With these sensors the system collects, stores and processes critical operational data regarding temperature, pressure, level, main engine r.p.m., consumption etc. The system consists of the central processing unit (Simatic S7300), one or more monitoring stations, one or more printers, as well as one or more compact remote monitoring stations (Simatic Panels TP1777, KTP1000). It is equipped with a UPS unit to ensure smooth operation. The processing of the collected data is able to provide the ship s captain, the Chief mechanic, as well as the ship

2 owner with a comprehensive and credible view of ship s condition at any time, through the screen of a computer at the ship s bridge, the engine room or the maritime company s central offices.
