. Alcohol All events where alcohol is to be served require a Garden staff person to be present at all times at an additional cost of $30 per hour. Discounts Events occurring between 9am and 5pm Monday through Thursday receive a 20% discount, excluding holidays. Events for 80+ guests Events for parties larger than 80 guests require the Garden to close and are available on a limited basis for an additional $10,000 charge. Guest total cannot exceed 205 in high fire season (May 1 - Nov 30), and 255 in low fire season (Dec 1 - April 31). Addiional restrictions apply to events for over 80 guests.
