LEADING INNOVATIONS IN SUSTAINABLE URBAN DRAINAGE
FLEXIBLE POROUS PAVING Trailflex is a low cost and completely SUDS compliant water management solution. Trailflex uses recycled car tyre and stone bound with our specially developed resin to create one of the greenest paving solutions on the market today. Originally developed for areas containing trees under protection order. Trailflex allows for up to 90 degree flexibility without compromising weight loading or strength, making the finished surface adaptable in physical form therefore removing any risk of root intrusion and subsequent cracking. Trailflex will not clog and requires virtually no maintenance, ensuring fast and efficient drainage of rainwater and the replenishment of groundwater, allowing surrounding trees and plants to thrive. With a straight line loading of 17.5 tonnes Trailflex paving is extremely robust, making it suitable for almost any paving application in town or country. Trailflex requires minimal ground work and is BREEAM accredited.
ONE PART COLD POURED SYSTEM SUDS COMPLIANT, BREEAM ACCREDITED UNIQUE SYSTEM OF STONE AND RECYCLED CAR TYRES EASY BREEAM CREDITS ARE AVAILABLE TOTALLY POROUS, EXTREMELY DURABLE, LOW MAINTENANCE UNRIVALLED POROSITY, UP TO 50,000 LTRS PER M2 PER HR FULL 360 DEGREE ATTENUATION BRE TESTED FOR IMPACT AND FREEZE THAW 18 TONNE STRAIT LINE LOADING SLIP RESISTANT FAST INSTALLATION AVAILABLE WITH A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT COLOUR OPTIONS TRAILFLEX CARRIES A 10 YEAR CONTINUOUS POROSITY GUARANTEE
PUBLIC REALM AND URBAN AREAS Trailflex is suitable for use in public realm spaces by reducing trips and falls subsequently providing a pleasant surface on which to walk. Due to the shock absorbent qualities of the surfacing it can also reduce the risk of potential injury from falling to cyclists and pedestrians. For most applications Trailflex is laid on to prepared groundworks. We generally recommend a minimum sub base of 50mm of type 3 aggregate for footpaths and 200mm for car parks or driveways however in some circumstances no ground works are needed prior to installation. Prepared groundworks help to provide a level surface which will remain free of standing water due to the highly porous nature of the product. Trailflex will drain up to 50,000 litres of rainwater per square metre per hour. FOREST TRAILS AND PARK PATHS Trailflex has an unrivalled flexibly of up to 90 because of this Trailflex can be laid directly onto Terram. Using this method of installation allows Trailflex to adapt in physical form, allowing the surface to follow the contours of the surrounding terrain. This is especially useful where there are restrictions on the use of heavy machinery or problems with access to remote areas. Trailflex allows existing tree roots to move freely under its surface without risking damage to either the surface or the tree. TREE PITS Trees that are unable to access sufficient water will spread their roots in search of it. This can cause millions of pounds worth of damage to pavements as well as underground services. Trailflex helps to overcome these problems by allowing a free flow of water and nutrients to the roots of the tree.
MAINTENANCE FREE Trailflex allows small finds/grit to agitate through the surface as the area is used. This produces a hostile environment for weeds and seedlings. Trailflex allows expansion and contraction and is unaffected by extremes in temperature which may otherwise cause damage due to freeze thaw. FAST INSTALLATION Trailflex can be laid extremely quickly using minimal equipment, reducing disruption to the public. Once installed Trailflex is completely cured and ready to use within 16 hours. TRAILFLEX EVEN WORKS ON HEAVY CLAY SOILS Trailflex is effective on heavy clay soils however we generally recommend that a layer of type 3 aggregate is installed prior to installation as a sub base in order to further slow down the return of rainwater to the water table. As clay can liquefy when it is saturated Terram will usually be required to stabilize the ground beneath the aggregate sub base.

LEGISLATION SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage solution) is a new legislation brought into action alongside the water management act SUDS is now a legal requirement in planning to prevent surface water runoff and the severe environmental impacts it causes. RECYCLING In addition to Trailflex s water dispersal properties it also has the significant benefit of using the equivalent of 3 recycled tyres for every square meter of paving. This helps reduce a major recycling problem. ENVIRONMENT Rapid water runoff from hard paving has severe environmental impacts. These include downstream flooding, the transfer of pollutants into watercourses and depletion of ground water levels. SOLUTION Trailflex s unique solution overcomes these problems by allowing drainage infiltration on site. This is the preferred water dispersal option of the Environment Agency and the focus of the SUDS legislation.
