1 4.2 Control panels and repeater panels EFBW series - BiWire Ultra control panel Eaton s new BiWire Ultra fire detection system is unlike any other standard conventional system as the panel, conventional detectors, sounders and EN54-23 approved beacons all share the same zone wiring. This delivers significant savings in both cable and installation costs without sacrificing the systems capability. Supporting up to 52 devices per zone, all panels in the range have the facility to flash detector LED s to facilitate the location of any wiring faults. When the fire panel enters a fault condition it will turn on the General Fault indicator and the appropriate fault indicator (refer to 8 for more details). The panel buzzer will sound a slow pulsing tone. 2. System Fault Severe failure of the panel, the service company must be contacted immediately. 3 EFBW5IN1DET - BiWire Ultra detector 5 in 1 The BiWire Ultra range offers a multi-mode, 5 in 1 detector, approved to both EN54 parts 5 & 7, which covers many building needs. It s quick and simple to install with a stylish low profile design. The detector is mounted on our standard conventional base (FXN520). Each detector is fitted with a 360 viewable LED for indication. This 5 in 1 detector can be configured to operate as either an optical detector, photo-thermal detector or 1 of 3 heat detector modes (rate of rise and 2 fixed heat models) using the four position switches located at the back of the detector. The EFBW5IN1DET is certified for use in all 5 modes. Detectors are fixed and wired via common mounting base. 2. Cable entry into base can be rear or side. 3. A locking facility is provided which can be activated if required to prevent unauthorised detector removal without the use of a special tool. 4. Positive click mechanism incorporated to provide clear indication when detector is correctly located in base. User interface 1. Red LED to indicate alarm condition. 2. 5 EF5021BW range - BiWire Ultra base sounder & base sounder VAD The BiWire Ultra base sounder and base sounder VAD can be used both with a detector or as a stand alone device. The base sounder and base sounder VAD are certified to EN54-3 and EN54-23 respectively. The base sounder and base sounder VAD both incorporate a detector mounting base allowing a detector to be fitted directly to the base, or alternatively a cover plate can be used to provide a dedicated, discreet stand alone device. Installation is simple using first fix base. 2. First fix base is fixed to mounting surface via 2 fixings holes. 3. Cables enter through aperture in base (rear entry only) 4. 9 EF201BWCP, EF203BWCPWP - BiWire Ultra callpoints Two versions of the BiWire Ultra callpoints are available in this range, the EF201BWCP which can be either surface or flush mounted and the EF203BWCPWP which is a weatherproof version. Both the EF201BWCP and the EF203BWCPWP are compatible with the Eaton s BiWire Ultra range of fire systems. These callpoints are designed for fast and simple installation and are supplied as standard with a frangible glass element and a test key for ease of maintenance. A comprehensive range of accessories is available to maximise the functionality of the callpoint for particular applications. In addition, back box can accept top or bottom surface entry cables. Surface callpoint can also be flush mounted. 2. Callpoint has test facility via special test key to prevent unauthorised operation. 3. Insertion of test key for test purposes and for cover removal is at bottom of callpoint to facilitate ease of access when mounted next to door architrave. 4. Test key is dual function, used to test callpoint operation by simulating activation and also to allow removal of clip on cover to gain access to element. 5. Element is held in place by clip on self locking cover which can only be removed by use of a special tool (callpoint test key). 6. Separate zone in and zone out terminals are provided for all connections. 7. Surface/flush callpoints are IP21C, weatherproof is IP66. User interface 1. To enable quick and simple installation, callpoints use a fast fit self locking clip on front cover which is very simple to fit, but once in place, can only be removed by use of a special key (supplied). 2.
