General Park Impressions: Park is need of improvements as most of the facilities and structures are original. The park is tired and outdated. Accessibility Level: Good access with paved road into park with paved parking lot and paved paths. However visibility is a challenge as it is in behind several houses and does not have good access through the neighborhood.

2 Improvements / Goals for Park: Park Feature Description Deficiencies Recommended Action 1 Single Table Shelter Shelter with one table designed for walk-up use. 2 Picnic Tables Aluminum in-house built tables used by residents for meals and gatherings. 1. Shelter house is original and has significant wear. 2. Picnic table is constructed in house and does not provide the image desired. 3. Trash cans are 55 gal. barrels, while very functional, it does not provide the image desired. 1. Tables are built using bleacher seating made in-house. 2. Appearance is not appealing and not up to the standards of todays park amenities. 3 Benches Aluminum in-house built benches. 1. Tables are built using bleacher seating cut-down to required lengths. 2. Appearance is not appealing and not up to the standards of todays park amenities. 4 Trash Cans 55 gal drum barrels used for trash receptacles. 5 Playground Playground for tots and youth with slides, merry-go-round, swings and other play features. 1. Trash cans are a 55 gal. drum painted with no lids 2. Appearance is not appealing. 3. With no lids animals get into the containers and scatter trash. 1. Surface is mulch 2. Structure is from 1989 and has outlasted its life expectancy. 3. Poles and features have paint peeling / fading. 4. Old board walk area has deficiencies. 5. Signs need to be replaced. 1. Replace Shelter House 2. Purchase new picnic tables. 3. Replace trash barrels with receptacle type. 4. Potentially look at making the shelter larger for the park. 1. Replace all picnic tables within the park. 1. Replace all benches within the park. 1. Replace all trash barrels with appropriate trash receptacles. 1. Replace mulch with a pour in place surface or synthetic turf surface to reduce long term maintenance cost and man hours. 2. Replace all play components with new structure. 3. Update board walk area. Asphalt Surface Asphalt walking paths 1. No irrigation exists. 2. Mulch in beds. 3. No plant material exists. 1. Parking lot and roadway has several pot holes, alligator cracks, rutting and raveling occurring. 2. No stripping of parking space can be seen. 3. Parking lot has been patched several times. 1. Trail has several areas where the surface has heaving and not level. 2. Major cracking of surface creating several trip hazards. 3. Ensure trail width is 10 foot minimum. 1. Renovate surface with new construction method of suspended concrete to reduce cracking. 2. Top Coat surface with striping. 3. Replace backboards and rims. 4. Replace fencing with black vinyl coated material. 5. Rebuild retaining wall to straighten. 1. Add irrigation to reduce man hours. 2. Provide plant material to area. 3. Provide appropriate levels of mulch to protect plants. 1. Overlay and/or remove existing parking lot material and compact sub grade and repave lot. 2. Stripe lot for parking. 1. Trail on the south side of Dogwood needs to be totally removed and replaced. 2. Trail to the north has some removal patch work. 3. Entire surface would need seal coated and crack filled that is not replaced. 4. Widen areas as need to meet 10 ft. widths.
