4 S5 B4+ B3 B2 B1- ST1 S A Product description SI Product description The central control unit with remote transmission is of modular construction. The SI 120 central control unit is connected via the E-Bus with remote keypads, transponders and power supply units. The E-Bus forms the communication between the central control unit and the bus users. It also provides the power supply to peripherals and external consumers (B1- as a negative and B4+ as +12 V). These can be used for audio and/or video Audio To use audio components, the central control unit must be fitted with an WMA 11 audio circuit board. All the audio components can be connected via the audio terminal of the WMA 11. If microphones and speakers (WAS 11, WAC 11) are wired directly to the audio terminal, these are always activated in the event of an audio verification. If on the other hand E-Bus components (WAC 12, WAC 32) are used, these are only active when the corresponding verification zone is activated. The first 6 seconds of the audio signal after an alarm can be recorded with a SMV 11 voice module and monitored over the telephone. Audio / Video E-Bus Audio Video WAV 61 WAC 12 Monitor WAS 11 WAC 11 WAS 11 WAC Video The video can be used locally with a monitor or with alarm transmission. With local video, the current picture is shown on the monitor. A video circuit board (WMV 61, WAV 61 or WMV 11/12) is required for this. One of the LCD remote keypads can be programmed as a video keypad. In this case the name of the current verification address is shown and it is possible to change over between the individual addresses. During an alarm transmission, the pictures recorded after the alarm was triggered are transmitted. A WMV 11/12 video circuit board is required in the central control unit for this purpose. The alarm receiving station must, of course, be provided with a receiver which can receive the video pictures Components SAK 52 - remote keypad with microphone, speaker SAK 72/74 - led keypad with microphone, speaker WAS 11 - microphone WAC 11 - microphone, speaker WAC 12 - microphone, speaker, addressable WAC 32 - microphone, speaker, camera, addressable (for versions refer to Data Sheet) WAT 21 - interface for microphone, speaker, camera, addressable WAC Addressing The E-Bus components (WAC 12, WAC 32 and WAT 21) are addressed in the system as verification components (addresses 1 to 6), with one component per address. The SAK 52 cannot be assigned freely to a verification address, but instead, the number of the keypad address is always used (keypad with keypad address 2 is assigned to verification address 2). 6 Radio SI Radio The SI 120 can be expanded by 1 radio receiver. Up to 7 remote controls or panic transmitters and up to 12 detectors can be programmed for each receiver. The de tectors replace inputs on the transponders. A radio receiver can therefore replace up to 1 line transponders Radio receiver The RAR 22 radio receiver is connected to the central control unit via the E-Bus. All parameters are programmed through the central control unit. The radio components are also addressed via the remote keypad. Important! The installation instructions must be followed when installing the individual units. Supply package The SI 120 package contains the following: - One SI 120 central control unit. - One set (3 off) of spacers. - Installation instructions - 12 terminating resistors, 4.7 kohm. I W E 3. Mounting instructions The SI 120 is designed for mounting in dry indoor rooms. It must not be exposed to dripping or splashing water. 8 B1- B2 B3 B4+ Product overview / Mounting C A 1,5 cm B 3.3 Fit housing (fig. 4) 1 - Mark the drilling position for the 3 outer mounting holes (C). 2 - Drill the holes and insert plugs. 3 - Screw in the screws leaving approximately 1.5 cm proud (B). 4 - From the back, snap the spacers into the slots provided at the 3 mounting holes (A). 5 - Pass the connecting cable through the opening (D) in the back and hang the back on the screws. 6 - Tighten the mounting screws. D A Fig. 4 4,5 x 45 S6 Ø 6 mm 4. Wiring The terminals are shown in figs. 3 and 5 and in the wiring diagram on the housing cover. A B 4.1 Mains supply (fig. 5) The connection to the mains supply must be made according to national guidelines by qualified personnel only. The central control unit should preferably be connected through a separate unswitched fused spur. Cable type NYM 3 x 1.5 mm 2 is recommended. 1 - Ensure that the mains supply terminal is de-energised. 2 - Remove the mains supply fuse (A). 3 - Check the protective conductor connection to the housing. 4 - Connect the mains to the mains supply terminals (B) (earth, neutral N and live L). 5 - Secure the cable to the clips on the back using cable ties. Fig. 5 Electric Safety Declaration: Dangerous voltage: Mains terminals (B) A 4.2 E-Bus (fig. 6) Cable type 24 AWG 7 x 2 mm for E-Bus cable is recommended. The E-Bus cable distance between control panel and peripherals must not exceed 500 m otherwise an E-Bus amplifier must be used. The use of larger diameter cable or additional E-Bus power supplies are recommended if the load causes excessive voltage drop. B2 and B3 must not be run in the same pair. The E-Bus (A) [B4+, B3, B2, B1-] must be connected with remote keypad and to other peripherals. Fig. 6 If shielded cable is used, the shield must be connected to the earth screw (fig. 3 ; q). Where there are several shielded cables, all the shields must be brought to this point. 8

When wiring fire detectors, any trouble output present can be looped directly into the line. For fire detectors where the power has to be disconnected to reset the alarm, the negative can be connected via an output which is programmed as a Latching sensor reset output. 2. Trouble Z Z Several detectors which are alarm and tamper monitored (fig. 7b) The switching of several detectors to one input which are monitored for alarm and tamper is shown. 5. Start-up 5.1 Powering up the system Before power is connected to the system, all bus components must be connected to the E-Bus and thus to the central control unit Switch on the 240 V mains supply 1 - Ensure that everything is correctly connected and wired and then switch on the external mains supply. 2 - Refit mains supply fuse. Fig. 7b Z After the power is applied, all inputs from the central control unit and the peripherals are switched off for 1 minute. The engineer PIN (258369) should be input during this period in order to obtain the programming mode. B 5.2 PC/ISDN jumper setting Without SML 61 The jumper ST3 must be on the «position PC», so the connector (fig. 3 ; E) can be used for Sylcom or print out. With SML 61 The jumper ST3 must be on the «position ISDN». After changing the jumper ST3 to the position «ISDN» the Control Panel must be reset. the SML 61 will be recognised automatically after 30 seconds. In this position the connector (fig. 3 ; E) can not be used anymore. To use Sylcom in local programming the jumper ST3 can be changed temporary to the «PC position». A Fig. 8 9

10 Engineer menu / Addressing 5.3 Start system All E-Bus peripherals (transponders, remote keypads and power supply units) are set with bus address 1 on delivery. Regardless of whether the central control unit has already been programmed before installation or need to be programmed during start-up, new bus addresses must first be assigned to the E-Bus peripherals and entered in the system. When assigning bus addresses to transponders and power supply units, it should be noted that the numbers of the inputs and outputs of the transponders and the numbers of the outputs of the power supply units are determined by the bus address. The allocation of the numbers of the inputs and outputs is given in the programming tables. The factory-set PINs for engineers and users should be changed for safety reasons. Important: After changing the EPROM a reset to factory programming must be done 5.4 Access to the engineer menu from the LCD remote keypad A selection can also be made directly by inputting the relevant number. 1:BUS OPTIONS PERIPH SETUP e.g. Selection of menu function 9: BUS OPTIONS The fi rst sub-function is directly displayed. 5.5 Addressing system peripherals The addressing takes place in the engineer menu. 9:BASIC MENU BUS OPTIONS Selection of menu function. TRIGGER TAMPER ALARM Now the tamper contact of a E- Bus peripheral must be operated within 1 minute, e.g. by opening the central control unit or some other system part. If the user has given the access to the engineer menu no triggering of the tamper alarm is required. 1:PERIPH. TYPE TRANSPONDERS Selection of type of equipment. TRANSPONDER 1 Press the address key, and hold for approximately 2 seconds, on the trasponder which is to have the selected address (1 in this case). 10

11 Initialising / Factory and customer-specific programming The address keys are inactive for the first 5 seconds. Then press and hold the address key for approximately 2 seconds, during which time the LED must come on. Immediately the LED fl ashes again the address is entered. The address keys are then inactive again for 5 seconds, i.e. the next bus peripheral cannot be addressed until these 5 seconds have elapsed. For transponders and power supply units, a bus address is assigned by pressing the address key on the circuit board. The remote keypads are assigned a bus address by simultaneously pressing keys and. If ALL is selected, the address is automatically incremented by 1 after the address key is pressed on transponder 1 and the next transponder can be addressed. This address mode is also available for remote keypads and power supply units and is used mainly for the initial installation. Targeted addressing is preferred when bus peripherals are changed or the system is expanded. ADDRESS.DONE TRANSPONDER 1 X TRANSPONDER X? * Addressing the selected transponder is ended. The confi guration of the peripherals is displayed. The symbols in the second line show the state of the corresponding address. First position = address 1, second position = address 2 etc. The symbols have the following meanings. - : Bus peripheral does not exist. * : Bus peripheral is on the bus and has an address but is not recognised by the central control unit as part of the system.?: Bus peripheral is registered in the central control unit as a part of the system but is missing. 1: If the bus address is shown, the bus peripheral is addressed under the corresponding number and is also accepted as a peripheral under this number. SAVE CONFIG. YES = NO = X TRANSPONDER X? The system configuration must be stored if the peripheral are to be accepted as such in the central control unit. Store. The peripheral are shown with the bus address. Important! If the address of the remote keypad from which the engineer menu has been entered is changed, the plug connector «Configuration» (fi g. 3 ; R) must be closed for 2 seconds. If a recognised peripheral already has a bus address which is to be assigned to a different bus peripheral, this must fi rst be deleted. 5.6 Initialisation and factory programming Initialising Result : The system starts from new. All programming is retained. Procedure : Briefly press the «Initialisation» key (fig. 3 ; T) on the main circuit board SM Reset to factory programming Result : The customer-specific programming is overwritten by the factory programming. The system is then started from new. Procedure : On the main circuit board SM 120, close the plug connector for «Configuration» (fig. 3 ; R) and at the same time briefly press the «Initialisation» key (fi g. 3 ; T). After the relay on the main circuit board has energized twice, open the «Configuration» plug again. 5.7 Customer-specific programming The customer-specifi c programming can now be carried out using the individual menu functions. The structure is shown in the annex Menu data input, user selectable (example: user name) NAME < > JONE_ Existing characters must be overwritten to change. Select the character position. Press the numerical keys once or repeatedly to input the required letters or numbers. Press arrow key after each input. Confi rm text input at end. During an alphanumeric input the keyboard switches automatically to letters and numbers. The key assignment is shown on the information card in the back of the remote keypad. Example: Once = letter «A» Twice = letter «B» Three times = letter «C» Quit. Four times = numb. «1» The addressing is carried out in the same manner for external power supply units and for remote keypads. 11

12 Technical data Important! Special keys Telephone and customer numbers are deleted by overwriting with «F». The value «F» is entered by pressing the key. The letters «B» and «C» are also on the or keys. These keys are used to input telephone numbers. The fi rst character of a telephone number must always be either «B» (dial tone) or «C» (engage line for 2 seconds and wait). Information in addition to the current display can be requested using the key. Further information can be displayed by pressing the key again or the display is returned to the original display Predefined selections (example: modify PIN ) MODIFY PIN < > MENUS : The first line shows the menu function. The second line shows the user authorisation for the menu functions. «Number» = authorised menu function. «-» = not authorised. Select the menu function. Change authorisation. Confi rm input. D 5.8 End engineer menu DO YOU WANT TO EXIT? SAVE PARAMETERS IN PROGRESS... Press repeatedly until «DO YOU WANT TO EXIT» appears in the display. End. This display is present as long as the data is being saved. Do not press the reset key in the central control unit during this time. If no key is pressed for a period of 20 minutes, the engineer menu is automatically left. 6. Close and seal housing (fig. 9) 1 - Engage the cover in the retainer (A). 2 - Connect the earthing lead to the cover (B). 3 - Lightly lift and close the cover (C). 4 - Tighten cover retaining screw (D). When the cover is opened again, e.g. for servicing, there is no need to remove it completely. After slackening the screw, the cover can be lifted gently, swung downwards and suspended in the base. 7.
