General information The panel must always have its manual included in the supply and the manual must be kept in a handy place available for qualified technicians in charge of use and maintenance of the system. We recommend installers/users to read the prescriptions and information in this manual before using the product, in order to prevent damage or wrong use of the equipment that also voids the warranty. Please read carefully this manual and follow the instructions included before starting the equipment. The indications and instructions included in this manual refer to a standard use of the product; for special situations, operations or applications that are not listed below please contact our after-sales service. Should you need to get in touch with our technical service or to order spare parts please specify the identification code of the model and the manufacturing number indicated on the plate. Our after-sales department and service is always available. The electrical machine supplied must be installed indoors in a ventilated room, with temperature ranging between +40 C and -5 C. N.B.: the information included in this manual can be modified without notice. Any damage caused by these instructions will not be kept in consideration since these instructions are only indicative. We wish to remind you that non-compliance with indications that we include may cause damage to persons and goods. Installation Check that mains supply is the same as the one indicated on the plate of the electrical panel and of the motor connected to the panel, then connect earth before making any other connection. Fix the electrical wires in the terminals using a tool of suitable size to prevent fixing screw damage. Special attention is required if using an electric screwdriver. Set-up and calibrations MOTORS PROTECTION CALIBRATION Prior to switch the panel on it is necessary to set-up the overload protection with the and PROCEDURE FOR OVERLOAD PROTECTION SET-UP During this operation it is necessary to exclude the delay protection (8 sec.) by plugging the and With motor running, protection trimmer in max value position and the jumper plugged, rotate slowly the regulator toward the minimum value as far as the motor stops running. 9 AUTOMATIC OPERATION SET-UP The panel DRENA 2 can be used with the function of automatic exchange of the motors for each start or with direct on/off activation. The set-up of the operation type should be done on the jumper ALTERNANZA: in ON position for activating the automatic. With this setting the motors 1 and 2 will activate in alternatively at each input from G/P 1 (float switch or pressure switch). In case of input also from the command connected on G/P 2 both the motors will operate. In case a direct control of the motors is required position the jumpers ALTERNANZA in OFF position. With this setting G/P 1 controls directly and independently the motor 1 and G/P 2 controls directly and independently the motor 2. The control panel for sewage DRENA 2 can also be used with the function of exchanger with start/stop (selfhold) function on the float switches which control the pumps. This function can be done by positioning the jumper FUNZ.START/STOP of the control terminals. The selfhold function is not active when the jumper is disconnected. 9

10 MORE FUNCTIONS With the control panel SMART 2 it is possible to choose if having an alarm signal in case of minimum level/pressure. By including the jumper EXC. ALARM the light (level alarm) on the frontpanel lights on when the contact G. MIN opens e la and the cumulative alarm relais activates. On the contrary by excluding the above mentioned jumper the motors stop when the contact G. MIN opens with no other alarm signal. When G/P ALARM opens: - The light (level alarm) on the frontpanel turns on - The cumulative alarm relais activates - The alarm output activates In case of fault of one of the motors it is possible to exclude it automatically by including the jumper on the back of the synoptic panel inside the box. Looking at the back of the synoptic panel the jumper on the left regulates the operation of the second motor and the jumper on the right regulates the operation of the first motor. 10

11 8. Operation After connecting the control panel to the mains supply and positioning the main switch to ON the led lights on indicating power supply to the panel. The electric pumps operating are indicated by the green led lightened. By pushing the buttons it is possible to set: : running of the electric pumps controlled manually by the operator; : funzi running of the electric pumps controlled by external switches (float switches); : manual electric pump switch-off. 14 General conditions and Declaration of Conformity Warranty The warranty of the product is subject to Espa (UK) Limited general sales conditions. Acknowledgement of the warranty is bound to the proved and scrupulous observance of the use instructions included in this handbook, and the application of good mechanical, hydraulic and electro technical rules. All products have a 12 month warranty that covers manufacturing defects of our products and includes replacement/repair of faulty parts. The warranty is void in the following cases: - If the panel is tampered (modified without prior authorization); - Failure due to missed or improper protection, and/or connection error; - Failure when the limits indicated on the plate are exceeded; - Normal panel wear; - Non-observance of operating given regulations by personnel in charge; - Incidental causes, acts of God, i.e. fires, flooding, water or lightening; Faulty products must be returned free of charge to Espa (UK) Limited, who reserves the indisputable opinion concerning the cause of the defect. The warranty covers only product characteristics resetting and not damages to persons or goods. Maintenance DRENA 2 does not require any type of ordinary maintenance if it is used within the limits and in compliance with the indications included in this manual. Extraordinary maintenance or repairs must be assigned to the authorized service centers. For repairs use only genuine spare parts. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damages to persons, animals or goods due to maintenance works carried out by non authorized personnel or with non genuine products. Disposal Strictly follow local environment friendly regulations for disposal and scrapping. It is however advisable to adopt differentiated waste disposal. 14
