3 SPEAKERS SPEAKERS Philip Anderson, is the National Sales Manager for System Sensor Canada based in Mississauga, Ontario. Philip holds a Fire Protection Engineering Diploma from Seneca College and has been working in the Fire Safety industry for the past 15 years. He has been an active member of the CFAA since Ken Baird, is the Vice President of Systems Engineering for Leber/ Rubes Inc. where for the past 22 years he has been a fire protection consultant.with more than 40 years of experience in the fire protection industry, his understanding of fire protection technology has created very progressive and highly reliable fire detection designs to address the needs of our building and their occupants. He has participated in the development of the Codes and Standards which affect life safety is currently a member of the CFAA executive, chairman of the ULC subcommittee for fire alarm control panels and a participant in a number of working groups. Donald Boynowski, is the Product Manager for Siemens Building Technologies, Ltd., Fire Safety Division. A Certified Engineering Technologist and a CFAA registered Fire Alarm Technician, Don has over 30 years experience in the fire alarm industry. Don is a voting member of the ULC Committee on Fire Alarms Equipment and Systems and serves on various Sub-Committees and Working Groups. He is also Canadian Co-Chair of the NEMA ULC/UL Technical Harmonization Committee for Notification Appliances. Don represents ULC on the UL Standards Technical Panel for Mass Notification Control Units (UL2572) and will chair the working group that will create the Canadian version, ULC-S576. Dave Goodyear, is president of D. Goodyear Fire Consulting, which offers fire investigation and fire safety consulting services. He has over 30 years experience in fire protection engineering, including 20 years with the Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal. He has specialized knowledge in post fire evaluation and an extensive background in fire alarm systems. Dave is on many fire alarm related ULC standards writing committees and is a member of the ULC/ULI Harmonization Co-ordinating Conference and Technical Committee. He is a member of the NFPA technical committee on Fire Alarm Fundamentals (NFPA 72) and the Canadian Advisory Council to ISO/TC21/SC3. Tony Crimi, is the founder of A.C. Consulting Solutions Inc., which specialize in Building and Fire Protection related Codes, Standards, and product development activities in Canada, the US, and Internationally providing services to manufacturer s and industries in achieving testing and product approval/recognition. Prior to founding ACCS in 2001, he spent over 15 years in the area of Codes, Standards, Testing, and Conformity Assessment with Underwriters Laboratories of Canada, where at various stages he was responsible for Engineering & Laboratory Operations, Standards Development, Regulatory Affairs, Field Services & Quality System Registration, and concurrently held the positions of Vice President & Chief Engineer. Mr. Crimi continues to be a contributor to a wide range of Codes and Standards development activities in Canada, the US, and Europe. He is currently the Chair of the NBCC Standing Committee on Fire Protection, Chair of the Ontario Building Code Part 3 Technical Advisory Committee, and a co-chair of the Ontario Building Code Energy Advisory Council. In addition to his Code Development activities in Canada, Mr. Crimi is an active participant and/or member of the International Code Council, NFPA, ASTM, ULC, UL, IEC & ISO. Mr. Crimi holds a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering and Applied Sciences from the University of Toronto.

4 SPEAKERS SPEAKERS Paul Jewett, is a Corporate Trainer for Mircom Technologies Ltd. He has been actively involved in fire alarm inspection and service for over 30 years, specializing in large hotels and hospitals. Paul is a qualified CFAA instructor presenting courses for Seneca Collage and has participated in working groups for ULC standards. He is a member of the CFAA Board of Directors and registered technician since Nicole LeBlanc, is the Loss Control Manager for Intact Insurance in Ontario. With 12 years of industry experience, Nicole is responsible for managing Intact Insurance s in-house team of loss control inspectors. Nicole is a frequent presenter and trainer in the areas of liability loss prevention, building construction, building valuations, restaurant fire protection, sprinkler systems, and industrial process hazards. An instructor with the Insurance Institute of Canada and a member of the Executive Committee for the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, Nicole also holds her Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation Mike Seiling, is the Director of Building for the City of Kitchener with 25 years of construction experience in both private and public sector. He has reviewed residential and non-residential projects including fire alarms for building code compliance. Mike is a Board member with the Ontario Building Officials Association. David Sylvester, is a Senior Life Safety Systems Specialist at Morrison Hershfield Limited in Toronto. David has over 21 years of engineering experience, within fire protection and life safety systems and with related services, as a designer, building systems manager and consultant. He is an accredited Master Electrician/Electronic Technician with experience in electrical/fire alarm instruction/ training. He also provides instruction on the Canadian Electrical Code at George Brown College and Fire Protection Engineering at Seneca College. David is 1st Vice President and Chair of the Education Committee for the CFAA. Andrew Turchet, is a regional sales manager for Xtralis and is responsible for the business development of their premier product Vesda. Andrew has over fourteen years experience in the fire industry performing roles ranging from technician, design, project management and sales. His depth of knowledge of special hazards and more specifically aspirated smoke detection systems along with his hands on approach has contributed greatly to his success. Making Andrew a sought after resource in the risk management and consulting community. Mr. Turchet is a graduate of the Fire Protection program at Seneca College, and is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

5 REGISTRATION LOCATION The Executive Learning Centre in the Schulich School of Business, York University will host the 2010 Annual Technical Seminar. This is a state of the art facility, and is designated non-smoking. Registration begins at 7:30 am in the Schulich School of Business Main Entrance which faces Ian MacDonald Blvd. OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS The Executive Learning Centre houses 60 hotel rooms for overnight accommodations.
